Amen Razar.
I'm with you
Such a master of vocals. He was never given enough credit ❤
This song had very heavy rotation on the radio when it came out. Maybe not in 2023 but they were one of the most popular bands in the mid 80s and beyond.
Bc they had two good songs
broken wings have been the BIGGEST hit since, well, forever
100%
Very right
What an amazingly beautiful voice! We dont hear talent like this anymore! The 80s rock! Thank you Richard Page for helping me rekindle my 80s feelings during this crazy world of 2023!
People don’t recognize and acknowledge this band’s excellence enough.
Lol what a millennial comment. Mr. Mister was a household name in the 80s. Don't know what you're talking about
Extremely vivid emotionally
I do.
WOW WOW WOW. Richard Page was even better live than in the studio! What an amazing vocal performance!
I know! Incredible. Why he wasn't a vastly bigger star is beyond me...
Oh yeah! Of course he was! He performed back ups for so many other bands as well.. big bands that is like Motley Crue, Twisted Sister, Even Robert Plant when I went to see him!!!
@@S_Lancaster_222He also sang background vocals for Kenny Loggins and Debarge in the 80’s. Toto and Chicago also asked him to be their lead singer when their original singers left. But he politely declined so he could stay with Mr. Mister.
Agreed. Thats how I judge all musicians of all genres. These guys were smoking hot live!
That intro! Wow,so much talent & that voice! The 80s rocked.
Richard Page’s voice sounds like how this song makes the listener feel. Soaring, ebullient, light, and untouchable. No one could sing the song the way he did. Everyone in this band is a monster musician, but his vocals are otherworldly.
Superb on so many levels... no backing tracks (synth arpeggio is running live), no autotune, incredible song, great musicians.... rock/pop perfection for me.
And best of all, no cell phones and look through the audience and there are all White faces! This beautiful moment in history will never come again.
I'm a child of the 80s and somehow missed how incredible this song is. Now I'm 46 and find this to be one of the best male vocals I've ever heard. Can't stop listening to it!
And even today an incomparable powerful voice ... Long live the 80s ... Where music was still music :-* .... A Child of 84
Man, that ending acapella just blew my mind. The vocals are absolutely spot on tight.
All pre-recorded and running along with the sequences though, you can hear it from 5:00 on when Richard's lead vocal drops out at points.
Oh btw, its even clearer on their Daytona Beach performance for MTV. Exactly the same sequenced material running at the end, and Richard Page drops out frequently while a big chorus of vocals carries on. I'm assuming you must have years in the music industry, otherwise you wouldn't be talking absolute drivel without some experience behind you to back it up, eh?.....

