Good tute, and I learned a lot about file management, but the Tribe sampler has no preffered sample rate. Yeah, if you sample on the machine, it samples at 16 bit/48khz. But I often sample and edit using Audacity on PC. If its a long sample, I run a frequency analysis and down sample, I've gone very low, as low as 6000 khz sample rate. I did notice aliasing on some samples, but this can be a feature.
Just purchased an Electribe 2 Sampler, and this video was very useful. I saw the erase samples/pattern file, but wasn't quite sure how to install it. Thank you!
Great stuff - useful tips! One other thing I think I’ve found is that the e2sallpat files also contain all the Global Parameters settings e.g global midi channel etc, so watch out for this when loading the blank pattern file :)
Hi Andrew. Great stuff. I'm gonna have to watch it again. Groove3 has an Electribe course I am considering, but it only covers the synth :(. So I don't know if it will be worth it. I also recently bought an ES2, BF sale. (Also have the Volca Sampler 2). FYI MediaHuman is gone and had some security issues apparently. Not to worry, I will try Audials, which I own. A bit more tricky is this. Tarekith's Blank Pattern File is gone. Do you know an alternative? I really want to clear out all the Korg "junk" and upload my own. Thanks again.
I am fascinated by your video, but I really have no idea where you are talking about...an es2sample.all file ??? Should I have this? Should I not have this? How do I get it?? What I do notice is that my sampler won't read all my favorite samples, dumped from my Mac to a (formatted ) SD card ;I just bought a used es2 sampler .
Hi, does anyone know if I backup all the contents of the SD card are all my patterns and samples safe? Also if you took an SD card and put it in another electribe 2 sampler, would it know and be able to play all the songs? Or is there some extra steps?
Random question, as I'm thinking of buying this machine: the PDF manual isn't very clear about A) how low/hi you can detune a sample, and B) the note range that you can play a sample over, using the trigger pads. Can you advise? Many thanks -- your tutorials are very useful.
Hi I am new user having hard time to create extra files on Electribe 2 on SD , Can you please direct me that people like my self how do I start from to create empty files
So should I loaded the e2sample.all file into the sd card, but when I put it in the Electribe and booted it up, it still has the presets. What did I do wrong? Am I supposed to do something else other than just load the .all sample and power up the Electribe? Please help me. I got some great samples I wanna use.
Helo from argentina.... can you help me, what is the really use about use the extension .000-05.all etc.... i dont understand, it could be only.075 or better 075e2sSample.all?... im speak spanish
Thanks for the great es2 content. The factory samples have a way to tag the sample as kick, snare, etc is that based on folder name? Also can es2 do ratchet triggers (multiple trigs on same step)?
If you sample using the inputs, it will sample at 48khz. I find this overkill, and since I sample and edit using Audacity on my computer, I usually export at 32khz or 44.1khz (44.1 for brighter samples and cymbals). I have used very low sample rates too, sometimes I like using 8khz or 11.khz sampling rate for a lofi effect, sounds a little like you put the sample through a lowpass filter, and it saves data/space too!
I bought the Sampler yesterday and i have been going through tutorials for 16 hours now and i’m still not able to save my work when i power off and power on again :) how did you get the multiple allpat files? Did you duplicate the empty one on your computer or did you somehow create another one on your electribe? I’m pressing write every step of the way but still i’m not able to save anyhing on the internal memory after i turn the device on again. Do i have to save a pattern file or something before powering off?
Andrew Logan When i do that it exporta the samples to the memory card but when i reboot the samples are not placed on the pads where i put them and when i scroll through my internal sample list there are no samples. Only the 001-018 init-audio in st. I think i’m using the pattern and sample clearing files wrong. I only have one allpat file (the one that clears the patterns) on my electribe.. am i supposed to load that every time i power on the device? Is it just a file that clears everything and i can’t save any future patterns on that? And how do i create a new allpat file if i need one? Sorry to bother you with this but this is wrecking my brain :)
@@epicon6 the last all pattern file loads automatically but if your all sample file has anything but the default name it won't load when you boot up and you will have to load it from Data Utility -> import sample
Andrew Logan I see the pads flashing but they don’t have the samples. I formatted the card, factory resetted the electribe and i’m trying to understand this but still can’t. I’ve been using Maschine for the last 5 years and i must be used to a far more simple machine than this. 24 hours in and i still can’t save samples to the internal memory :)
man wouldnt be easier to sample from audio in source directly?? i do that way and i don t have all this mess to handle... the only shit is the clipping a popping which really want me to crash the machine in thousand pieces.. unbelievable korg still made this problem in 2016
Yeah I agree I sample from the audio in 98% of the time, buuuuut advantages include total control of volume/dynamics, panning, and oh yeah, naming your file with an actual keyboard! So there are reasons to consider doing each...
I’ve just bought an Electribe Sampler and it never occurred to me that this would be so complicated!
Benedict Johnson me too just got mine yesterday lol

Thanks for this. The blank pattern file is useful, some of the supplied percussion samples are worth keeping but not the patterns!
Great stuff - useful tips! One other thing I think I’ve found is that the e2sallpat files also contain all the Global Parameters settings e.g global midi channel etc, so watch out for this when loading the blank pattern file :)
This is SO helpful and essential. Saved to favorites. Thank You!

How much times does Electribe system take to do all the "Import All pattern" or "Import al samples" process?
Depends on the total time of your samples, can be a while - and remember it is part of the normal boot up process

A bit late but theres n sample editor you can dl. There you can assign what type of sample it is, even though the options are limited 😉
Hey i did all that and i'm still up to 99secqs when i press shift and record to see how much seconds i have left not at 270. Do you know why it is
How much extra time does this give you?
Hi Andrew! The e2sSample ALL file from KORG is not clearing the preset samples I have. Can you help me out?
Is it called e2sSample.all in the correct folder? How about when you try to load a sample file from the data management menu?
Do you have to use 48hz samples?? Wont 41hz work too?
They will make them 48K in the machine, it runs at 48K

Hi , wat about micro SDHC card? EL2 read it?
Should work fine with an SD adapter, speed shouldn't be an issue

1:31 - Incorrect! HALF that time for the STEREO files - so you're getting 135 seconds of stereo or 270 seconds mono (not 270 x 2).
