As a heat fan, I don’t necessarily want Jimmy to be traded but if it’s best for business, then whatever. I just don’t think any team would actually be willing to give up a chunk of their roster for him. The extension situation, age, injuries, etc. all bring his value down pretty harshly. Hopefully he sticks around and the heat can go on a run this year but at this point, I’m pretty comfortable with a trade as long as he goes to a contender and we get the proper value back for him

What could the Heat possibly get that would put them in a better position than Jimmy already does? Whether they get draft capital or a star, I think the best call is to ride it out with Jimmy. You think Bam wants to play for a rebuilding team? And he’s got another 5 or so years playing at an all star level at least. If you trade Jimmy, you have to trade Bam, unless you get a star player in which case, are they gonna be able to cater you to the finals the same way Jimmy can?
No you don't Bam is still young and he should be the clear cut #1. The window with Jimmy closed the second the Celtics won. They had three chances to win it all in 20, 22 and 23 and the best they did was with the best version of Jimmy ever, and the Lakers were late game blunder away from winning in 5. Jimmy outplayed Lebron in 2 games to get those wins and he was dead by game 6.

I think the thing is the chances to win a championship with this team is limited cuz of their salaries unless they gut their depth. Jimmy last I heard still wants a max contract and with the salary cap i doubt Miami doesn’t want to do that. To me the move should be what lebron and the lakers agreed to last offseason but actually do something unlike the lakers, and that’s come to an agreement with jimmy to take a pay cut if you can get help cuz outside of money that’s why jimmy’s been upset the last few years.
