I weirdly enough related to Cartman in this special, even though I was an essential worker. It was so peaceful, no tourists crowding the streets or packed trains, plus absolutely nothing to do at work. If there's one thing that I'm gonna miss from those times, it's that peace and quiet.
Same. We started closing early, no one was in the store after the first few days, I would just go in and do a cleaning shift (only cleaning cuz of covid) and then get to leave. Ended pretty quickly, its more busy than its been in years now
I just love when Randy mentions Pandemic Special he's talking about both the weed business and the name of the episode "The Pandemic Special has to end, well because then it wouldn't be a special" 🤣
Hey everyone, thanks for all the support these last couple of months, I appreciate you all ! Also I apologize for the lack of uploads, I’ve been very busy with school and work. This video has actually been finished for a while now, but when I went to upload it it was blocked by Viacom on the grounds of copyright infringement. I appealed it and they denied the appeal, so I’m currently in the process of a second appeal, however the video isn’t blocked as of now so I decided to make it public. I’m not sure if it will stay up, but I figured you guys deserve a new video. Anyways, thanks again for the support! Edit: also I am aware I put part 2 twice lol my bad
Did you notice that when the scene shifts to Disneyland and Mickey Mouse the statue of Mickey and Walt has the same ominous feel as the Kim statues in North Korea Implying that Mickey runs Disney similar to how Kim runs North korea
The scene where Stan breaks down really hit me. I'm an adult an I've surely thought about the affects on very young kids in their inital formative years -like babies and toddlers- and how this will be the norm. But I really hadn't thought about the psyche of young kids (approx. age group of the sp kids) who are old enough to have a relative grasp on their world and schema. They're old enough to understand that this isn't what they know, but they are still...just kids. Idk it hit me hard that I'd never even considered that particular developmental stage until this episode...
Wow, this was such a well constructed and well written video! You are a very underrated content creator, this definitely deserves more attention. Keep up the great work!
man i was like cartman i loved the fact that we were homeschooled i did so much better than in normal school but then the pandemic calmed down just a bit and we went back to public school
With this high quality of content, I was surprised when I saw the sub count. I look forward to the day when that number hits the thousands and hopefully even millions :)
@areyoutheregoditsmedave mainly that not taking the vaccine was selfish and that masks worked, but I would have to watch the episode again to really remember it all
After I watched this video I expected you to have way more subs than actually do. If you keep up this quality you'll be one of the big boys in no time!
What’s kinda funny to me is that I got to go to build a bear for the first time ever on my 17th birthday, which was a mere week before the shutdown. Poor poor butters.
The Pandemic Special and The Vaccine Special saved my opinion of South Park. The last season before this was very meh to me. I have restored faith in Stone and Parker. And the last few season before that kinda sucked in my opinion
When it talks about build a bear I understand, I was supposed to go with my class to Washington DC, we were told we would go next year then the year after that, now we know we will never go
Speaking of unrelated humor and despite loving adult animated series I never actually expected to find the funniest side characters to be a frikkin towel! Lol!
Know this is an older video and the pandemic is mostly behind us now in 2024. But for myself the pandemic, somehow was just, for the most part a good change of pace. Yes I was constantly worried for my family worried they’d be taken from me by the virus. But at the same time on a personal level I was still more or less happy. Not having the monotony of going to school everyday was a welcome change of pace from the past decade and a half of doing it. As an introvert myself being able to stay indoors but still able to talk with my friends when I wanted to meant that I didn’t feel chained down.
My school was extremely stupid, and started school without any quarantine, and didn't require a mask or temp checks the entire time. I'm surprised and thankful I didn't get sick
