Trains at Liverpool Lime Street - 04/07/2023

Filmed on 04/07/2023. So, it has been a while but it is time for us to get back onto the tracks. Now, normally at this time of year I would either go on a weeks holiday or a mini break. But, not this year. So instead, I will be going out for three Tuesdays in a row to make up for the holiday absence. Kicking off with the busiest terminus stations in Merseyside, connecting for Greater Manchester and beyond to the boarders of North Wales. Yes, this is our visit back to Liverpool Lime Street (Season 10 Episode 13)
Since our previous visit back in 2021, train services were still quite limited to say the least but happy to say that Liverpool Lime Street is now busier than ever.
Northern on this day was only running hourly stopping services between Manchester Oxford Road and Liverpool Lime Street. This is due to a weeks overtime ban which lead to trains either being delayed or even last minute cancellations. So, Northern introduced a shuttle services running to and from Warrington Central. We also see Northerns daily stopping service from Manchester Victoria to Liverpool Lime Street.
Transport For Wales, the first of their 3 carriage units entered service of 197104 which was running on their Chester to Liverpool Lime Street services. The future of the class 175's is questionable for now but lets hope their future will be for the best.

I still can't believe anyone would want to go from Liverpool to Cleethorpes in a Class 185, especally when seeing the Newcastle service sat opposite in the form of a Class 802.
I used to commute from Manchester Vic to St. Helens Junc in a 142, it was awful. So nice that it's all electric now.

How times have changed. Well, it would've been Nova 3 diagram but due to cracks found on the chassis, majority of them are withdrawn with very few of them in service.
Well, it's Electric all the way now but mostly class 802 worked. Northern operates 2 daily stopping services from Manchester Victoria.

@@RickyNowis Bizarre that cracks have been found on barely used stock. Yet Chiltern trains runs similar trains every day with nearly 50 year old, much loved coaches.

@@alanmolyneux5957 yea I have and compared to even small cities it's very small, there is literally one shopping street in the city centre and that's church st, Liverpool one isn't anything special either, compared to proper cities like Manchester Birmingham and even stoke it's very small.
