Holy sh!t you still got the g35 vids going! I went through 2 of these and 2 Honda’s and back to owing a g35 my first 6speed one, glad to see the help is still there thanks!!
Aaron, I really enjoy you are upping your game. Attention to detail is a MUST, otherwise Murphy's Law will bite you in the ass. Fortunately I've haven't had any issues with my fuel gage level. On most cars, the wiper makes contact with a resistive strip. Either one gets worn to the point it will fail to complete the circuit. Some cars, it is replaceable. I don't know if it replaceable on the G35 or an entire fuel pump is needed.
The LEDs on the gauge cluster started flickering and then the fuel gauge quit reading correctly. Is there a possible correlation that the entire cluster is going out? I haven't done anything yet. 08 G35x sedan 174,000.
Damn i have the same issue, swap pump, secondary leveler swap, even bought a new cluster guage in and still the same issue, about to tell wife to fix it on her own 😆 🤣
@@riccysnow1760 I had the same problem as you guys. My needle showed full tank and all of sudden I was out of gas stranded on the highway. I went to the dealership the same week and they told me to replace the sending unit. I replace them and same problem. My needle was not reading the correct gas level, until I went to a local shop and after a full day of testing wires and etc, they told me to change the Climate Control Temperature Module. What it did it stopped my needle from not reading the correct gas level. In your case it may be the cluster also but for $10 just change it fist and see what happen if it doesn't work try the sending unit and fuel pump and lastly it may be wiring.
So, my shop did a bunch of research into this issue, and it turns out there's a module in the dash that's causing the majority of our fuel gauge issues. Problem is, everywhere they and I have looked, that module is no longer available. 😡 Maybe someone will take it out and see if there's a simple fix involved or maybe some sort of replacement. It would figure the part most likely causing our issues is discontinued. Lol! That being said.. Nice to see your G up and running and them turbo sounds are sick!! Can't wait to boost my G Sedan
@@AlexGarcia-rt4tc first, the odometer reads properly. Second, the problem isn't with the gauge cluster. There's a module in the dash, which is what's causing the fuel gauge problem. The larger problem is that module is no longer being sold new. Meaning you're forced to track down a used one, and there's no guarantee it won't do the same thing. This is a known issue across numerous models as well. The G35, M45, some earlier G37's I believe and even on older Nissans.
@@AlexGarcia-rt4tc gotcha.. I've already replaced my cluster once, and just about everything fuel related that COULD cause the gauge to be off. So my issue is def the module in the dash.
My fuel gauge just has always been a little over past full 😂 replaced and checked both units so I’m assuming it’s the gauge cluster itself but too lazy and scared to fix it lol
@@realmadridFS7 after replacing both fuel pumps and sending units, I took apart the gauge cluster itself and had to re-solder the circuit board and attach the connectors back together 😅 but afterwards it work instantly
You fell off so hard the Aaron Newman with 49 subs comes up before you. Watched all the time until I messaged you for help on my rev up build for you to never respond on fb 😂 sad day cause I thought you were actually cool at one point. Even bought some of your merch. But now I like to visit from time to time to see if you produced anything of real substance.
Sorry if I never responded man! Have hardly ever used fb until recently. Definitely fell off the youtube grind you're right about that. I am definitely grateful of everyone who supported and bought merch and showed love on the channel. Including you. Sucks I don't produce much content now a days. But I'm working on something better for myself, and working on myself can help me product better content in the future.
This is how many VQ owners have this same issue lol

i have rebuild the cluster, switched both fuel pumps and it still doesnt read that well
I noticed you running z1motor mount does your steering vibrate when at a stop/idle?

Guys if you're still having issue with the gas gauge after replacing both units, replace the Climate Control Temperature Module. Trust me.
what does this do? my needle jumps from full to half tank to full

Don’t drive if it’s leaking gas in there, I got sick from it. The o ring didn’t seat right because it expands when you take it out.

My simplest fix, reset trip A miles every time I fill up 🤣 220-250 miles I know I should be close to needing gas (bout 5-6gal left)
You know there’s companies that you could sent you odometer to so you can fix this issue
