Yeah, I’ve already went looking for these treasures. Unfortunately I didn’t find anything, however I did find a small diner about 7 miles south of Ashland that has THE best peach cobbler.
The last one.. the chest was put in the cave on the side of the mountain. Its since been washed out and has spilled many of the silver coins onto Lincoln city Beach.
somewhere between medford and ashland haha... southwest oregon has probably the best gold in the country. especially on 199 on the way out to cave junction are prime time locations. That area in itself Id consider lost treasure. One of Oregons if not the nations best kept secrets. Its just that people can't handle the Siskiyou forest when you get about 5 miles deeper in the forest than any pickup will allow you to pull up to, also Oregons mining and dredge limitations, there are some big ole nuggets out there though. That's cool to hear the story about a pot of gold though.
Check this out. The man with the cabin, cabins are built along water sources like a lake or creek. People build cabins in ideal locations where you step outside and there’s water, and fishing etc. SECONDLY, the place he picked to hide the kettle, is a landmark in the area he could remember. The only things on maps are landmarks, when he went to sketch a map of the location, it ends at a land mark . At the landmark he used another landmark like a tree or unique rock etc. to cache it
I gold dredged the smith river on 199 below gasquet for over 20 years found pounds of gold . But i also found a small spainsh reale 1762 that came up in sluice box with some metal looked like old square nails or wedges the last year i dredged . Still have the real wish i had all the gold now but only have half pound left.
Sorry for the extremely delayed response. There is really no indication that they were looking for a particular lake. They knew the general location of the cabin. That's what they were looking for when they discovered Crater Lake. So, the cabin, and therefore the mine, should be "near" Crater Lake. Then again, they also never found the Cabin or the mine.
Ifyou like treasure stories from Oregon and southwest Washington I have a couple good ones for you. My twin brother ad I saw one of these treasures recovered at Fort Columbia at Chinook, wash.
crater lake has had many very strange events going way to current more than a handful of accounts of people young an old have vanished never to be seen again, the local native tribes consider the lake a place of evil they do not go near the lake an say all should stay away. you can look up history of lake i wouldn't go there looking for gold
I live in Phoenix oregon and went to high school here. It has never been known as fort grant. There is a story of a paymaster from Phoenix, Arizona who mas moving his stash of gold from fort grant in Phoenix, Arizona to fort thomas in Arizona and was ambushed and killed for his $20,000 stash in the 1850s. Big money then. I can only imagine this Phoenix oregon story was based on that, unfortunately. There is one website online where you can find that Phoenix oregon described as fort grant. It follows this guys story word for word. He probably made this phony website too. Shame, cool story if it was true
Like the stories, but you gotta work on the names . Eureka is on the coast. Yreka (why reeka) is the town you show. Also in another video with a tale about a Spaniard going to The Dalles, it's pronounced like "pals" but replace the P with a D. Like the stories thoughh!
Yeah, I figured out “The Dalles” shortly after the video released. Recently, I have been spending more time trying to find the correct pronunciations. That’s the problem with reading these stories, no pronunciation is provided. Thanks for the comment, and glad you enjoy the stories!
Bogus stories.... ya we all trusted this guy with our money he was a good fellow.....whatever. Worse than the Secret Gold Mine tale. Urban legend nonsense.

😂 thanks Chester! Keep at it. One day you’ll find that elusive One-Eyed Willy treasure!
Im guessing you’re referring to Callahans at I-5 exit 6
I'm positive I can find it I'm really good at solving

Loved this! Definitely want a part 2!

There is an old Hard Rock Mine at Crater Lake but it is a very dangerous hike to get there and "NO" I won't tell you where it is.

Ah with lidar now days it be easy to find lol . And there is more than one in that area !!!

Now, does anyone want to take a stab at what lake they were really meant to get too?

"Na hay lem " bay... definitely not an orygunian
Also, Ne-hay-lem....and it wasn't Eureka it was Yreka which is said why-reak-ah. So glad someone else said something....
Narrator unable to properly pronounce Oregon Indian names. Odd.
You seem to have trouble telling a story, even with the editing..
It’s pronounced Why - reka
