Thats a 4g92 mivec second gen power plant. The most under rated engine by mitsubishi Same as mine. Its fun to drive specially when mivec kicks in at around 5.2k rpm. And its a high reving engine too. The only down side is not too many performance parts compare too b16 sir of honda civic. But you can play with stand alone ecu and upgraded cams.

Fun Fact: before the S2000 F20C, Nissan produced the most power/liter ratio engine with the SR16NEOVVL which was a 1.6L with 200HP. I believe that was in the Pulsar GTi
that was a super rare pulsar vzr N1 version which only a few hundred of them made. but they made plenty of normal vzr pulsars which are the same specs as this cyborg.175ps 1600cc(blue valve cover). funny fact even though the vzr n1(red valve cover) made more power than a ek9 spoon civic. it could not compete on the track . so Nissan went back and made a vzr N1 version 2 which had orange r32 gtr front seats and that was amazing but i think Nissan only made 30 or so of these beasts.
Wish I'd let you do a POV drive of my EK9 when you had the chance. Trying to find the limiter as it climbs and climbs is such a great experience, the rev happy nature of these cars just makes you want to drive it like you stole it everywhere you go (slowly) :)
A lot of those mirages are used for dirt racing and rally in japan in some condition, it's faster than dc2 integra type-r due to its short gearing and short wheelbase
@PacificCoastAuto there is also another JDM only car even you havent heard about... they stumbled out of the mitsibishi factory with hardly any fanfare: the mitsubishi LANCER 6 looks like a evo 3 shape lancer but has a V6! only seen one or two on my travels. thats how rare they actually are. the cyborg you have is the 2nd gen. first gen was a twin cam 1500

Just realizing now that every manual Mitsubishi I've have ever had has had synchro problems. That's only 4, so not exactly a huge sample to work with but still Is that a well known Mitsubishi problem?
Lmao, my 2017 Hyundai Accent 6spd had synchro issues earlier on from the previous owner (apparently still shares some Mitsubishi parts within the trans from what I've read up) , then I eventually lost 3rd/4th gear 3 years later lol. Sidenote: I eventually swapped in a gearbox from a 2013 non turbo Veloster with half the miles (70k vs 148k at the time of the swap) and it's such a good upgrade lol. Close ratio gears with a 4.26 final drive VS the economy gearing and 3.83 final drive in the original transmission lol.

Pretty much all cars are apples to oranges. The Civic Type R might be a "better" car. But then how do you rate a car? Is the price part of how you decide a "better" car. The Miarge is probably about 8/10s the car the EK9 is but at 1/4 the price. I'm pretty sure that there are some people out there that will claim the Mirage is better considering that.

the 4G92 engine is sadly over-rated by MMC. it doesnt match up to the B16A engined EG or EK civic. AFAIK Oz tuners dyno & had to drastically mod by upping displacement & tuning it to get it to match the aforementioned Civics :). no judgements...just sharing

put 4g92 block with Mivec head and it will eat Type-R. Also there was an RS version which was Type-R version competitor. ZR was a Civic SiR rival
