    I was on the verge of selling my X100V, and then I saw this video. Thanks to your advise, or the sharing of your settings and how you use the camera, I was FINALLY able to figure out what I needed to do, to get the kind of images I wanted to get! THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing!

    Hey Mike. Been using Fuji cameras for years now and had the soft shutter button on all of them. Finger tight, until it turns the camera on and use the washer provided and you’ll have no issues at all.
    My mate still uses an X-Pro 1 from release date with the same button.

    A hood seems like a very good idea. I like your pictures (and ur camera) I just got one of these yesterday. So happy. Was shocked at the price. I got one in new condition w/400 sc from Japan for $1600 - a camera that listed for $1400 (refurbs under $1k!) That is capitalism. I already have 2 nice cameras (M43 & ff) but i just fell in love w/ this camera. And I love it even more now. I did add thumb rest.

    I know that you are not happy with the grip. I use an L-bracket grip from JJC and do not feel it makes the X100v more clumsy or heavy, but I recommend it 150%.

    Great vid. May I ask why you don't shoot with the V professionally? Because I do and I love it. There are some moments it disappoints me but most of the time it helps in taking photos in a relaxed fashion. I combine it with other fuji bodies and primes, and I think it helps me have a low profile and not worry people too much by pointing a Canon-canon at them.
    Sometimes I wonder if I'm missing out on full frame but it just feels so much more relaxed and so much less like work - which helps me take better photographs because the relaxed process allows for more creativity and flow.
    PS: I fucked up my XT30 button for a while with shutter button 3rd party accessories so I'm with you on removing that red button

    • @MikeChudley
      @MikeChudley  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good point, the V is very very good. But I already own a Canon R6 so anything that is serious/professional I always use that and keep the V for fun and light work.

    Hi Mike. I know you use the hood but, do you have a filter on the lens like a UV or nothing at all. Kindest regards Ken R.

    • @justindelmedico8544
      @justindelmedico8544 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I read that the UV filter slightly reduces image quality, I think that’s something to consider if you are in the market for one

      If it's any help I raised this when I bought it, and was told (in a shop!) that the Fuji UV filter was top quality and wouldn't impact the images taken. Also, means that it's weather proof as well.

    Center-weighted metering is an odd choice (only bc you said you are doing focus/re-compose. Unless you're always putting your subj in the center when you re-compose (which is doubtful). I think averaging the entire scene will protect your highlights better combined with smart use of the exposure comp dial. Cheers... and GREAT SHOTS BRO!!! | @freshouttafocus
