  • How well does a cheap Amazon hole saw hold up when drilling 4 inches of concrete?

You were suppose to remove the pilot bit after you are seated in the concrete

You skipped a very important part! When you drill it to a certain depth; then there is a core left in the concrete. right? How do you break that core? This is more important if you drill into a deeper concrete (let's say 8" wall) and then you go around 2" and then have to take that core out to continue. How do you do that part?

You just drive a wedge/screw driver/chisel in the gap and the plug will snap right off. In this case it spontaneously broke off as I went.

Not bad for 20$ even if it did 1 hole it paid off !

That's what I thought. I fully expected it to tear the carbide off but it didn't.

I have a hammer drill that uses that kind of bit. Harbor Freight special. It worked great for me and you are welcome to borrow the tool.

According to my numbers that is a 2 1/2 inch bit. Really that wasn't bad, drilling a hole that size with a 1/2 inch drill motor. You are right, a larger SDS dedicated hammer drill motor would have made a big difference. Think I will get some of these bits as one never knows when the need will arise. By the way, not to be a pest, but don't forget about your ideas on organizing your bits and pieces of things to save. We are at the place where we need to make some changes around the shop and you are always full of good suggestions and ideas. Thanks for this video it is very helpful.
