I just noticed something else they do. The obviously make appointments. One bride at a time. No comparing to the dozen other brides and budgets in the store. Price must be set in advance so there is no 'overselling'. The focus here is the bride and her dress. So amazing how this shop works so well. Love you!!!

I am 66 now and I still struggle with my weight and it started when my mom projected her weight issues on to me. All my life the message always included my weight No matter what I did or accomplished- the weight was always present as an issue.
All the women in my family were always obsessed and one of my grandmothers would comment on my and my sister's weight every time she'd see us, even in her dying bed, first thing she said after 3 years without seeing me was "Did you gain weight?"... I can totally relate. But you know what? At some point I decided that that was not my story and I wouldn't give any more importante to my weight or what anyone thought and I stopped doing diets and within a year not only did I get way better mentally and emotionally but I even got slimmer. Your worth does not depend on your weight or what your family thinks of you. When my grandma had finally passed -this same woman who would always tease me and hardly ever be kind to me-, I went to the home she was living at and she had a huge picture of my face on her wall and would tell everyone that seeing me brought her peace... So... Whatever they would tell you might not even be what they even though of you!

When he died, I told her, "Now you don't have to worry about being seen with him." I've said for many years that weight is the last great prejudice. I don't understand why people are obsessed with what someone else weighs. These ladies have the uncanny ability to raise a person's self esteem and for that, they are to be praised.
As a person who was told all of her life, "you'd be so pretty if you weren't over weight" I really felt for Alicia. I was sitting in the exam room with my mother when I was a teen and our GP told her flat out "Don't say anything to Beverly about her weight." Unfortunately she never followed that advice, to my detriment. I love this show because Al and Jo treat their brides so amazingly. Have they degrees in psychology as well as being bridal stylists? ? ? ? They deserve all that awards!

I can’t hardly speak for the emotions I am feeling after watching Jo & Al help this Young woman who is so vulnerable find her wedding dress. Understanding that she just wanted to be like every other young pride in a beautiful dress and searing it she might not fit in the dress and there by destroying her feelings that much more was a big chance but they took a chance on the zipper dress and she looked really lovely😊♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ I hope distress helps her to see her self as beautiful and worthy and she’s able to Slowly lose weight, NOT because she’s a plus size but for her health & so she can do more with her husband.. I wish her ALL THE HAPPINESS IN THE WORKD♥️♥️♥️ Thank you Jo & Al for being the kind and loving and compassionate individuals you are to your clients. That sounds like my youngest daughter and me. She lived with until she was 34 and her son continued living with me until he was 9. I get to have him every other week because my girl is really so thoughtful and sweet and beautiful.

When Jo said, "It's just a bit of fabric." my heart ached for Alicia to see her tears. She was devastated. But, as only Jo & Al can do they found her the most beautiful dress. Alicia was a completely different person. Happy & confident in a "bit of fabric."
Honey, don't think that you're too young for weight loss surgery. I was 55 years old and physically in pain. I an 5 ft 1 in and was 289 pounds . I got to a real low point in pain and said enough is enough. I went to an informational meeting and got assigned to my surgeon. I ended up having the gastric sleeve donei had tried every diet but it kept coming back plus more I wish I had done this in my forties. I wouldn't have gone through the pain and heartache. Rethink the surgery. Do more research. And love yourself for who you are and not what other people want you to be ☺️☺️☺️

My evil grandma told me she would give me $20 for Xmas if I lost 20lbs but that I would get no presents if I didn’t. I was 8 years old.
