As a 43 year old woman that wasnt allowed to go to university or college, this would really help me achieve a life long ambition. I really hope that this becomes available in the North West of England.
I hope so too! Good luck on your journey
@@TriyaAnushka thank you xx
This video was so comprehensive and interesting! I didn't know anything about doctor apprenticeships. Thank you for teaching us
Glad it was helpful!
I need some guidance I’m currently at uni studying computer science but deeply regret my decision and want to go into medicine I have A level maths chem and physics I want to drop out this year go back to improve my grades and apply for 2025 entry but not sure if I’ll even be looked at a have ABB for a level 1 mark of and A for chem and 3 marks of an A for physics so I’ll be retaking them
Good luck with your journey! Check out some of my other videos for advice on studying and medical school entrance :)
Are they taking international students as well?
I don't see why not! They haven't explicitly said that they won't take international students.
I immediately became concerned for the poor students who I’m sure will just be used for jobs and not taught - it even happens to med students who are less capable initially let alone if you start to get good at what you do - then ultimately it’s just an increased work load and less time to study and pass exams (which is often what placement feels like). It’ll be very hard to avoid so I just hope they allow for that lost time.
But think this could really help lower income families have better opportunities 😊 it’s so important for diversity in medicine so I hope they can refine the program and have criteria that favour those in that situation. 😊
You're absolutely right!
I think this is a positive step for people from poor backgrounds can become a doctor
Agreed!
Which universities offer this?
They haven't actually released the medical schools that will be offering this apprenticeship yet!
@@TriyaAnushka It’s okay, I think I found 2! Anglia Ruskin & Plymouth