you got a lot of thing wrong when it comes to the real facts with the pandemic, and i think you kinda missed the mask thing and fauci. I disagree with a lot of what you have said on this one, but its ok,. You need to do more research, cause its simple to say ‘ anti mask.. etc.. they poke fun of both sides
I loved this episode, as well as your channel. I personally related so much to Stan,I hated not living my kife as always... i was felling has i was living the same day over and over: staying in the computer for the whole day to study and crying. That was my routine. I'm so happy that the whole situation is over. It had also some perks though
Part of me wishes I was a kid like Cartman during the pandemic. I was 24 when the pandemic started so I couldn't really relate but I would have loved to get to stay home and not have to go to school and just sit on my computer all day browsing Facebook or whatever while my teachers talking about whatever on zoom. I definitely would have been very unproductive but I would have killed tell all this free time away from the actual school building like Cartman did
How were the police supposed to handle people looting and burning down entire neighborhoods and sections of cities. The pandemic was hard enough already and they caused excess misery and hardship to thousands upon thousands of their fellow countrymen and women.
Burning and looting also happend before the pandemic, not like they did a thing then. They could've certainly stopped it if they wanted but the powers that be didn't care.
I don’t agree with South Park take on president garrison in the special, but when garrison shows up with a flame thrower I busted out laughing so hard.
Maybe i shouldnt say this but when the episode showed cart mans perspective i was with him all the way, since i was a kid going to school every morning i was dreaming of staying at home for 6 months to do nothing and it came through i was literally praying to god (i sound like a demon saying this) Lmao maybe i'm Cartman 🤔
Watch the next 2 episodes and you realize that isn’t what cartman really wants. And cartman actaully grows up to be really sucessful compared to stan and kyle
@@npcimknot958 But come on it's Cartman its bound to happen that he disguised it all as a plan and i know about the whole broship thing but again i think Cartman is planning something
11:59 no not everyone. I loved doing nothing and playing video games while collecting unemployment. I hate going to a job that pretty much hates everyone and have absolutely no free time.
I found the special fantastic, but i did miss out on some of the relatable moments because where i live never really had lockdowns or mask mandates. We lived pretty normally through the pandemic.
i like how south park doesn't just make fun of anything for no reason, if they make fun of something they talk about the bad parts or funny parts of that thing. i'm sure they don't mean it personally :)
Trump killed a lot of comedy. He was the go to for every comic for years....& sadly still is. I remember Bush being the sane, but nowhere near on the level of Trump. So much of comedy these days is just "Trump bad".
this episode was the one of the best, they made the covid-19 pandemic sound ridiculous when they talked about the animal that started infecting everyone with covid-19, like you have to really laugh at that to believe its real, and most people still think a bat infected everyone from the virus lol
Lo lit might sounds stupid.. but Tahts where all viruses come from bro.. and it did come from bats lol. Sars 1 came from birds.. aids came form someone doing it with a monkey - thast where he whole joke is. Viruses jump from species to species.
I loved the empty streets and places. Overpopulation feels so suffocating in overcrowdet places. And it's only becoming worth because the world population keeps growing, and more and more people will be fleeing from drouth. Climate refugees is one of the next big problems we have no solution for.
Thinking about it, I would appreciate a bit of lockdown now. Not the people dying part, I hate that bit. But it being socially acceptable to just stay inside all day and not have to interact with people would be bliss.
I related to cartman so much, at the time I didn't have too many friends, and the friends I did have all we would do is talk anyways, so we would just text. no-one I knew died from covid, and a lot of the non-covid related tragedies didn't really affect me as much. I loved online school for the same reasons he did. me saying I relate to cartman is gonna put me on a list istg

