I do too. I LOVE the first Wily stage. The music that starts is so dreary when it's raining, then it picks up after that first mini boss. Man, so much to love about that level.
I actually think 10 is without a doubt, the best game in the series. (At least tied with 11). I friggin LOVE this game. The music, The 3 playable characters, the weapons (i actually like the weapons) THE WILY STAGES....GOD. So much good here....i can’t get enough of it.
Megaman 10 is actually my most favorite megaman game besides Megaman 3. Playing as Bass is so much fun dashing, jumping and shooting in every direction 😁
I love Sheep Man! His whole level is a reference to Phillip K. Dick's "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep", and the electricity theme also ties in well with wool, which generates static electricity. The weapons in 10 are also good. Triple Blade is your go to weapon, cheap to fire, easy to aim, and can do high damage at point blank range because all three blades will hit at the same time, bypassing i-frames. It's MM10's equivalent of Metal Cutter, but more balanced. Water Shield is the best shield weapon in the series, it's actually useful unlike most shields but not completely broken like Jewel Shield was. Commando Bomb and Rebound Strike are tricky to use, but can do massive damage if used correctly. Chill Spike freezes enemies, Solar Blaze can bypass shields, and Nitro Man lets you climb walls as you noted. The only really bad weapon is Thunder Wool.
Great review! I found Mega Man 9 so hard, I lost my enthusiasm to dive into 10, even though like you I picked it up when it came out. I'll definitely come back to it soon.
I'm actually pretty nostalgic for it since it was the first 8bit game I ever played. So I am thankful for it beeing my entrypoint to retro gaming. Haven't played the legacy collection yet. Is endless mode and challenge mode included there?
I really need to revisit this one. I loved 9 (I would put it in the same company as 2 and 3), but this one is the only mainline MM game I've never finished. Maybe after 11, I'll go back to it on the 2nd Legacy Collection.
I played through this when it first came out and haven't touched it since. I remember that it wasn't nearly as good as 9. I'll hafta revisit it someday. And is the frame rate really that choppy when you play as Proto Man?
Yup. Same here. I played it once when it first came out and haven't touched it since. I think I got it on the Wii but that is long gone.. I got legacy collection 2 recently though so I'll get to it.. once I get through 1-9 first lol
Another BIG problem with the original PS3, XBLA, and Wii versions is the instant spoiler created by the left and right border pictures showing actual sprites of the enemy weapons that you can unlock from the respective robot masters. No option to turn this off. That's why I'm glad for those who will be playing this on Legacy Collection 2 for the first time.
I think that's one of it's strongest points. I've talked to people in the past who really like Mega Man 10 and they aren't super into the series. It was an easy entry point for them.
I finally just finished 10 with Mega man and Bass and it's a fun entry in the series. I'd say the difficulty is on par with Mega Man 2 once you know what you're doing. I had a harder time finishing 9 but 10 was good
What's wrong with Mega Man and Bass? It's my personal favorite out of the classic Mega Man series. Challenging, interesting, and fun. Moving around as Bass is great. His movement has the good aspects of the X series without the bad aspects, such as eaten inputs and missed dashes, etc. Other than that, good review. Enjoyed it. As usual.
I've been replaying the Mega Man series over the past month or so, and it was my first time playing 9 or 10. I was so impressed with the polish of 9, particularly the great set pieces in every level (not a single stage here was a dud, either!) and the way every master weapon felt fun and useful (well, the Plug Ball is a bit below average for the series, but everything else is excellent). Following that experience up immediately with 10, I was let down. In addition to the master weapons being mostly terrible, I found the level design to be remarkably inconsistent; hated the stages for Nitro Man, Commando Man, and ESPECIALLY Strike Man so much that I essentially quit the game out of frustration just before getting to Wily's castle. The contrast in quality between weapon sets in 9 and 10, however, made me want to go back and replay the series yet again so I could place a greater emphasis on appreciating the robot master weapons, as I tend to stick to the buster most of the time. By the time I made my way back to 10, after gaining greater appreciation for the weapons across the series, I was ready to dismiss the game as a total piece of shit, and capcom somehow screwing up a formula they'd perfected, but I found myself really enjoying the game for what it was. I did play as Proto Man this time around, and I think that made some of the difference. I also knew that I liked the Tri Blade and Water Shield, so I got those stages first, to maximize their usage throughout the game. I found myself enjoying 10 MUCH more than I did the first time; the Wily Levels here are fantastic (I, too, love the boss sequence that simulates old robot masters from 1-9). And while Strike Man's level still managed to cause me a unique sort of frustration, I really dug the level design for Sheep Man and Pump Man, while most of the others were at least above average. I had a blast slicing through levels with the tri blade, and kept my eyes open for opportunities to use the other weapons (even the awful thunder wool came in handy on a couple of occasions). All in all, I think Mega Man 10 is one of the hardest games to rank in the entire series- of course, it's a tough series to rank, as the games are all quite similar in style and quality - but I could see why someone would put this one at the very bottom of the pile, but also wouldn't fault anyone for considering it a top 3. I will say that I was never disengaged or bored with Mega Man 10, which happened on occasion with some of the older games. I was either loving for the challenge it or feeling intense frustration with some of its set pieces or finicky weapon mechanics. Can't wait to go back through with Bass sometime soon!
Honestly Mega Man 10 was one of my favorites in the classic series. I actually loved it surprisingly more than i thougjt i would
SAME
I enjoyed 10. Has some good stages and I think that first Wily stage is one of the best in the series.
I do too. I LOVE the first Wily stage. The music that starts is so dreary when it's raining, then it picks up after that first mini boss. Man, so much to love about that level.

