I think a bigger percentage of AEW’s audience blindly worship them much more than WWE’s Audience. Tony Khan is the king of overpromise, underdeliver. AEW since its inception has been full of over promising and not delivering. Never forget that they promised to make wrestling feel sports like, meanwhile they put out exploding barbwire garbage matches that they can't even deliver on. It makes sense why none of the legends or agents backstage call him out on his stupid decisions, the guy refuses to admit to being wrong about anything.
Vince offering them handicaps like Big Show and Christian to try and turn things around. He just feels sorry for them and is telling his old standbys to take the money and blow their cap space while it's still good for it.

There is also a reason why comedians only release a video once a year or so - once you know their punchlines, the jokes lose a lot of their impact. Wrestling is like that too - if a wrestler does the same thing every match, the more often you see them, the less impact it has. Gimmicks matches mean less the more often they are seen. The trouble is, the Attitude era normalised big matches on TV every week so I have no idea how a company would dare to try and step it back. It feels like the companies are clinging on for their lives but not able to change the downward spirals

I have never gotten the big deal with these matches? Half the ring is taken up so basically all you can do is punch and kick. Even if everything goes off perfectly,the big explosion is nothing special. It is like if when Big Show and Brockesnar imploded the ring if there were bags of baby powder under it.
That Kenny sucks at building thing could have maybe worked if Eddie didnt die like that. What they should have done was have Kenny and the good bros come out and laugh at them like they set it up to scare them and gave Eddie a legit heart attack. But they cant do anything on the fly or have any concept of anything not laid out
Tony Kahn and Jon Moxley quickly deflected responsibility, threw their world champion under the bus and made Eddie Kingston look like an idiot. Moxley shit on the crappy explosives while the guy who "saved him" was selling the damn explosions. Eddie tried to protect the angle going forward and his friend and his employer took a massive shit on him

I saw one of these explosions matches from Japan with Funk and Foley where the explosion was a dud (although still not as bad as AEW's dud), as the crowd booed, Funk stood up angry and had this look on his face like "that sucked. What the hell?" I would have preferred if Kingston and Moxley did that. The other problem with this type of match now, if Moxley survives a 3 man beatdown and an explosion.....how can you believe him ever selling a move in the ring ever again.

I bought every AEW PPV since they got on TNT, except this one. I lost my fandom in November, although it really started last spring/summer. They were decent when they had long term programs, like Jericho vs Moxley and MJF/Cody. There was a lot of wrestling. Now it's a ton of dumb shit, the same random, endless spotfests, and poorly booked cack.
It's unfortunate that every time there is a real glimmer of hope that AEW can create some magic in pro wrestling, I check out Jim's perspective and he's incredibly convincing as to the reality to the situation.

There is a reason why magicians last as long as they do. It is because they dont give away the secrets behind the magic tricks
There is also a reason why comedians only release a video once a year or so - once you know their punchlines, the jokes lose a lot of their impact. Wrestling is like that too - if a wrestler does the same thing every match, the more often you see them, the less impact it has. Gimmicks matches mean less the more often they are seen. The trouble is, the Attitude era normalised big matches on TV every week so I have no idea how a company would dare to try and step it back. It feels like the companies are clinging on for their lives but not able to change the downward spirals

I have never gotten the big deal with these matches? Half the ring is taken up so basically all you can do is punch and kick. Even if everything goes off perfectly,the big explosion is nothing special. It is like if when Big Show and Brockesnar imploded the ring if there were bags of baby powder under it.
That Kenny sucks at building thing could have maybe worked if Eddie didnt die like that. What they should have done was have Kenny and the good bros come out and laugh at them like they set it up to scare them and gave Eddie a legit heart attack. But they cant do anything on the fly or have any concept of anything not laid out

I saw one of these explosions matches from Japan with Funk and Foley where the explosion was a dud (although still not as bad as AEW's dud), as the crowd booed, Funk stood up angry and had this look on his face like "that sucked. What the hell?" I would have preferred if Kingston and Moxley did that.
The other problem with this type of match now, if Moxley survives a 3 man beatdown and an explosion.....how can you believe him ever selling a move in the ring ever again.
