Not only is she hot she owns my favorite synth... W. Gonna be watching for a ling time! Keep up the great music too! Better than anything I could create lol.
Slick jam, I had this on in the background and kept looking up at the screen when something peaked my ear's interest. Which ended up being alot. :) Great jam. Thanks for releasing this.
That’s awesome hah!! Thank you for taking the time to let me know. I never know if people are going to appreciate what I think sounds good, so comments like this are always so encouraging 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Now that's what I'm talking about. Love the whole video. That Moog One is something else. Sounded so sweet. Heard it through my headphones along with a JBL Bluetooth speaker to feel the bass with my eyes closed. It felt like you took me through a nice journey. Great jam. 👍👍👍👍👍
Ah thanks!!! I thought it would either be super boring or really cool to build up some patches from scratch and jam, but fortunately it seems like people dig it :) Thank you for the thoughtful comment and for watching 🥹🙏🏼
I used this video to test Bass response with various headphones and a sub I sometime use. (my typical monitor setup is pretty flat..) Very helpful- Subscribed! :)
Oh, right on! Definitely not the best mix ever since I was recording the main stereo out of the One, so very limited in what I could do to balance things, but there is probably a good amount of bass. The jam is in Amin with the lowest note being the D just above 30 Hz :)
So good. I’d say it’s very flat and not hyped, but you can get a little more oomph using the MEME controller on the HiFi voicing, which adds a smiley face curve to the spectrum. I have a tendency to overemphasize bass (dance music/DJ background), so this def helps keep perspective. The bass is also insanely fast and tight. The separation between the kick and and sub is very obvious in a way that has really helped me a lot when making decision about decay times, ducking, and the overall groove. I can’t recommend them enough :)
1st? OK so gonna listen with my new cans, I may not be able to afford what you have, but I can certainly hear it much better now because of my new toys :D
Should be pretty decent on a good set of headphones. I probably should have played in a different key, so it would translate better and not used a sine for the sub haha, but oh well. I love deep bass :)
@@dimund I could barely hear the kick and I think that is due to different reasons, I would have used that thing on your left, looks suspiciously like a Jomox Alpha Base Drum Machine. I get what you're doing here and it's cool BUT given what the M1 can do, I would seriously let a dedicated kick come in rather than try to synthesize one. It needs some nice deep kick to cut through what the M1 is doing along side your playing. Only reason I am being so critical is these cans, Planars with new headphone amp are allowing me to hear stuff that I have never heard before. I am listening to stuff I mixed 5 years ago when I knew nothing, and I am impressed that I actually got some stuff right lol. I am not critiquing you here or your choices, just that this is the seriously 1st time I have heard stuff as it's meant to be, without having to shell out 5K for a pair of monitors lol. Keep em coming and looking forwards to your finished projects, in saying that, I have to go over my old catalog and remix because of my older HPA and cans lol. Should be a fun few months/years.
@@dankeplace Its a jam and sound design session not a instrumental production session. The elements of this jam can be taken on to a actual musical song production later if Dimund feels like doing that. There the extra sound would be added along with structure and using a reference song to compare things like bass, drums to a popular song in the chosen category such as Melodic Techno.
@@dankeplace yeah, for sure... this was just a jam using the main stereo out of the One to showcase that you can design a kick, a bass, a harmony, melodies, and do some live mixing without anything else. Tricky to do given the limited ability to EQ, process, sidechain, etc. and the shared headroom. If I were going to try to make a track with a good mix, I would - at the very least - use the aux outs on the One to record the kick and hat on one channel, the bass on another, the dub stab on a third, and then capture only the send effects (reverb) from the main stereo out. In reality, I would end up using the Jomox for drums, the minimoog for bass and leads, and the one and Iridium for harmonies, melodies, and ambience. They would each get recorded separately and processed through the Shelford Channel on the way in, and then I would process everything extensively in the DAW and get it sounding perfect. Again, that wasn't the point of this video, though heh. I just wanted to have some fun jamming and show off what the One can do on its own in the right hands :)
Great jam. I love Moog synthesizers. I'd love them even more if I could afford some of their nicer synths. I feel lucky that I was able to pickup two Moog Werkstatt-01 when they re-released them a couple years ago. Next I'll likely get a Moog Mavis as it's not too expensive. AFAIK it's the only Moog with a wave folder.
It took me a while to get mine. They are awesome, and I’ll never sell them. The matriarch is definitely way more affordable and sounds absolutely awesome
You certainly make the most of that Moog One, I dont really do much sound design other than just tweaking pre existing patches on My Notation Peak. I just prefer to find a preset spark a musical idea and tweak the patch as needed.
Yeah, I’ve just always loved designing sounds but it took a long time to get to the point where I was actually designing stuff that sounded good! I used to leverage presets a lot more when I was first starting out, but I really never use them now. Nothing wrong with them though! I’d probably finish more songs if I did hah
Thank you so much! Yeah, it's such a powerful synth, but I rarely see it being used to its full potential. It gets such a bad wrap from a lot of people, but I've never used a synth that I could do this on that wasn't a workstation keyboard.
@@dimund Please keep posting your music and videos! You bring me inspiration. I love my Moog One. I will never get rid of it. I agree it does not get a lot of praise because not many people can afford it and actually play it.
@@dimund of course I noticed, I love sound…. Noise is the glue for everything, gives depth of texture, and layers from white through to purple noise. Great dub plate reverb colours…. How does the moog-one separate sounds ? Do you make set velocity values to trigger different parts of the frequency to have a contrasting kick, with hi hats, or is it simply multi-timbral with different midi channel triggers ?
Fantastic. I have a Moog one 16v, Model D 2022, DFAM, M32 and Grandmother in my Moog corner. They’re amazing. I have a Pro 3 SE and Prophet 10 in Sequential corner and a Polybrute. Took me 43 year of dreaming to get them. From the age of 10 I’ve been obsessed with synths. Since 1980!

@dimund I also prefer a "less is more effective" studio approach - That´s why I sampled my drummachines into my lovely S2400. :) Somehow the DRM is still a keeper for me because I see the machine more as a pure analog percussion sampling source. And yeah the Jomox kickdrum sounds very nice!
