I see some asking why she couldn't wear black but it wasn't about the color or truly wanted to be different... She stated she only really wanted black because she thought she'd look slimmer, it was fear of looking big than really wanting to break tradition. She is happy knowing she could wear white and liked how she looked, which is the most important thing.

The black dress looked so flattering because of the style. The straps, v-neck, belt, a-line. They should have just gotten it in white. That style was more flattering than strapless.

Potato with arms the moment is real you may think you like a dress but then you try the one on that gives you all the feels and you just know, I bought one dress just because I liked it and thought maybe the moment wasn’t real until I went again to a different bridal salon and I had the moment every time I see the dress I have the moment.

imagine the white wedding dress trend never came about and everyone stayed wearing whatever colour and when someone would want a white dress, people would say things like "not very wedding-y, not a wedding dress, not bridal". that would be interesting

They always use short veils..I think long veils will look more beautiful..

Most of these brides seem to be quite short so if you put a long veil that would pull em down and make em smaller. You gotta have in mind their size and height when choosing a veil

Short veil keeps the attention up on the face, which most of these plus size brides have beautiful faces. Long veils will accentuate the fuller bottom, drawing away the attention from their beautiful smiles.

Most curvy brides should avoid strapless, but unfrtunately it's so popular it always sneaks in. She would look even better in a strappy dress or in one with sleeves but in the end, if she feels right, that's all that matters.

I wish I could open one for more conservative, modest brides such as Apostolic Pentecostal, some of the Baptist churches, LDS brides getting married in the temple, etc. I am Apostolic and understand the need for more modest coverage options than most dresses have

I guess the sucsess of this show vs. other bridal shows is that larger ladies never feel good in any of their clothes untill these 2 mirical workers get a hold of them. Queen Afshan I’m a firm believer that it’s not the colour that counts but the cut/style and the right fit/size that is the most important factor. That’s for any shape and size. You only need to watch ladies on the red carpet and see some disasters even for the skinniest.

I loved the black and white wedding dress. My wedding dress was dark red and looked great. I still wear it about every couple of years, on formal nights when we go on cruises. We will celebrate 15 years of marriage in March 2020. To celebrate we will go on a cruise. We also got formally married on the Voyager of the Seas cruise ship from Royal Caribbean in Miami.
Congratulations! I hope you still got to celebrate despite the pandemic and can cruise again soon.
@@meggy0 Thank you. Unfortunately our cruise was cancelled the night before when we were already in Ft Lauderdale. But we stayed in Florida for a week and had a great time. Hopefully we can celebrate our 16th anniversary a cruise ship next year 😉⛴

The cut of the first dress really flattered her. I don't know how many white dresses she actually tried on, but the strapless one did not look as good on her as the first with the V neck. Of course, it's her dress though.
agree, the first dress fitted beautifully, and the shape just looked better on her with that wow, where you didnt notice her arms. I am sure I saw it (or similar) in ivory. Ah well, like you say, if she walked out happy thats what counts :)
I think the bride made the right choice going with the ivory dress. I think the consultant nailed it....she didn't REALLY want a black dress. Black is a safe place for her....she wanted black because she didn't feel she could be confident or beautiful in white..But when the bride finds THE DRESS....you see it. There is a change that happens when she finds that perfect dress. She sparkles in the dress, she's smiling, and you can just feel this is HER dress. I didn't see that when she tried on the black dress. It was pretty....but it wasn't THE dress. I DID see that transformation into a beautiful bride when she tried on the ivory gown. She was stunning and she knew it.

I hope the fad of strapless gowns goes away. Strapless is ok once in a while on some figures. But strapless is ever-present. There are so many beautiful things you can do with the top of a wedding dress.
I would be nervous I would be pulling up my dress all night or that I would accidentally flash the ring bearer to something
i totally agree. and even on slim figures, a sweet sleeve actually looks so elegant. And especially the back looks odd on not slim figures. but it seems like the strapless is here to stay
I love the look of a strapless wedding dress, but yes it's not for everyone. I tried a beautiful one on for my wedding,.but we all felt it shortened me even though I'm a good height! So I went for lace sleeves.
I like the strapless. It does need to be altered and put on well though, so it isn't falling down or creating a "muffin top". Jo certainly knows how to do up a bridal gown and I think this bride looks gorgeous.
I read somewhere that the purpose was because of this perception that being really covered up is for older ladies and since a wedding dress is long this is a way of showing skin so a bride didn’t look like she was dressing older than her age.

My daughter chose to wear a black dress to get married in, so to avoid the prom look, she opted for an elegant evening gown in black. It was gorgeous.

@@Drugstorec0wgirl Good luck to you. My mom didn't wear a wedding dress; opting instead for a lovely suit. I know someone else who rocked a retro 40's velvet suite and it was wonderful. Venue has to fit; weddings were in gardens.

However, in order to make my mom and my family happy, I think I want to do the ceremony in our catholic church and the little "after party" some where else. I love the idea of a beach wedding but there isnt a beach around us that is hours away lmao.

I loved the 1st one & really would have loved to see her in the second black one, but I really get it. Although she did look more like a lot of other brides in the one she loves, that’s the whole point. She grew up thinking she’d never get to look or feel like a bride, & yet there she was looking so beautiful. She got to live her dream & I’m so happy for her!
I really hate when brides get talked out of colored wedding dresses.
It sounds like she did want a white dress, but knows black is slimming. I think they did a good job at picking up on her signals there. Her wedding day isn't the time for her to feel ashamed of her body, she should pick her dream dress.

She didn’t really want a black dress, that’s why she started crying when she saw herself in the ivory/white dress. Her friends knew that and was giving her the support , the push she needed to wear what she really wanted to all along.

My mom got married in a bright red dress, I come from a Hawaiian background so we can actually wear whatever color we want but I like the traditional white, something about a bride in white and what it used to represent back in the days. Times have changed but I think a lot of women still desire that part of the tradition.