@@EddieG1888 I hear it, I spotted it immediately. The backing vocals are too perfectly compressed and EQ'd to be live, plus it sounds EXACTLY like the album. Also, like you mentioned, when the lead singer drops out, you can still clearly hear his voice in the mix of backing vocals - he's got a very distinct tone colour and you can clearly hear it, just quieter. So many of those backing vocals are in an extremely high register, the chances that you would have three separate vocalists that could hit those highs live so perfectly without even breaking a sweat, most vocalists couldn't even hit the notes that the lead singer is hitting, let alone the high harmonies above that. Not even Def Leppard or Queen could pull that shit off so perfectly live and they were both reknowned for having some of the best live backing vocals of all time. My guess is that these vocals were laid down in the studio by professional singers brought in to fill out the original recording - it was extremely common at this time. The guitarist and keyboardist are singing along with it, but there is clearly a backing track. The drummer is playing to a click (you can see his headphones), I would imagine the tape had that synth ostinato and the backing vocals on it, maybe even some percussion. In 1985, synth sequencers were so notoriously unreliable that almost no bands used them live and opted instead for a backing tape. The other hint is that the band don't do any backing vocals at all for the earlier choruses, only the acapella one. My guess is that they wanted to minimise the use of the "piped" vocals but it would have sounded too empty in the acapella bit so it was needed and there's no way the band could pull it off live. Doesn't make them a shit band, I like them. It's just a reality of the way things were done then and in many cases still done today.
@@hertzfistproductions8149 Absolutely, though I would suggest that it was likely Richard Page and Steve George did the pre-recorded backing vocals; they were already pretty much first call for backing vocal dates in the LA session scene (thanks to Kenny Loggins hearing the 1981 Pages album), alongside guys like Bill Champlin (Richard does a great interview about this elsewhere on TH-cam; Steve George's high register is incredible, and Bill Champlin was known as "the dog whistle",as he could reach falsetto pitch in FULLVOICE!!.).
Like you, I reckon they've lifted the backing vocals straight from the multitrack tape, and run them alongside a sequencer playing SMPTE code to keep the the arpeggiated synth lines in time As you say, Pat Mastelotto clearly puts on headphones to monitor the backing tracks., and does so every time they perform this live, including the MTV Spring Break footage.
And also like you, I would agree that it doesn't make them a shit band, not even close. Page and George are amazing musicians (they were session guys in Andy Gibb's band for a start), devotees of Zawinul (who Richard Page actually worked with!) and Weather Report, and running multitracked backing vocals just augments and lifts the track up where it deserves to be. Steve George is particularly is an astonishingly multi-talented musician, and he deserves it to himself to make a comeback, even a solo album, which there's no doubt he's got in him! I actually believe that George Ghiz (the manager of Mr Mister and Pages) makes it an annual appointment to suggest a Pages reunion, but he's yet to have any success.. So Slug, if you're reading this, THE WORLD NEEDS A PAGES REUNION!
The amount of big name bands who have "IEM mix" videos on TH-cam these days shows just how commonplace this kind of backing track augmentation is these days! ;-)
And regardless, its still one of the best live performances of Kyrie that anyone will find on TH-cam. Absolutely amazing!
One of my favorite songs from the 80’s. Richard Page had one of the best voices during this time. The song title, if you don’t already know, means "Lord, have mercy" in Greek. Great band Mr. Mister 😎🤘
Had no idea what that meant but love it song kicks ass yep still stuck in 80 s
I remember the first time I heard this song in the golden 80’s. Even now The intro still leaves me speechless….
no autotune, no return, just an amazing talent !!!!......im soon glad that i grow up in the 80's
He sounds as good live as he does in the studio. Fantastic singer.
Oh, That Voice...... shakes me to my core.
One of the best live vocal performances I've ever heard. Loved the song when it was first released but this is insane.. Better than the studio .. Would loved to have to been there .
Proper musicians.. Not like today's crap
this song saved my life
Really? How?
Really? Tell me how?
It’s giving me life rn 😂
Lord have mercy, brother. 🙂
I started working at the Ritz in May of 1984. I was lucky to work over 600 shows there. That venue was a gift of music. I worked this show and I am just happy to be able to see it now. Thank you for posting it.
Richard Page is a damn phenomenon of an artist and stellar singer!
WOW. HIS LOOKS AND HIS VOICE!!!!! in no particular order

Goosebumps everytime i hear the intro ❤
What I would do to travel back to the 80's and see him live 🤩✨
Amazing pure talent, no auto tune he has a pure voice great hit songs Richard Page as far as I’m concerned was among one of the best singer song writers even today he has written many songs, love his voice such power and control. Thank you for bringing your amazing voice to the forefront kudos to you Brother.
4 outstanding musicians absolutely at the top of their game. What a track
Love this song
Never get tired of 80s songs
The best years of my life
Go 80s
80-89 best music Ever!
Beautiful voice. Absolutely amazing
This video is criminally underviewed
My friends and I from the Capitol Theatre's Performance Video team shot this show(for MTV, as I recall). It was a wonderful experience, in spite of the difficulties of shooting anything in the hot sweaty, floor bouncing, Ritz.... thanks to the audio recording team (Effanel Music, Inc., formed in 1980 by Randy Ezratty) and of course all of the production team.
Do you know what type of cameras you were using? I am presuming it was not digital in late 1985.
You guys shot a great song this group was not appreciated enough this guy can sing his ass off love the music
STILL MY JAM.....2/18/23
Best 80s song
The intro to this is outstanding in this definition. Always loved it on the album, but much more solid here. … lovely.
Jan 24, 2023....still a masterpiece!!!!
This song is the BEAST
WOW! I have never seen this live version. What a GREAT song! Pure talent and artistry.
I love ❤️ the 80
Magic era and music what a fabulous band and singer...just shattered 🙏💖👌💞
Richard is obviously immensely talented with that spectacular voice.. and he’s also very very attractive with beautiful eyes.
02/14/2023…..i miss you Richard Page!🥰love Mr. Mister. 😘
This live concert took place the day, before my 16th birthday
Very good clip this one, timeless Song!
Love this song...
Voice from heaven
Man I loved this band back then! I still have this album in cassette!! Such great music and talent!🙏♥️😎👍
Holy! What a set of pipes!
Just to give a glimpse of the caliber of these guys, the drummer was Pat Mastelotto who played later for King Crimson, he initially formed part of the "Double Trio" lineup of 1994-1997, joining Bill Bruford on drums. So, a monster prog-rock drummer on this "pop band". Pure genius on radio on those days....
...and Steve Farris has quite the resume also.
My favorite song
1:38-2:15 so much power and control, gorgeous tone
Wow! Richard Page is better LIVE than even in the studio ~ he’s got the pipes that’s for sure!!
Mr. Mister was a personal favorite growing up! All their songs hit the top 10 billboard charts quickly!!
This one & broken wings.. always being played on the radio and still are. That’s saying something right there.
Robert Paige Is a BEAST
One word excellent

