I LOVE THIS. I shoot Canon for work but occasionally use my Fuji XH2S on those jobs - and yes, Flog 2 and Clog 2 are interchangeable. I shoot live theater Multicam production and sometimes use the XH2S as a 5th or 6th camera in 6K to cover the entire stage. The only difference is the Fuji is a lot sharper and higher resolution. The DGO sensor in the C70 makes it my favorite camera of all time though - Arri Alexas, the C300 MKIII and the C70 are the only DGO sensors on the market as far as I know.
So thankful for your channel! Plus my lady heard you say something and totally cracked up. I told her “this guy is a true comedian”! She wasn’t ready🤣🤣🤣
The C70 looked amazing at the very end. I can see the dynamic range boost. It would be great to see it compared to the Z6iii and the ZV-E1. The Fuji looks good too.
I always replace the speedbooster on the C70 with a blank adapter when outdoors in the daytime to avoid the dreaded purple blob! Did you know you can set the custom buttons on the C70 quickly by holding the menu button and custom button down for more than 1 second? I'd owned the camera for more than 18 months before I learned that. To set exposure on your face perfectly on the C70 in CLOG2, set the waveform monitor to the option that says '+spot' in the setup menu... which will make a portion of it turn red and therefore easier to see what you're exposing for. Then hold a grey card in the red section (where your face would be) and adjust exposure until it reads a tiny fraction under 40 IRE on the waveform. It works every single time. The false colour is nice so see what's blown out, but its not accurate enough to get perfect exposure on skin. You could also set zebras to 40%, but sometimes they trigger too early. The waveform +spot option and a grey card gets it dialled in perfectly.
Hi, I heard that this camera can take dng 12 bit photos. I'm thinking of getting this rig for video work, but to be able to take photos for myself sometimes. Have you tried its photo capabilities?
This surprised me. The Fuji was just better in every way, especially colours but your skin tones are finally on point! That new FLog2C should be better than 2 though.
Wow. The F00ge looks really good. In fact, they both look great and the F00ge isn't really distinguishable from the Canon. I don't mind the sharpening.
The thing about oversharpened images is that you can always soften them in post. The C70 has a softer contrast in the shadows and neutral color balance with the sky looking proper blue. The Fuji looks like it has a "Vintage film" LUT with the temp turned up a couple hundred K and the tint shifted toward green.
The c70 has superior Toneh to a crop, but as you say two separate tools for the job. The fooj is more vlogger friendly with the lighter weight. Which is kinda your thing.
At least on YT it shocking how similar the image quality is. But also situationally it's strange Flog2 looked too sharp inside but fine outside. But following Philip suggestion Flog1 made it soft and pleasing to the point I couldn't tell the difference.
To reduce oversharpening on the Fujifilm X-H2S, you can use the ‘Soften and Sharpen’ effect in DaVinci Resolve with the following settings: • Small Texture: -0.300 • Adjust Small Texture Granularity: 0.150 These settings can make skin appear smoother and reduce noise, creating a look similar to a Blackmagic camera.
On the whole, I prefer the look of the Fuji except its colors are definitely yellow. You definitely need RF lenses on the C70. The speed booster causes mad flaring.
'Soften and Sharpen', low details only in resolve to fix the sharpness on the Fuji as it has no optical low pass filter. Change the color settings in resolve to Wide Gamut intermediate to fix your colors as both the cameras look bit crushed still for color. Inb4 the F-Log2C video comes out and Kasey still hates the 'over sharpened' look and 'poor shadows' because he won't ever fix his resolve pipeline, that and F-Log2C just changes the color lookup and the gamma curve is identical to F-Log2.
No signature "subscribe curtsey" = NO LIKE FROM ME!! But honestly thanks for making me feel right about the Fuji (XS-20) choice I made. It is a different sensor so I'm curious of the f-log2 sharpness thing is similar on my XS-20.
one thing i dont know if you ever mentioned in your search for the 3d pop goodness - the speedboster adds extra 5 optical elements, doesnt it technically destroy/skew whatever magical goodness the lenses produce?
Probably not since it's a generic conversion for any lens you put on it. Since it's usually not designed for your specific lens a speed booster has a lot of unpredictable things going on, also, probably somewhat degrades sharpness, especially the corners. It's kinda helping in terms of character.
@@tankivulture148 yeah, i asked because i stumbled upon an old issue people who shot nikon DSLRs and wanted to adapt old m42 lenses had to endure - the flange distance on the nikons meant you couldnt focus the m42 lenses past like 5-10 meters, so there was a special adapter with optics you could use, but it totally changed the character of the bokeh... i guess modern speedboosters are optically superior to these but still.
Depends on who makes the speed booster and how much color correction is performed by the glass composition used. Microcontrast (3d pop) is from color error based on distance where closer subjects have defined accurate saturation while further subjects have varying degrees of error in contrast (via absorption) and chromatic aboration (angle distortion). A speed booster with glass that has compositions that either correct or accentuate optical transmission will increase or decrease microcontrast from design to design.
I learned something. 14:03 When doing camera comparisons, apply text first to the entire segment for each camera before cutting and making your transforms.
Well the C70 is Netflix approved and the XH2x isn't, so if you're making Netflix footage there is a clear winner regardless of the video comparison. If you're vlogging, there is a clear winner because you're not going to vlog with a kitted out C70. I think the big point here is that the XH2s looks pretty good for just about any use you'll likely be putting it to.
Kasey It would be awesome if you could atleast store skin tone and image compare the C70 to the R5 Mk2. The ideal is outdoor testing but hey anything would be great.
Overall I like the Fuji better, but I'm assuming the Canon allows more post processing. I'd buy the Fuji unless I'm shooting a movie with sfx. Which I'm not ever 😅 If turnaround time is important, Fuji wins.
So for less then half the money you get a comparable or better system. Giving you room to ad 3 f1.x lenses. Ok I think that makes things easy. Maybe compare it next to the S5iix and see how that compares. Great baked in Luts + better stab. Try that for a video.
Shocking how little difference there is in actual video performance, LOL We come a long way in camera tech, soon Panasonic will come with their quad ISO sensor, micro four thirds, co-developed with Sigma Foveon sauce, true 24 bit colours in each pixel, 4k 10fps.
The c70 is wwwaaayyy more reliable over the Fuji though. Active fan cooling - hot, cold, wet, doesn’t matter. And you can shoot both 10 and 12bit 60 all day with zero overheating. I moved from a xt4 to a c70 for that very reason several year back.
I like the colors of the Canon, but the price point isn't practical for most people. The learning curve also seems to make it less useful unless you can really invest time into the system.
i would like to see only a color space transformation when shooting in log, cuz then we can see the true differences, idk how u transform ur log footage to rec709 but in ur old vids u showed us that u do a light grading.
Canon looks better, but it must be admitted that the lens is also better ( that's why U see difference in back light situations and color shift on Fuji ) If you have the money, then Canon is a great choice, if no stick to Sony/Lumix
Canon image is better. Not 2x the price better. As I already have EF glass, it equals out the price. Not getting the C70 though. R7 II or R5 II sounds good though
Fuji colours are better, except the skin tones for some reason. The backlit scenes aren't even close, Canon all the way. I think the most important piece of equipment you need to upgrade is that scooter. EUCs are better! What do I know, some crack head stole my ZV1 and I haven't uploaded a single video since. I'm saving up for a used Canon Elph.

