I don’t euro or Czech nymph - I tried it a couple of years ago and although I caught fish, just didn’t enjoy it as much as fishing with an indicator.
What sling pack did you get?
Thanks for the reply. I’ve started using euro nymphing in Colorado and feel like I’ve caught more strikes than I missed.
I have a lot of Simms gear, but did a lot of research and bought the Umpqua Steamboat 1200 ZS
It’s great for a day trip, and would carry your fly gear but not camera gear.
We are in runoff from all of the snowmelt, so I’m on an unfortunate break

Hey Alex, thanks for that, great and informative as always. I usually do a whole day on a river/stream so take a bit of gear with me, currently use a vest with integrated pack but it is a bit too small. I have been looking at the Fishpond pack you use - is there an NZ distributor, or do you need to order from the US?
There’s no NZ distributer any more bro. It just didn’t take off m, which is a shame.

Drive to Taupo, get a guide and get stuck in. You’ll learn a lot, quickly and your learning curve will skyrocket!
