    This is gold! Thanks so much.
    I have to drill a 3.5" core hole through double brick and i have already drilled my 10mm pilot hole.
    Was going to do similiar by cutting a hole in timber to use as a template, but your method makes more sense, apart from the fact i already have the 10mm pilot hole

      I’ve done both styles and they both work great but the pilot bit guarantees exact placement and tear out on the other side.

    I was using this drill for mixing mud and stud drills. Thanks for enlightening me to this new application.

    There are also center bits you can get, that made of 2 crossbars that fit in your drill, with a center bit on it. For the same purpose, but no wood needed ;-)

    What specific dewalt tool you used? I want to make a hole out of a 7 inch thick concrete for cctv wiring.

    Really nice idea! I would use a larger sds bit (3/16 x 12), It will break the other side, but just a little bit, then the plywood and the tapcon. Thanks!, Sorry for my english.

    What's the brand of core bit that you use? I see a LOT of core bits advertised, but a LOT of them say "do not use on concrete". I have to bore a 2.5" hole in concrete to install a fence door post support. Can these bits be used on concrete? What brand are they, and where did you get them? I want to bore a 2.5" hole, go down about 2 feet past the edge of the concrete wall footer, install a 2.5" diameter post shell that goes from the surface down into the ground, and then install a 2" fence post that can rotate, while carrying the fence gate, into the sleeve pipe I installed through the concrete.

    How to make a 4inch hole in a exsisting 3 inch hole in wall brick wall, can you double stack the hole saws?

    • @campbellbuilt
      @campbellbuilt  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, there’s a couple solutions.
      1st would require two wood hole saws. Cut a plug out of a 2x6 using both a 3” and 4” wood hole saw bits. Attach both wood plugs together and use that to temporarily get your 4” started.
      2nd is us the method in my other video th-cam.com/video/EJhBEKcSbj0/w-d-xo.html

    Can we use the core bit on a regular drill to do a hole in concrete? Or is it necessary to use a hammer drill? I need to make a hole for my kitchen sink drain 😩 Newbie with tools 🤷‍♀️

  • @rickbraden4272
    @rickbraden4272 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    8m new at this so I may be wrong but I know you can get break out with carbide core bit in hammer mode. But why would you get break out with a diamond core bit that's not hammering? Thanks.

    • @campbellbuilt
      @campbellbuilt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Typically both sides of the block wall or concrete will be visible to the eye. I want a super clean hole for that reason since there’s no good way to repair damage after the fact. Yes your right about not using hammer mode and being better for break out but concrete is a funny thing. Block is especially susceptible to break out regardless of how your drilling. Good question.

    If did this on my job I would fire him. I’m an electrical contractor, everyone has proper tools on the truck or at shop. Plus it took way too long to lay out, I could have drilled 20 holes. They make dry core and wet bits that makes it simple
