It was cool to see Kevin Hart's professional side. I love the way he carried himself during this. Since he's a comedian you don't see get to see that side of him, but he seems like a good businessman

If they are able to grow it to a billion dollar IP then you can look at it two ways, either celebrate because that partnership gave you the means to do it at all, or be bitter that they took so much of the company. All depends on if you're an optimist or a pessimist. If this does blow up because of the assets that Kevin and Mark already have in place, I don't think they'll be complaining because 70% of a billion is way more than 95% of a few million.

Mark has a handful of media/entertainment investments, but nothing substantial as far as I can tell. Most of his investments are sports, tech, food, and health.

As a business advisor I can only say that Black Sands actually got a heck of a deal. With both Mark and Kevin on Board they can only succeed in building and expanding their existing brand to dizzy heights

I went to high school with Kevin. We never interacted unfortunately, but were constantly in each other space every day. I use to catch the 58 bus with him and he was so quiet. It's amazing to see him now. Congratulations Mr. Hart, you sure make Philly and Washington High proud!!!

Kevin is very shrewd, you can see why he’s successful as a businessman. He sold it with substance and showed his value to perfection by identifying mutual benefits for gaps he’s saw in both sides. Great deal for both!

Before I became a full time entrepreneur myself I used to think people were crazy for turning down sharks BUT it’s not about them being stupid for not taking the offers. A lot of times it’s because of the vision they have and the personal value you have in what you’ve created. It’s your baby. But you have to be realistic and objective too.
Glad to see this deal gets done as I've actually watched some of Black Sands Entertainment animated series here on TH-cam and they were really good

I saw a glimpse of this Kevin from The Upside but I never knew it was his actual side he was portraying. He he’s incredibly smart when bringing the subject of toys. I never thought of that and neither did these people. TOYS is where movies, comic books, cartoons make the literally all their money.

But 20% would of been just for money. Since Kevin is bringing in the artist and all the tech team from Mark, that's more resources and well worth the extra 10%. They not spending more money trying to find these people or hire them, Kevin has them and its just pay for the job scope...

Sometimes the sharks at like you’re a guppy if you don’t Counter and other times they act like you’re stupid to even see if there’s a better deal. One the sharks usually do all the extras for tv and entertainment purposes also. Plus they’re partners no one person is bested than another if you want something that makes you’re partner feel uneasy explain to them I’m not trying to rip you off because you’re In A vulnerable position so I’m simple taking advantage to get more, no I bring value in not only making but saving money so that’s why I’m asking for more because besides spending time I’m also giving tangible resources that will save you 100s or 10s of thousands.
My girlfriends mom worked in entertainment for years. One aspect she always pointed out that people do not know about was how intelligent, driven, and business savvy most actors and comedians are. They’ve found success others haven’t because of this

Kevin and mark are a deadly combo, if anyone could turn that into something big it’s them.
The story might be perfectly fine, but the cgi they're using (presumably to save money) just makes everything look overly cartoony. They REALLY need to shell out for 2D, because their character designs DO NOT translate well to 3D. Honestly, taking a page out of Toei's book and doing low budget live action might ALSO be a viable option.
If they DO get to the point where they're merchandising, I think Mattel would probably be the best to partner with if they can wrangle it. Cross-compatibility in toy lines improves sales, because it's cool when all your figures are in scale with multiple franchises. The thing is, I don't think Hasbro's 6-inch or 4.5 inch lines pair up well with this IP. I don't see these guys fighting GI Joes or Power Rangers or Marvel heroes. Mattel brings MotU, and swords and sorcery is DEFINITLY compatible. They also have Jurassic Park, and Egyptians vs dinos is an... interesting concept.

Totally agree. Nothing to lose. Ask 20 and compromise at 25 if necessary. Kevin and Mark want in because it's not a big risk but the home run can be huge. Kevin out in front of this product can blow it up. He has the following. That's why Mark wanted in. He knows. They also wouldn't have said never mind we are out with another counter. Trust me, Kevin wanted a deal with them as much or maybe even more than they wanted a deal because the ground work had been done, the rest is much easier.......for him (Kevin) to blow up.

They are doing it. But first it’ll be an anime movie in theaters so they can make more money for everything else. Itl be 2D. And better than the animation you see here ofc way better

Man!! Kevin Hart was super impressive! I have not seen that side of the man. For a moment I thought these guys would talk themselves out of this deal. I wish them well and hope they become wildly successful in this amazing endeavor.
I wonder what happened to the deal they agreed upon. Maybe negotiations are still ongoing? To this day, Kevin and Mark are still not attached to this company officially. It's not in Mark's list of businesses.
On top of that, they're back to doing Kickstarter campaigns.

I understand if they dont wanna go through with the deal because 30% is too high, a 20 or 25 would have been better because thats a multi million quid company
