It angers me I don’t get to use the big ships, I own a gallon and want a brig but I can’t use either without everyone telling me I need to a small ass sloop
It's stupid that you only have the auto-order "raise the sails" and not the order "raise the front sail". I often use that to safe time, but then the random team always raises both sails. My native language isn't English, so I don't know if the order in English is called exactly like that.
I would say no :) , you will be better of running a sloop. Its hard enough to patch the front part of the ship with a full crew onboard. You will have the speed, but if you go facewind with sloop you should be able to escape what you dont want to sink ;)
I've been practicing it since one of my consistent crewmates gets less seasick on a brigantine compared to a sloop. My opinion's mixed on it. Loot seems to scale with the brig size. Speed control is more important, and you need to prep the ship earlier when approaching islands. It's SO fast.
