Rudy signed for cheap (say what you want, but he brings this team's defense up from the bottom of the league right to the top), Randle is most likely gone as he will want more money than the Wolves will want to give him, and with KAT's $50+ million per year off the books they can add another piece to contend during Ant's prime instead of committing to winning now with an almost 30 year-old bigman who's been very injury prone the last 3 years (and in my opinion doesn't have a winning personality, lack of "mamba mentality").

His defense has improved last 4 games and he's been making nice passes. He's honestly one of the best passing Power Forwards in the game. The iso ball kinda sucks but that's what the Wolves are especially with Rudy and Jaden. Those 2 aren't the best offensively, especially at passing. We are never gonna thrive at moving the ball around the perimeter when we start based on defensive abilities rather than offensive. We kinda need great ISO ball players for that reason.
i think at the beginning of the season Finch told guys to play free basketball and experiment how roles takes place naturally. now they see how Randle and Dante fit to the team and all team try to do what is best for the team. So the adjustment period has ended and they play a game they can. Randle plays pretty good now, doesnt over do iso, maybe just a little bit. and dante knows his limits and doesnt do that many mistakes. now all looks nice. although i still dont know if Reid is better as a starter or a 6th man. Time will tell.
I am a Wolves fan, so obviously I am biased, but I really think that everything just takes time. Don't forget how little time this team had to prepare for the season. Randle is starting to buy in, and everyone is playing with heart. Jaden has stepped up a littleeeee on offense, and guys are still gelling. I think that pretty soon the starting 5 will be scoring even more, and for the bench, once Donte and Naz start hitting more of their shots again, it'll be crazy. If we stay locked in on defense, I think this Wolves team will be capable of blowing out ANY opponent by mid-season. Fell free to make fun of me for being a delusional Wolves fan but those are my honest, genuine thoughts.
Yep, a big roster adjustment will always take time. It took a season for Gobert and Towns to gel as a front court. The expectation for this season was that this could be a turbulent team, and that’s exactly what they are. Wolves front office clearly are valuing the idea of retaining depth by trying to keep Naz and NAW, and they’ll need financial flexibility in a couple of years when Ant is really in his prime to build around him.

Its not confusing.. they are figuring it out. They added 2 big pieces and removed a massive part of the team for more than half a decade. It just takes time.. it may not work out in the end but they are still working through it and I think a big part of that is trying to get Randle and Divo to get into the defense the way they played it last year. It seems that is starting to happen and so we shall see how the season goes but the last few games have looked much better if you ask me.
Donte hasnt been averaging as many tackles as he did last season. I'm disappointed. That hit he had on the pistons was legendary. Sacked thier pointgaurd on 4th down.

I think it may be because trading five first round picks Walker kessler, Malik Beasley, Patrick Beverly, Jared Vanderbilt, and Leandro balmaro for a guy who can’t dribble pass or shoot isn’t good long term.
When the guy who can’t dribble pass or shoot single handily makes you the best defense in the nba. He might be worth 5 frps, a good young center and a bunch of mid role players.
I’ve been a wolves fan for 20 years. I don’t get the Randle hate. He has been really good! I’ve much preferred him to KAT. Yes he has some moments when he falls asleep on defense but he plays tough. Beats smaller players when they switch on him. Has awesome post moves. Has a solid 3. Plays tough denfense one on one. Draws doubles and then hit players for an open 3. I love it! I was so over watching KAT and his sloppy soft game. I loved KAT as a person though.
Randle got the same kind of hate here in NY. Randle is a clear example of why sometimes stats don't tell the full story. If you're a true Wolves fan, you'll see what I'm talking about by seasons end. If he lasts that long in Minnesota.
