I sorted through 5lbs of world coins today. I can’t believe I got 12 fillers for my Canada small cents album. Last week I turned up a 1932 Canada cent in a box search. George VI or was it IV? Small thrills add up.
@@TwoshedsGabby I order from CIVITAS Galleries. It’s a great experience for school children. I used to “sell” them as rewards in my 3rd grade classroom. It’s sneaky way to get kids to learn geography. Now I make jewelry pins and bury others in the park. It’s fun to wash dishes and watch coin shooters across the street scratch their heads wondering how they could even be there.
As a young teacher I took a class on a field trip. There was a wishing well (for donations). Of course I had to pull a couple boys out by their feet. We got banned, lol. 30 years later in retirement I helped chaperone a trip to the same museum as I knew that teacher was struggling with a class much like the one I had. They got banned too. When I advised one outspoken contrarian that she should mind the poison ivy, she said she’d touch it if she wanted to. That’s when they came to understand that a retired teacher holds a different status. “Eat some, if you want to. Jess sayin’.”
You can't scrap legal tinder unless they change the law. Clean copper brings $3.10 per lb. around here. I have about 40 lbs. of stripped wire here waiting for me to take it to the junk yard, i.e. recycling center.
This is the first time I’ve listened to one of your videos. I found it very interesting. When I get a chance I will sit down and watch it. 👍thank you. 👍
I’m so tired of finding 1969 D Lincoln cents!! They must have made 16 billion of them, I think I found 15 billion of them!!! LOL ! Back when I was a little one (when we played stickball with dinosaur eggs) use to find lots of wheat cents. Those were the good ole days. Great video Sir!
I remember being in a small mom and pop grocery store. Probably 65 or 66, and getting change and one of them was an Indian head nickel. I thought it was so cool. I was 5 or 6, and probably didn't even see much change at that time. And thank you very much. At least the 69's are copper
@@raymondbrown940 that’s awesome! Thanks for the information. I sort all my copper pennies by year and mint. So one day when I’m bored I can easily search them. Do you know of a book on penny errors? eBay has a few books, but I didn’t know the better to choose.
I’ve never found a proof in circulation😂 good finds. I don’t box hunt though. I pick up 2 or 4 rolls at my bank once a month and search pocket change. Been doing that for 7 years I think. No proofs😂.. that 86 D looks like doubling the 9 also looks like it’s coming loose to me too.. might be dye fatigue but the rest of the coin looks pretty sharp. Definitely something going on there with that one. You can probably sell it for a decent little amount to someone curious. I just bought a silver Roosevelt dime for a couple bucks with a decent size dye chip. I wouldn’t say I’m an error collector but I’ve got a few.
Good luck in your future searches. I would be curious what I could get for the 86 penny. I may put it on eBay auction style. Speaking of silver, watch for my next short silver hunt video. I found something I hadn't found in a few years.
I save the copper cents also. 1982 and up Zinc I only save D's and S's, never found a W yet, but they must be in great shape. My manta about finding Proof coins is someone robbed Grandpa's collection and I'm a Grandpa. Nice find on the Canadian George VI, I found a 1943 George VI a few weeks ago. Since Canada stopped using the 1-cent coin in 2012 or so it's imagining they are still in circulation.
You are probably right about the proof's, and I'm a grandpa too .. kind of sad, but I'm still tickled that I'm the one that found them .. I'm sure some people think I'm silly for liking the Canadian coins so much, but I just find them a very fun part of my coin collecting. Hope you're having a good day
I don't understand the point of coin hunting pennies. I understand pre 82s are 90 percent copper. To what end. You found some wheats and proofs. I have the 2024 red book. What do we do with the rest?
Question remains. It is not not legal to melt US coins Nickels are 75 percent copper and 25 percent nickel. They are worth close to ten cents by now. @@TwoshedsGabby
I only look for 55 DDs and small dates. I pretty much ignore anything 83 or newer. Keep pre82s and weigh 82s for copper. Put aside about 140 pounds so far. $200 is a low guess. Takes up a lot of space
Head East !
@@markwilliams5811 LoL, I was thinking west
Nope...Head towards the Northern Lights.

That is just too cool. So where do you get these world coins. That sounds pretty fun. God bless

Wow,! I watched the whole thing...I must have liked it! Four Proofs and the'59 in such great shape! Yep, I liked your little quotes. Nice touch.
@@larrylewis6725 thank you
Very entertaining, I enjoyed it very much. Thank you. 👍
Well thanks for watching, I'm glad you enjoyed it
I remember when I could see the dates with my eyes, now I need to use magnification.
That's pretty much me too.... I sort them with a magnifier until I find something, then I record with my phone with the zoom in a little.
I use a large lighted hobby magnifying crane style unit
People may not remember "Wishing wells" Pennies everywhere. Things of the past.
That's very true... I doubt if there is a database of past wishing wells.

I found two long electric cords today to add to mine. Have a bunch to strip when I feel like it.
I still have some copper wire pieces in a drawer that I strip a few pieces from time to time.

I think that the 8 is a typical type of error from the mint. P.S.I would look at the 71 s, mint it maybe a DDO
Thanks
Collect empty aluminum cans,
you will make more money per hour.
I should probably do that. Good exercise, help keep the neighborhood clean, make a few bucks...

For those 69D's, you can check the back to see if the engraver's initials are gone (No FG). That's a nice variation.

Toilet paper, Ya sounds crazy, But it's going to go nuts!
Businesses are locking paper dispensers up to keep people from stealing the paper.
When things get slightly crazy, it's one of the first things to go... Stock up..

The copper pennies from 1959 to 1982 I just store away waiting for copper to go up. Already the pennies are worth 2.5 cents each.
