If Jim Cornette is giving you advice on Promo's, take it!!
That's the great thing about Cornette; even if you aren't going to *follow* his advice *word for word*, at least keep an ear out for what he says because he's got a solid reasoning. I know for sure I don't agree with 100% with Jim all the time, but it's a good point of view to let speak.
Corny's promo on Paul E Dangerously and the Original Midnight Express is still better than anything on AEW and WWE
Jim is only correct about not having a Disqualification stipulation as a way to protect the business and wrestler’s credibility.
Still, running out the clock guarantees a draw, a good match for the audience and protects both wrestler’s credibility a lot better than a DQ.
In case you forgot, most of the young guys in AEDub don’t take advice from the veterans.
AEW Fans: Hates Vince and the rest of the McMahon authority figure doing long promos
AEW Fans: marks out for Tony Khan eye rolling promos
AEW Fans: Vince’s bookings are bad and out of touch.
AEW Fans: Tony’s bookings are long term story telling.
Tony Coked up Khan is a fucking goof and yes the frustrations of running a wrestling promotion has taken its toll and goes nuts when somebody says this is fucking awful definitely has never heard no in his life

The crazy thing about Impact is that theyve consistently had the best womens division of any of the "major" promotions for quite some time. But yes, its all us same smart marks watching Impact, AEW, and increasingly even WWE.

Running towards the stimulants
AEW is a LOT like local independent wrestling. These local promotions are full of wrestlers who are marks for each other and they get into the characters and storylines they're doing a bit too much. They're more into them than the fans are. In their minds, they're all creating masterpieces and they live inside an echo chamber where they cannot accept any outside criticism about what they're doing. These local companies also have trouble growing new audiences and keep a small niche group of fans who follow everything and love them no matter what. The nonsensical things they do might not make sense to a casual fan who happens to go to the VFW Hall in Poughkeepsie, NY to watch wrasslin', but to the neckbeard sitting next to them, they're watching Masterpiece Theater. The takeaway from all this is that AEW, like local promotions, are too inside because they know that if outsiders saw their product, they wouldn't like it. This has been proven with AEW's viewership figures. Every time they spike big, they drop right back down the following week.

I always feel bad for Tony S when he's forced to do those promos with $ mark Khan, Tony S always looks like he's forced at gunpoint to be there.
Tony went from interviewing the Horsemen, Magnum TA, working in the Monday Night Wars to this. Its sad.

Khan would be more interesting as a “man behind the curtain” type character where you rarely (if ever) hear anything from him directly (he could use messengers, and occasionally you hear him talking to/yelling at someone in his office with the person storming out without you ever actually seeing Khan himself.) You as a viewer should have no idea who Tony Khan actually is or what he looks like (he could be sitting next to you in the stands and you would never know it.) That’s how reclusive the character should be in my opinion anyway.

I watch Impact but not AEW and know a few others who do as well. In fact, some of them have said that they've taken a hiatus from watching Impact recently due to the awful Khan promos. It's like a guy arguing with himself as both Tony's were constantly bashing Impact and taking jabs at them while no one from Impact ever responded on the show. It was bad, very bad.
Tony Khan is exactly what Matt Cardona would be if he was a billionaire. The AEW booking is exactly like one of Matt's figure fed videos on his Major Pod youtube channel lol. They are like 9 year olds trapped in adult bodies

I watch Impact and dislike AEW. After they didn't call a DQ on Moxley attacking Omega during Kenny's match, I gave up. I believe that was there 2nd Dynamite show.
Besides the gaga and haha on Impact, which I hate, Impact is a nice booked show, not perfect, it's better than WWE & AEW. And I feel Scott & Don are playing Kahn, which is hilarious because he doesn't know better.

Compared to today's shit, that was a heck of a promo from Chrome Metzler.
He was one of the early "youtube shooters"from the mid 2000s youtube wrestling community. I had flashbacks when he mentioned Kent Jones, who was a nutjob. Bill and Doug, Moralvirus, pspower, ROHStyles23 etc I used to watch all of those guys.

It's funny how all the things that Tony said before AEW started made a lot of sense but now he is going the opposite way. I think he had the right idea at start but when his thing began he just said "screw it", I think he gets influenced by other people very easily and he just said yes to whatever the Bucks and Omega wanted.

I think Tony’s promos are so odd to watch , it’s necessary tv at this point 😂. Jim and Brian are spot on however

Russo was this clean cut guy in WWE, and when he went to WCW he was behind the scenes on tv as "the powers that be" then came on tv wearing sunglasses and jerseys and baseball bats trying to be cool, making himself the champion.
I WOULD NOT BE SURPRISED, if Impact and AEW had a feud and Kenny Omega and Tony Khan turned on Callis because he's employed by Impact. I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if Tony Khan made himself the heel manager for Kenny Omega.
