    I recon the person who is buying this of you will be more than pleased with it and knowing that everything has been done properly on the build makes it even better also gives you a bit more room for future projects keep up the good work Mike.

      I could have sent this to a local garage and for $60 they will spray the underside in the same product - but it is a flash and dash job.
      A barrel of this cost me $120 and I used 11L
      They do not inject into cavities which is where most of the trouble starts
      Thanks!
      Mike

    If you get an empty 3 litre coke bottle with the label removed, you can insert the spray nozzle into it and see what the spray pattern will be like inside the chassis, and work out if you need to rotate the spray whilst removing it to get all round coverage.

    Hi Mike a top tip when waxoiling or undersealing we wrap the exhaust in kitchen foil. As you know it can be formed easily,then just pull it off when you're done. Regards James at jb auto clinic. In the UK. We do a lot of landrovers here.

    If you push the lance too far into the chassis and catch the quick release coupling on the side of the hole, the pipe pops off and shoots up the chassis never to be seen again. Don’t ask me how I know this! 😂

    I've got a drain cleaning attachment for my pressure washer. 15m long very thin hose with 360 degree nozzle on the end. Never used it on a chassis but it should do a great job of blasting the inside of a chassis leg and even pulls itself along as some of the jets point slightly backwards. Could clean entire length from one entry point.

  • @MrRobmellor

    I had the same thought as you about the front to rear wiring harness Mike. Why put it in the inside of the chassis where it can not be seen or repaired, wish I had done the same as you did now, maybe I could have repaired the wire for the reversing light if I had. Never mind, we live and learn. Please keep the video's coming, they are the only contact that I have with reality during this lock down thingy. Stay safe, Yorkshire Rob..

    • @BritannicaRestorations

Good for full body shells as dosent distort like sandblasting

    • @zaks90v8

    • @nickboylen6873
      @nickboylen6873 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lots tried that in the 80s, with disastrous results. It breaks away from the metal with the flexing of the chassis, then traps water and completely stops any damp from evaporating.

    Hi Mike - about to do this job. Being in the UK I'm using Waxoyl - the official method of using it hot sounds like a pain. Anyway, using similar tools to those you're showing here, I've been experimenting using a 50:50 mix of Waxoyl and ATF. Seems to spray and cover very well and gets nicely into nooks and crannies on some scrap items. I seem though to remember you saying in a gearbox vid somewhere that ATF contains cleaning agents? If so, anything in there that's going to rot my chassis? Also - I assume there would be no problem with used ATF out of the gearbox/transfer case?

    • @BritannicaRestorations
      @BritannicaRestorations  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      ATF has Chlorine I am told - is not corrosive
      Used ATF should be ok

    2 door jeep overlanding in the Arctic watershed (love defenders too...the older ones not the new junk). Why didn't you use Krown . I use it all the time in aerosol or in the gallon container sprayed into frame channels and other nooks and crannies . I know you have discovered this rust proof concoction as well.....sooo why didn't you spray it down the gullet of the frame of that beast ??

    • @tonypacke6954
      @tonypacke6954 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It certainly is, they start rusting as soon as they are driven off the assembly line. Do the job yourself, don't have to jack up as you can crawl underneath easily enough. I did my 2015 110 XS with Dinitrol products. You need to check over it every year, and the most important thing is to jet wash the underneath if you go off road as it's the trapped mud that causes all the problems.

    • @BritannicaRestorations
      @BritannicaRestorations  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Well, you cannot galvanize over paint - the acid dip prior to galvanizing will remove rust, but not paint
      I have seen used chassis a few years after galvanizing, and some had rusted from the inside
      I used to do this over 12 years ago, but now I only fit new chassis - for me it was not cost effective