I particularly liked the corporate ads pretending they actually care about people.

Finding this kind of quality writing and video is very rare specially for such small youtuber
True!
It's nice.
He's a good and smart kid. Can't wait for his take on the latest special
He truly is one of my favorite youtubers. He is so chill to listen to.
For real.
Did you notice that when the scene shifts to Disneyland and Mickey Mouse the statue of Mickey and Walt has the same ominous feel as the Kim statues in North Korea

Quite an impactful moment when Cartman doesn't kill the pangolin.

I spent time at home with my hubby, went biking in the country side, renovated the house and lost weight. An amazing year 👍

I had COVID when the episode aired, it was a very good episode and I laughed my ass off.

I love how the special is a time capsule of 2020 now that so much information has changed and been debunked or proven right.
like what?
@areyoutheregoditsmedave mainly that not taking the vaccine was selfish and that masks worked, but I would have to watch the episode again to really remember it all
That this video is super good. Didn't realize that you only have 150 subs until I was halfawy through it. Great job.
Such a great video, this channel deserves so many more than 240 subscribers.
I doubt butters parents would have actually taken him to builder bear.
channels as good as this one are like 300000 to 1.
keep it up g, its cool to see someone like this on the come up
just started watching you, your amazing. i’ll be here to stay
Am I the only one who didn't have that much of an issue with covid? I'm annoyed more by the inflation is contributed to
After I watched this video I expected you to have way more subs than actually do. If you keep up this quality you'll be one of the big boys in no time!
great video.. already waiting for the next one ! don’t forget me when you pop off
I’ll remember you ;) just keep your pfp the same that’s how I’ll identify you haha

Ya ngl cartmans response was 100% my response. I literally never talked to anyone before so nothing changed I just got my ideal life for like 2 years.
It's crazy how you can get stoned and watch these with your buddys or learn life lessons from it
Surprised you didn’t mention cartman showing kindness at the end
I actually planned to mention that but didn’t realize I forgot to until I finished the video haha
What is most crazy is.. cartman thorugh all this became a better person.. out of everyone.
What’s kinda funny to me is that I got to go to build a bear for the first time ever on my 17th birthday, which was a mere week before the shutdown. Poor poor butters.

Never thought someone would be more obsessed about south park than me! :D
It’s crazy to me to see how much you’ve grown ina year, keep goin man
When it talks about build a bear I understand, I was supposed to go with my class to Washington DC, we were told we would go next year then the year after that, now we know we will never go

youre so amasing at your content, well deserved subscriber
best part about this era of south park was that it was applicable then, but it did NOT age well lmao.
I've never been so happy with the YT algorithm. Keep making these video essays, you are doing great!
Oddly enough 2020 was one of my the best years.

Wait I didn't see you were small, I saw this and figured you had at least 30k, someone needs to advertise these videos they're great
We all want our lives back
You deserve more subs man, one day you'll get them keep up the good work
Great video very much enjoyed! 👍
If there's anything!!!! You can say... South Park - never holds back!
Bo Burnham's song 'comedy ' from Inside hits exactly what you're talking about. "Should I be joking at a time like this?"
This guy really doesn’t know that South Park is making fun of his own views?
Explain
This video is a essay of this episode not about his views on covid
My school was extremely stupid, and started school without any quarantine, and didn't require a mask or temp checks the entire time. I'm surprised and thankful I didn't get sick
"3 years ago"

it feels odd watching back videos from 2020 in 2023. everyone was so sad its crazy.

The Ending to that special with Garrison was a warning, and thankfully America heeded it. This video was awesome

Meaning he is still really Awful
Basically the entirety of his relationship with Heidi and Season 23 especially Mexican Joker
Watching this video years later, both it and the special aged terribly.

Conclusion from this special: Randy Marsh created C*vid

Florida did have a some weird policies regarding deaths due to Covid. But they’re also the state known for being absolutely insane…
I reacted the same way as cartman
What streaming services/countries can you watch the SP specials on?
A bit late, but you can watch it on the south park website.
How about an episode satirizing the annoyance of Karens. Call it Karenocalypse. Make it happen Trey and Matt! ❤
Poor Karen McCormick

huh??
As an agoraphobic, the lockdown was everything I’ve ever dreamt of. I had so much fun being left tf alone

It's sad that they had a lot to about Trump, but are deathly silent about the trash administration of today.

So much of comedy these days is just "Trump bad".
