John Watson is a true gentleman and was a great driver. I had the privilege to see him racing in my country, Brazil, every single F1 GP within 1977 and 1983. Good times.
The guy is a legend...! Though a bit before my time, I just enjoyed very much watching him trounce teammate Lauda & double-winged Villeneuve at Long Beach...
Just working my way through some of these podcasts, excellent interviews and fascinating to watch and listen to. Many thanks to the Motor Sport team for doing these. I'm not getting any work done! :) John Watson is a legend, love the stories and his commentary for the Blancpain series (and Eurosport before that). Not sure if a John Barnard interview exists but I wonder if that would be a great interview as well.

I've been a fan of John Watson from my childhood. He was my hero
I love John's interesting and informative commentary. He has bought gt3 racing to life. Thank you sir!

Dundrod!!! The absolute craziest racing track ever.
The company John couldn’t remember was Hercules in Salt Lake City.

There's not been a Barnard one yet but watch this space.
there is, not on this channel, but I saw one on youtube
Watson has the right idea about racing, it's all about heroes and villains, the technology is boring.
He is spot on regarding le mans. All motor racing has evolved far to far from the roots of racing.
And I need to stop watching this interview, ‘because I’ve got a lump in my throat.’
You know that's a Murray Walker quote, Right?