I KNOW I FEEL THE SAME THING!!
Megaman 10 is actually my most favorite megaman game besides Megaman 3. Playing as Bass is so much fun dashing, jumping and shooting in every direction 😁
Yeah,i love all robot masters, especially nitro man and solar man
@@gdassspar6nar I liked pump man's stage his song is good
It's perfect water level song

Unpopular opinion: MM10 has the best music on the series.
I'm not going to agree, but I'm going to say that I do really like the music in this game. It's very good.
@@braselthegamer Let me clarify: Best music from the CLASSIC series. The Megaman game with the best music of the entire franchise imo is Megaman X
Thats unpopular? Theres not even contest imho
Chill man theme, blade man theme, SOLAR MAN THEME
Every track is so awesome
I'm actually pretty nostalgic for it since it was the first 8bit game I ever played. So I am thankful for it beeing my entrypoint to retro gaming. Haven't played the legacy collection yet. Is endless mode and challenge mode included there?
Been awhile since I've played through 10, but I remember liking it (along with 9). Excellent look back at this game Brasel.
I really need to revisit this one. I loved 9 (I would put it in the same company as 2 and 3), but this one is the only mainline MM game I've never finished. Maybe after 11, I'll go back to it on the 2nd Legacy Collection.
Definitely go back and give it another shot. Again, it's not the top game in the series or anything, but I had a lot of fun with it.
10 is my favourite of the entire classic series, so I can really agree with this review.
Great video Brasel. I recently did a play-through of MM10. I enjoyed it very much. Great game.
YES...shout out to Solar Man's music. Most underrated song of the classic MM titles IMO. Yeah this one got way better with age for me.
I didn't know you can play as Bass in this! I need to jump back into it after I beat 11
Dude, it's a lot of fun with Bass. Unlike the last game I covered. Ugh.
Just the fact that you can play as Mega Man, Proto Man, AND Bass automatically makes it top 3!
Awesome video and needed for this awesome game.
Thanks man!
Can we appreciate the “heart of enker” song, it’s like solar man’s theme but on steroids
I played through this when it first came out and haven't touched it since. I remember that it wasn't nearly as good as 9. I'll hafta revisit it someday. And is the frame rate really that choppy when you play as Proto Man?
No, my capture was bad and I didn't notice until after I uploaded it.
Yup. Same here. I played it once when it first came out and haven't touched it since. I think I got it on the Wii but that is long gone.. I got legacy collection 2 recently though so I'll get to it.. once I get through 1-9 first lol

finally someone loves this game
Killin' it, dawg
Thanks!
I liked 10 a lot, admittedly I’m not a big mega man guy but for a casual like me I think it definitely had a lot going for it
I think that's one of it's strongest points. I've talked to people in the past who really like Mega Man 10 and they aren't super into the series. It was an easy entry point for them.

I wish Mega Man 10 had 16 bit graphics
What's wrong with Mega Man and Bass? It's my personal favorite out of the classic Mega Man series. Challenging, interesting, and fun. Moving around as Bass is great. His movement has the good aspects of the X series without the bad aspects, such as eaten inputs and missed dashes, etc.

That's the thing the games built for bass
Mega man is basically terraria master mode for the worthy
Great review!!!
megaman 9 and 10 are the best games of the classic series
How I know MegaMan 10 is easy.
I Beat All the BOSSES JUST WITH BASS’S MEGA BUSTER.
The first
Time I played MegaMan 10 I played as bass and beat it :)

This game belongs to bass in my eyes
I'm the kind of person who would play another megaman's game even if they just picked up a previous game and just repackaged it in another skin😂.
Megaman game in any serie past their 3rd game are the same has pop rap: same shit over and over but it’s fun.
Gah! Don't tell me boss weaknesses in a review!
Mega Man 10 is awesome, especially on the collection. I think anyone who says otherwise is a poopy diaper.
