I'm late to the party here, but I'm watching to make sure that my back sleeping with my rather severe back issues is on target. I've been using pillows to elevate my legs because I get a yearly MRI for my migraines, and they put a wedge like this there years ago, and I thought I heard angels sing, it was so immediately comfortable. LOL I then started doing it at home. Untreated childhood scoliosis is bad news in the late 50s after a 10 lb. baby in my late 30s. That's my spinal headline, with a cervical bulging disc and a lumbar herniated disc, and more of those come. I've watched y'all on and off and subbed today. Thank you!

The first thing with sleeping can be complicated as you have to be able to get to sleep. I am watching this in February 2021. I don't think I have slept since 2019. If you get my drift. 2020 was a useless year. Who slept? Yes you can sleep in the chair if you get five seconds that you weren't under high stress for what was going on in the world...

My step-dad was a chiropractor who had a manipulation table on which you could lie face down with your head in a middle-of-range position,I.e., head facing straight down. A cushion on each side of the face supported the head. Pretty relaxing to lie down on, if someone wasn’t cracking on your spine. I know I’d drool sleeping like that

Aloha, love ypur show! Question- I always get my back messed up whenever I get a cold or flu and get in odd positions to breathe better while sleeping. I also have sleep apnea that the cpap mask doesn't help. (No masks fit right, and I have sensory integration issues, with possible autism. Dercum's Disease, Asthma, type 3c Diabetes, & I use a wheelchair.) I injured my sciatic joint plus lower back in a car accident. I have a pain pump between L1 & L2. ( It's going out this year. Don't know what to do. ) I also get chronic Lymphedema with mixed Dercum's Disease. Any ideas? Have you ever managed a compression pump at night or cold therapy? I have about 8 pillows. I was looking at the giant donut shaped pregnancy pillows. Any of these things ever help? What might help?
I'm also directing my adult daughter to your vlog. She is crazy into body building. She has no coach. She had been very frail while I was away in intensive care, & then the hospital back in 2013. She was 87 pounds and 5'5". She is now 5'7" and about 131 pounds. She was afraid of getting big like me and we had little support. She has an Asian build, and hypermobility. Please direct us where to find out more. Mahalo from Hilo. Take care, Kai

I made my own wedge out of a old foam mattress to keep my feet elevated and out of anterior pelvic tilt, but sleeping flat on my back puts pressure on my neck so I can't sleep. I have taken the legs off at the bottom of my bed in hopes this will angle me more down and put less pressure on my neck, I'm hoping this is a good alternative to buying an expensive wedge for the back

Hi Bob and Brad. I have been struggling with pain in my neck with spasms in my neck. The pain often feels like shooting tingling and numbness and it starts at the base of my skull. It sometimes even feels like a squeezing sensation at the base of my skull. Sometimes I have arm pain with the neck pain. Could this be a pinched nerve?

Great ideas, but how do you keep all of these pillows in place?

I find that with my weighted blanket - which I really like - I seem to sleep more deeply but also much longer in one position. Hoping to hear if sleeping a long time in one position is good or bad or indifferent.

If the goal is to keep a neutral spine while sleeping, with ears in line with the shoulders, would the ideal sleeping position include "not" using a head pillow at all (assuming you are also a back sleeper)? Really enjoy your videos. Thanks!

They said, slight curve, straight, slight curve. Head on a flat, non-elevated position causes strain to the neck.

Morning from beautiful sunny Cape Town. SA. Thank you for the tips. Do these positions apply for right hip pain too?
