Looks great, sort of similar to mine. Just converted my Nissan Elgrand van, ist a 4x4 250bhp V6 van, luxury leatherinterior, drop down TV's, surround cameras etc. The camper conversion (done by myself) has a pull out bench/bed that leaves just enough room for x 2 bikes stowed between bench and kitchen. Bikes are locked to the outside of the van at night, but can be put into to van if going out for the day sightseeing etc.
The van and conversion excluding a pop top roof cost me £12,200.
The 2010 van was imported with a full service and 42k miles, they are a bargain compared to the Volkswagen offering and a far superior vehicle and like you am pleased with my slightly unusual conversion.

You're right , it is perfect . You're obviously chuffed and deservedly so . I've done a similar thing with a Toyota Granvia Van . Don't have the pop-up, have a Hardshell Tent mounted on a rack on the roof. Not as slick as yours but it gets the job done
This is one of, if not, the best van setups I’ve seen for MTB! I would love to be able to get one of these in the US!

The Pop Up bed only set up is probably the best concept I ve seen so far for a "smaller" weekend / holliday bike van.
Currently building my Ducato (=Promaster) 6.4 meter setup to live in during summer but this really impressed me.

Great set up. Fully understand binning the bed, comfortable neither to sit on or sleep on.
Sick setup, I want this but I think another seat would be super helpful, maybe fold down from the sides or something?

Perfect, I agree with everything you say, to me the whole point of a van is to not only get the bikes inside, but without taking a wheel out. All I'd add for myself would be a wind out awning, but that's not a criticism at all. 👍👌

Excellent van for the job 👍. I have the same van with full conversion and a system which allows my EMTB to fit between the front seats with the bed down which also gives me a dropper post arm rest when driving. Genius level must be 😂

I love Betty!! Your setup is incredible and I feel the love and passion when you are describing her. I feel the same way about my grand caravan and its the same color as Betty but mine is called Vantha (from bantha starwars)
I am currently trying to figure out how to sleep 4 so I can go on mountain bike trips w my 3 kids. I am trying to stay in the van world but need to do a lot of brainstorming.

As a family of 4, we have a 4 birth T6 and a 4x tow bar bike rack.
We just keep the bikes locked up on the rack and rely on honest campers. Never met anyone on a campsite out to rob someone, but I guess there could alway me be a first!
Yep- I totally trust most people but I'm going to be parking up in city centres across Europe and so i was a bit worried the temptation would be too great. 😌

Great setup Richard...do you have a table to attach to the floor to use when the front seat is swivelled? Losing the Rock 'n' Roll bed has created so much space but fron experience you will need a good sleeping bag in the roof, especially in the Alps ( I speak from experience 🥶)
can the rock and roll bed be easily put back in IE for a multi use van? going camping with bikes bed out. not taking bikes bed in. The way you have it is how i would like it but would be nice to have the option.

Hiya .. I'm sorry the conversion was done before I bought it l. I just had the back seats removed for storage and I've since added a couple of drawers and a storage shelf for the paddleboard and bike. I think that this conversion is about £12,000 once you have the van. Cheers
Lovely looking van and you have every right to be proud of her! I live in the Tetons and it is a bit rough and snowy out here. Does the same van come in four-wheel drive? Can you give specifics on Year and model that you are enjoying so much. Keep the rubber side down!
Thanks for the comment 👍 it's the 2016 T6 and i don't think it does come in 4 wheel drive sadly so i put on all terrain tyres - no additional road noise as far as i can tell but much better traction! 🙌

You might find the diesel heater doesn't reach the upstairs at night: make sure you've got a thick duvet!
Hey Steve, thanks mate - actually done a couple of nights now at almost freezing and with the thermostat set to 15 degrees and a good sleeping bag I was super comfy so quite impressed with the little heater 🙌😊

Super Van Mate. Looking forward to acquire one. I am more road and gravel and thought about a rack you may pull out were the bikes are fixed on to. Because of the mud and dirt you I also think the bikes might be better outside… at least on a save place and only placed inside when the area seems unsafe or isolated.. Have you considered that too ? Thank you for inspiring all of us who want to live the campervan life. Q: Is it possible to put the bed back up during the winter time? Im thinking we can sleep upstairs in spring/summer/fall and have the bikes ( racer & gravel ) inside, meanwhile when we are not riding the bikes during winter,we can sleep inside/downstairs. Beautiful van of yours , we like it a lot and we are currently looking for a California Ocean as well. Thank you for input .

Hello Simon from France! iv been looking since 4 hours straight now on the internet and this is exactly the look i thought about, and you made it amazing, im not really into mountain biking but more a scambler motorbike driver, do you think it would fit in i n the same position ? could you give me the lengh of your bike please ? and last question is it a T6 L2 or L1 ?
Hey mate .. it's a 2016 T6 short wheelbase and my bike is a standard 29er .. I can leave the back wheel in or take it off .. 👍👍
Brilliant van check buddy, can you sleep ok if it's windy outside? No sure how pop tops hold up when it's windy?
It's only happened once .. it was SO windy (tropical) that I reclined the front seat and slept with the roof down .. bit like sleeping in a comfy seat on a plane. :-)

Hiya Eric .. I'm a short arse 5'8" - the bed up top is basically 2 meters long so great for me but not really for someone super tall. :-)
in the old days you did not need a van to go mountain biking you just needed a bike and you road it from your house
100% agree .... i do laugh when someone takes an ebike in their car to a bike park and pays for the uplift as well 🤣🤣🤣

I've been thinking about this set up. How easy is it getting into that bed space up top? Ps I'm no youngster either
it's easy to stand on seat and lever yourself up but the tricky bit is twisting around to lie down - once you've done that it's really super comfortable ... NB i have a dodgy back and knees and I'm massively inelegant but practice makes perfect 😆.. it would be good to pop down to a campervan showroom and have a quick go - it's about the same as lifting your bum up on the end of a (sturdy) dining table and then lifting your legs and spinning around LOL 😝

@@DickingAboutTV I'm thinking this would suit us. When I'm away biking I'd have it set up just like you (could even get in both the MTB and gravel bikes), and then when it's with the OH, (small) dogs & no bikes I could put the rock/roll back in.
@@br5380 that sounds like a really terrific solution... I'm not sure how much the rock 'n' roll bed weighs as I didn't take it out myself and whether you would have to have it Safety verified when you put it back in as it's a seatbelt seat? Sorry, not particularly helpful I'm afraid.🫣🤣🤣

Hiya, the basic conversion was done before I bought the van and in the UK it's about £13,000 to have a standard van kitted out .. interestingly the whole kitchen / storage unit can be bought as a single unit for about £2000 if you have the knowledge to fit the electrics and plumbing etc ... I'm going to do an updated review as I've changed a few bits after being on the road for a while ..

i should have taken the gopro of the superview setting as it doesn't show much space there still is to make dinner or sit or move about even with the bike in the van 😊😊 .. and it's the short wheel base which was important to me👍
