one thing all the fly fishing videos miss is a real close up of the actual fly pattern they are using. Thanks for that. Always take a nice close up picture of the fly pattern it's very helpful. I've watched countless fly fishing videos watching folks catch countless fish and they never talk about the pattern. So thanks for that.
Thanks for the feedback. I'm hoping some of my videos are educational and not just getting people to watch me reel in fish. I take a lot of people out fishing with me. I like watching new people catch fish.
This video answered one of my questions that I had over what the trout sees, but I never thought of looking into it, I was always one that thought it was a silhouette and the shape was more important. It makes sense as sometimes with the dry fly they will only take a set colour and anything else is ignored, as I have found out when I was experimenting. I have the waterproof case and a go pro with a mounted LED light with an aim to do some dipping in the river to aid my knowledge on what is there and the structure. A new subscriber as I found you on the FB group "fly-fishing still waters and rivers".
Thanks John for subscribing to my channel. I am new to this but thought it would be good to do something different than just post video of me reeling in fish. My wife is a photographer and when she was shooting a silhouette with the sun behind, that was my thought exactly. It still is true a fish would see a black silhouette with the sun directly behind the fly, but that would only be for a split second as the fish, fly and sun are in a direct line. Thank you for the feedback.
Great tips on where the trout will sit and the perspectives they have.
Thanks for the feedback, a lot more adventures to come this season.
