Estate Cleanout! What's Did we Find?

- Join me for a two-family estate cleanout in New Britain, Connecticut! I'll show you the house, some of my favorite finds, and explain what we plan to do with the contents. All of my furry friends will make an appearance, so be warned in advance!

The metallic wallpaper was very popular in the early 80’s! I used to hang wallpaper & omg I do not miss hanging metallic paper. 😭

Another great video! Such a lot of work to do these cleanouts. Along with the Yankee mentality (I’m like you - although I’m a Yankee one set of anything for a lifetime is not me!) is the fact that this lady lived through the depression. Those folks kept everything and didn’t waste anything.
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! You're so right - folks from generations ahead of us didn't waste things. It's a good lesson for us all, but probably won't stop me from having too many sets of china! 😂😂
Hi Kris, Before bringing furniture to the dump, which would be sad to me too, put it out on the curb with a big Ole sign saying FREE. Someone will nab it.

Wow you both are great and organized. I love those prints in the dining room and the porcelain vanity items in the bedrooms. This looks so tiring. I’ve been wanting to get rid of so many items in my garage but I get so overwhelmed I never get to do it. Btw where do you sell on eBay? Can you add a link?

Interesting video. I loved the Flintridge china and wish you would have listed it on eBay. I have a set of Castleton china in a grey pattern. I’m still hoping to find a Flintridge set someday. I also love your animals they always make me happy when I see them.

This was an interesting video. I didn’t realize how much work went into a clean out. Why do some people choose to do this instead of an Estate Sale?
It's definitely a lot of work, but worth it in the end. A lot of people don't want the trouble of an estate sale - strangers going through their house, advertising, pricing everything, selling, etc. And an estate sale is a ton of work unless you pay someone to do it, but that decreases the profit if there's much of one to begin with. At the end, there's still tons of stuff to dispose of. For a lot of people, it's easier to do a cleanout, especially if they have tight timelines due to a pending sale.
@@WorthingtonHome This makes a lot of sense. We donated most of my parents’ items. It took us weeks and weeks to go through their things. They had been married over 70 years, traveled the world and accumulated a lot.
Kris, I looked on your online eBay for the framed alphabet needlework that I saw in your video. Has it been sold, not for sale or a keeper for your home?
Hello! It was actually sold on an online estate sale that we did in the beginning of the summer. It was very pretty! I'm sorry that it's no longer available, but I do find pieces like it from time to time, so stay tuned!
Can you not put the furniture on consignment somewhere??
I supposed we could, but we would rather either sell it or donate it. It's just quicker and easier. We only discard furniture that's damaged.
