    Great spot! I also have a Witney blanket like yours that was made into a capote many Years ago and I wear camping and bushcrafting. It's very warm on the Pacific northwest mornings. I also have another early Whitney blanket that's red with black stripes that I use for sleeping in. With the two together on cold nights outside.

    Thank you for capturing my favorite time of day. (Closing scene when your pack was sitting on the sheet of Tyvek.) From dawn till then, the most beautiful & peaceful time of the day, IMO. Just watching and listening to the world wake on a cool morning. Thanks, again for sharing.

    I used to go survival camping when I was a kid. My dad was in the military and taught survival. Nice camp but a little too open for me.

      @WildernessRocks  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +See Canon Sounds like a cool Dad. This camp was open because of the location, wind and weather. I and my wife have hiked back in here and used regular tents or hammocks also. Check out our other setups, over a 130 videos :D

    Accoring to Harold Tichenor's Book "The Collector's Guide To Point Blankets" the tag dates your Witney blanket to the early 1960's. I'm not sure you should be using it out in the bush. You could sell it on E-Bay for upwards of USD $200....

    • @WildernessRocks
      @WildernessRocks  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m well aware of the history of my blanket and it’s use. This blanket is treated like a king at home and in the woods once or twice a year I take it out. Otherwise it’s sealed away from moths. 😀 still can’t believe I found it for 70 bucks at a multiple family garage yard sale

    I have to ask if you have ever been scared at night . Being alone in the woods. And have you ever had something in the woods that you saw that you could not explain. And if that scared you. And have you ever been scared packed your stuff and left the area.

    • @WildernessRocks
      @WildernessRocks  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +3flashcan I have been spooked by people a bunch of times. I have also screamed out in the night to run off a deer :D Never packed up over sounds or animals, just drunk people or strange acting folks. :D

    • @3flashcan
      @3flashcan 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks , I was just wondering . I've been spooked enough once that I did packed up and left. Still not sure what I was hearing . I'm thinking it was a bear hanging around and didn't seem to want to leave . It stayed out of sight but could hear it . Walking back and forward for a about an hour . So about the 30 minute mark I started packing and left about 30 minutes later. And it was still walking back and forth. R

    how did your blanket do, were you warm enough?

    • @WildernessRocks
      @WildernessRocks  9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +PAUL WOOLRICH It was perfect. I was fine in the high 30's and low 40's. The tyvek helps and a sleeping pad is even better if you have em. I plan on doing a lot of videos with this blanket.

    What a nice area with the sound of the creek to fall asleep. That's a very nice blanket but I have no idea what 4 points means. I'll have to look that up. The ending scene with fire and water was pretty cool. I thought your rock stool was actually a stack of rock pillows. Oh yeah, comfy! :-D

    I have to concur with Kerrie Grant as to the quality of Whitney blankets. I have 4 Whitney blankets inherited upon my mother's death. I'm half English(my mother being a war bride from WWII). Though she lived out her life in the US, throughout the years she purchased things English. Thankfully the Whitney blankets were part of that. One of them is a match to yours. One is a pale yellow and the other two are kind of a pink or chartreuse(not very manly so want to dye them if possible). You have something worth hanging on to. I intend for mine to be with me until I die. Thanks for another great video and please continue with the extended endings. Be safe.
