    Brilliant ! this guy helped me more in five minutes than some audiophiles could in an hour due to sooooo many sounds coming from them 🙃

    I studied sound at University and soon learnt the traits of hype marketing. My acoustics lecturer letting me into a secret to simply use 2 core electrical mains cable to power home speakers. Its the best quality cable youll get. There is no difference the human ear can percieve.

    Excellent! My question is then if you have single wiring, where/how do the tweeters and woofer get designated to those parts of each speaker?

      There's a difference if you use two separate amps

  • @jimmycake7143

    how about when using Channel A+B and both set of outputs from the amp. that puts less load on the amps channels and also using Bridging plates can restrict current flow .

    • @YesterdaysTech
      @YesterdaysTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes and no, you're somehow right but very much depends of the amp and the speakers. It's about Ω ohm power. Bi-wiring speakers are not just like two different speakers fitted in the same box. If would be like that, than two speakers of 8 Ω ohm bridged together would restult in one single speaker of 4 Ω ohm. Less Ω ohm means more power required, more Ω ohm means less power required. Standard headphones are at 32 Ω ohm usually, while powerful speakers are between 3 and 6 Ω ohm. So bridging the bi-wiring speakers does not put more load on the amp because inside the box are many filters and they not work just like two separate speakers bridged together. If you're using a bridging plate or not, they take the same power from the amp. The real advance of using separate channels is that you have much more control of the sound. Excepting the fact you can balance left and right, you can also adjust the base or the tweeter to your needs.

    You are omitting the very reason why bi-wiring came to be. It’s not esoteric as you explain. The reason for this was that in early times of HiFi, cables were pretty basic and crappy. One could easily hear the impact at lower or higher frequencies of different types of cables. It was not easy to find one that sounded great in the complete frequency range. Bi-wiring was helping to solve this issue: by A/B tests one could find a cable combination that sounded best. Today, this became almost irrelevant because cables quality has much improved, there is no point anymore, unless one has access to only some crappy cables.

      Bunk. We've always had common zip cord, which works just as well for small loudspeakers as for AC extension cords. Any multi-strand copper cord 16-gauge or thicker will do the job.

    Criss cross method sound better to me. Red to top red tweeter post then black to bottom black post. Bridging wire solidcore copper or copper plate as included plates are always cheap brass or other metals with low iacs conductivity.

    I have 4 wire(red,black,green,white) 16 guage cable pre wired in my media room....then is connecting only two wires on both sides tesults same sound quality as biwiring ?does increase in thickness /guage of wire due to biwiring impacts sound quality?

    • @YesterdaysTech
      @YesterdaysTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      With 2 wires or 4 wires, the sound quality should be the same. Regarding wire gauge, it depends of your speakers ohm and distance between the speaker and amplifier. 16 gauge is great and recommended up to 30 feet for 6 ohm and up to 50 feet for 8 ohm speakers

    thank you! thats what ive thought the bridge does the same thing as if you add another set of cables..nobody seems to pick up on this..or not many cover this...its snake oil😊

    it still amazes me that people spend all of this money on their system and are NEVER happy. Theres always got to be something to improve the sound. Then, whatever they do, its better to make themselves feel better, Just listen and be happy

    Your explanation is correct if you only have one output from the amp. What you explained is not bi-wire. For bi-wire you should have an amp with A and B outputs. Connect low speaker input to A output and high input to B output from the amp. Like this the speaker will sound better as you bypass the crossover from the speaker.

    • @ajv802
      @ajv802 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Bypass the crossover? How, when you have still connected the wires to the same binding posts. The crossover is connected to the binding posts INSIDE your speaker. Bi wiring with A and B channel won't change that.
      You have just changed the position of the jumper wires.... the factory jumper connections (between speaker binding posts) or back at your amplifier output from bi-wiring. You have not bypassed the crossover.
      All you have done is double the cross sectional area of the speaker cable.

      @rogerwebb7501 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ajv802Er, nearly right! What you are actually doing with biwiring is bringing back the point at which the treble and Mid/Bass currents split from inside the speaker cabinet to the amplifier speaker output terminals, which means the treble content flows down the tweeter pair and the Mid/Bass content flows down the woofer pair.
      It doesn't do away, or bypass the crossover, but it does split it to allow the above described function to occur.....whether it makes a difference, I couldn't say!

    There is no cross-over in these kind of speaker. Your video is dead wrong you need that special two output amp per side.

    • @rogerwebb7501
      @rogerwebb7501 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The Mission loudspeakers shown do have a crossover. When you remove the connecting strips you're separating the high and low parts of the crossover. Connecting two sets of cables to the two sets of terminals means that one can connect them together at the amplifier end, resulting in the treble content travelling down the top wires to the tweeter filter of the crossover, and the mid/bass content travelling down the bottom wires to the woofer filter of the crossover.

    Yeah but then you’re changing the OHM rating of the signal so you’ll get half the power doing that.

  • @WhiteRvssian2023

    You're speaking rubbish You fail to mention that there's a back current, whhich is stronger by the woofer as it's mass is much bigger than that of thhe tweeter. So there's a feeddback that is better handled by bi-wiring.