Light looks more natural on the fooj. Overall video quality has gotten very good on the channel over time
It's strange that no one has yet thought of such a video and such a comparison. After all, this is literally the best video theme in 2024
WOOWWW ! fuji look so cinematic , best dynamic range and better color science
And not even giving me a moisturizer 😂
Would love to see what you think of the new F-Log2C!
Philip was right - FLOG looks WAAAAY better than FLOG2. Much more natural. Peck for the win!

So happy that you chose to use the Fuji 16mm / 1.4f for this video - just picked one up for my Fuji X-S10. 👌
Outdoor I find the Fuji more pleasing to watch
Once you get over the AF, you realize that the XH2 and XH2S are incredible cameras.
Thanks Stalker for keeping up with the schedule

@fillblood3075 C70 does not take stills, it's a cinema camera.
@@juliancroot In the settings you can assign a button for photo, in case you need it 😅
@fillblood3075 it's effectively just a screen shot.

Recently I discovered your channel and is hilarious and very informative. Thank you for make me smile and laugh!!
F-log 1 did look more natural.
Sharpened image gave H2S right away.
Just my opinion but the Nikon Z6 III footage you took where you were by the shore was streets ahead of everything else, pure cinema.
I have been waiting so long for this video
The Canon just looks beautiful, the skin tone is just nice .. Fooj with the brighter colors tho

F-log is smooth as Canon C70 footage.
I liked the C70 better. But I love a small camera for the pocket 😁
C-log is blue skintone, fuji is realistic and cinematic looks i prefere fuji and F-log. C70 is so contrasted
yes ,that's why we choose Canon , Fuji is just more natural and red
13:10 The cinema is ours... Lens makes all the difference
The c70 has superior Toneh to a crop, but as you say two separate tools for the job. The fooj is more vlogger friendly with the lighter weight. Which is kinda your thing.
I reckon Casey's love-hate with Fuji is now rivaling that of Ross & Rachel.
This is how i like to start my day with good ol Uncle Kas
Indeed we learned something today! I’ll pick the Fuji any day of the week.
At least on YT it shocking how similar the image quality is. But also situationally it's strange Flog2 looked too sharp inside but fine outside. But following Philip suggestion Flog1 made it soft and pleasing to the point I couldn't tell the difference.
The Canon is more "cinematic" for sure. The Fooj looks "cheap" by comparison, as you'd expect from a mirrorless camera... too sharp.
Which ND filter on the Fuji? Thanks!
To reduce oversharpening on the Fujifilm X-H2S, you can use the ‘Soften and Sharpen’ effect in DaVinci Resolve with the following settings:

Damn the C70's AF was having a fit near the end of the video. 😅

I prefered the Canon in the blind test. Not knowing anything about Canon cameras I supposed it was the cheaper alternative to Fuji.
Fuji is pretty good
have you tried EF lenses on the fuji? Maybe that’s another layer of POP and helps with the uber sharpness of flog
I'm a long time subscriber and catching up from 1 year almost. Did you buy the XH2S again or you did not sell it back then and locked it up
What do you think about Fuji x-m5?
Terribly designed body.
if only Fuji has that Sony AF, everybody would be using Fuji
No
Agree, I'm sony user and AF is the only thing keeping me away from fuji.
If only Sony had Fuji colors and stacked sensor everyone will be using Sony.
@@PatrickWithCamera why would you go on Fuji
you loose full frame. Much better dynamic, much better iso performance. A lot more lens compared to Fuji.
Maybe on a gfx50... They can keep the apsc over there. Maybe for video only
I just recently got an S1H for $950 I should've gotten the C70 to record my cat.
What’s the best hybrid camera from Canon?
2:30 much better FLOG
damn, Fuji
you break my heart...

@@adinbradic7092 My point exactly. Both are sufficiently good for anything we're likely to be doing. But one is suitable for vlogging.

Mist* most 🙄
Canon is a Winner.
I feel the C70 to be the better camera overall but it is too expensive. As you said, I think the R5 II is the better alternative to both

So, what we learned is go with R5 mk2?
timeline of recording and publishing videos might be messed up. this could be recorded before flog 2c update
