Great review and great fabric choices for your shirts! I'm also a big fan of boxy shirts with camp collars! I've made 3 versions of the Hey June Handmade Willamette shirt (it's an easy hack to turn their sewn down plackets into faced button plackets) and really love the all in one sleeve. I also think the Helen's Closet Gilbert shirt is great and I really love the collar drafting and instructions she provides in that pattern.

The Willamette looks super cool! (And I love all the Helen's Closet patterns I've tried, even through I haven't tried the Gilbert.) In a way, I think once you have your perfect shirt, you can hack it into new shirts forever!

I only made one. Nice to see yours as they are in a a more fluid fabric? They look much more cool. And the fabrics are beautiful and they all suit you really nice. Thanks for the tips. I'll use them if I make a second one, it's a very nice shirt. I just followed the instructions and got the facing flapping in my nape.

The blue one is made in a quilting cotton and you might see it's much more structured. I do love the two others ones made from viscose (rayon), it gives a lovely drape and makes me feel very chic 😄

I love your shirts, especially the kookaburra one. I also hate it when the instructions are crap. In which case I would say be a bit wary of Style Arc patterns as they are known for having what I would perhaps call 'meagre' instructions. I am just making the French Navy Belinda shirt, my first proper stand collar and buttoned cuffs in a gorgeous Art Gallery fabric. The instructions are great but I am still struggling with some of the techniques like doing the binding for the cuff vent. I also don't have an overlocker, so have to think about finishes well in advance but there are plenty of ways around it.

Such a pet peeve of mine when you don't include instructions for sewers without sergers. Many people work only with a sewing machine!

Oh mine too!!!! I bought a cardigan pattern some time back and all the instructions were for a serger but without telling you that BEFORE you bought the pattern. Grrrrrrr.

I like the blouse but I think most fibre mood patterns are for taller persons, because the pattern are all so boxy and wide. I’m only 1,56 m so I don’t feel comfortable in boxy shirts or long dresses. I know that patterns can easily be shortened, but a boxy shirt still stays boxy. I don’t know if there is a way to make them less boxy and more fitting.
The fact that the written instructions from Fibre Mood are so unclear is really annoying. At first I thought it was a translation problem. I think the original language is Dutch. I often find that at least translations from Dutch to German are bad or they contain some errors. I live at the border to Belgium and the Netherlands but I don’t speak enough Dutch to use the Dutch instructions, but on the other hand I want to learn Dutch and it also would be nice to freshen up my French. 😃

Yes, if I feel like it’d be better to go with another pattern altogether if you want a fitted shirt. Of course, the hack can be done, but I find it’s a bit too much of a pain to go from loose to fitted. You’d want some nice bust darts etc.
Interesting point about the language! I also don’t like their illustrations so that doesn’t excuse it all.
