    Ours will be a day van with the odd night sleeping so not interested in insulation. There are many quite large recesses in there that can be made good use of for storage space me thinks.

    That looks superb, im looking at converting my Mk7 Transit... so great tips. One thing im wanting to do is use as much of those holes in the body work for storage. There is a cool company called Kiravans that makes panels you replace the wooden ones with, and they have pockets built into them. They are on the expensive side, so going to try and make some custom ones myself that will fit in for what I need. Such a waste of much needed valuable space otherwise.

    I watched this and thought, ok yeah, I can do that ……….. and I almost have, it took you one day it’s taken me six weeks so far, 😂 I think the carpet you use is key though, cutting the carpet I bought proved to be a right mare!

      Hahaaa brilliant. I have the benefit of refurbishing houses on a time frame so this was not to bad. Dont over thing it, judge lean on the side of caution when making the cuts and yes the 4 way stretch carpet is so easy to use and cheap too! £135 total and i think 15 linear mtrs x 2mtrs

    How do you get power into the back of the van ? I’m not making a camper hut want some power so if I decide to sleep in there every now and again. I can get lights etc charger

    • @Mambafpv
      @Mambafpv  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So you need an inverter for 240 power, about 3000w is plenty, and a split / smart charger wire to the ignition to charge leisure batter. Wire battery to inverter and bobs ur uncle. Charge when driving or idling 👍🏻

    I’m in the process of converting my ex welfare van into a ‘tin tent’. It’s not insulated but I have a wife to cuddle up to.😁. We’re leaving the toilet in but I’ve opened it up to give access to the back of the van and to be able to fit a motorbike in. I’ll be using the four way stretch carpet and vinyl floor covering on the floor. It’s all very exciting.
    I really like your panelling idea, though. Did the panels come with the van or did you make them?

    Another video claiming to do it The Professional way yet right off the bat he's sticking the bubble wrap to the outside skin of the van creating induction.
    That stuff isa Radiant Barrier and if you don't know what that means or does you shouldn't be a professional. Nothing should touch the outside of the van except bitumen sound deadening. Add you plastic insulation and then the bubble wrap making sure it only touches the framed parts , not the Plat panels. When that is done you ply line leaving a 10mm gap between the bw and the ply.
    That's The Professional way to do it.

    • @Mambafpv
      @Mambafpv  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hahaaa brilliant, my first hate comment, tbh ive been waiting for it and yes you are correct 😂 its far from professional i agree but it just felt right to say it. Anyway ive lived in it full time since i made this video and i have zero issues. Could it be better? Of course it could but for the cost of the “DIY” job saved me thousands of pounds and its still going strong so apart from a few things i could have done better, im very pleased with how it turned out and how its holding up. 😎🙏🏻

    • @paulknowles9727
      @paulknowles9727 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Mambafpv so you don't find it heats up inside over the day?
      It wasn't a hate comment. It was calling out Professional which in case you are a professional it's Not.
      There's only one other vid on yt I've found who talks about Radiant barrier installation. And I'm the only other according to the thousands of comments.
      Just don't claim to be a professional job if it's not. It's misleading and thousands of other diyers out there copy the wrong way.

    • @Mambafpv
      @Mambafpv  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@paulknowles9727 listen to the rest of my video to figure out I’m not a professional. Im just ok at doing stuff. And no i have no issues in summer or winter apart from the thermal break my mechanic created when he put bolts through my roof to hold my solar panel, these drip in the winter. So the only professional job in this van is the only issue i have 😆