This Live version of Broken Wings gives me good memories of an ancient, wonderful decade. Love it. ❤❤❤❤❤

Mister Mister Magic..doreber in my heart...i always remember my big brother "DIMAS"RIP with this beautiful song.
This performance is so tight that I feel guilty for not having to buy a ticket to see it.
I really miss this kind much and the good old days ✝️🎼🕶🙏🎈
Great song ! Great vocals ! Great short-lived band ! And yes, 'Lord have mercy' on us all !
Amen Christ have mercy indeed!!!
Let me say This! They are awesome Live, My wife and I were invited to a private Birthday bash, at a small Hotel, and they were playing for 2-hours, They blew my mind! Never heard them before. SOOoo good at a small venue like that. Maybe 200 people.
I talked to the keyboard player afterwards, super nice guys, They do 100+ shows a year Coast to Coast, If you like 80's music, and you can get a chance to see and hear them, you won't be disappointed, I promise you! Love them!
Who, Mr Mister?
As far as I'm aware its only Richard Page who plays their stuff live; Steve George is apparently retired, Steve Farris does hunting tours, and Pat Mastelotto is working with his wife in The Mastelottos, and released an album of King Crimson cover versions earlier this year.
@@EddieG1888 I’m thinking that’s what he meant.. that he saw him perform live with other musicians that took place of original band members.
Well Richard always was “Mr Mr Mister” the face of the band. Such a talented group though I wish they’d get back together!
Musical poetry ✨️ 👌 🎶 💕
Exceptional singer. During this techno period, it was hard to know who had talent. This guy is legit.
Superb band, superb songwriting. 80-ies man. Great to have been part of it. I was 17 back then…🎉
What amazing voice... and a live, great
I absolutely loved this group and still do
Great representation of what it means to give your all to a performance!!!
Just dropped the mic 🎤,phenomenal on so many levels, timeless song,so much better than anything today!!
Awesome performance !
Mr. Mister great song and performance!! A great memorie from my unforgettable 80's!! I was 20 years old when this song comes out!!
Too bad the differences they had back then. This band deserved to have gone further. His songs marked my childhood and adolescence and today with 52 years, I continue to enjoy them.
The riff = perfection
One of the best performances I’ve seen … ever!!!!
Wish the come back. One of the real bands in the 80s. My daughter was 2 and danced whenever Mr Mister would come on. My last child wasn't even on scene yet. Seems like yesterday. Yes, I still have and play their cassette Welcome to the Real World. ❤ 🤍 💙 🧡
They actually are active again from 2010 after a 20 year break!
Incredible.
Fascinante ....mister mister❤❤
Si definitivo de lo mejor en sonido y voz.

The singers power, pitch and control are Amazing!! Great song!
Back when musician's were very talented! I was 15 when this happened and there were many bands that were great performers! Used to listen to the radio and my walkman!!!!!
What a voice!!!!!
Omw.... This guy had an incredible vocal... Awesome song. Studio perfect and absolutely live ito his vox
Richard Page is so clearly America's Sting. Blond hair, blue eyes, plays bass, thoughtful lyrics. I like his voice more than Sting and the Police are one of my very favorite bands! As for this performance: euphoric. Moved me to tears.
My God he sounds so amazing!!!!
