I never dared to dream that this day would come, but it's come at long last. I want this to be a full LP, but a single episode will be enough.
+LabTech Just as an aside, you got rid of the two people on the away team that would've helped a lot on the derelict ship; Data has night vision and Geordi has enhanced vision. Engineering handles repair to parts of the ship damaged in the ship battle portions of gameplay. Failure to repair various systems causes problems like shitty shield recharge, weaker weapons, and longer travel times because the engines are fucked. It doesn't cost anything to repair, just time, and you can allocate manpower to repair things faster. It's a time sink, really, but if the battle's been bad enough, it's absolutely necessary.

Adam Hart-Dyke I don't know, TNG crew was pretty straight-laced, I don't see that kind of crude profanity coming out of them. Miles O'Brien maybe, given that he's not an officer, but he always seemed too meek to say things like that in front of the brass.
DS9, on the other hand, THAT'S where you'd be seeing f-bombs dropped left and right. I mean, on a station run by a guy who punched out Q instead of trying to have a moral debate with him, you know that's the kind of guy who'd peel the paint with his language, when the cameras are off.
To be honest, however, the Enterprise got jacked up far more often than DS9 ever did, so if Picard ever spoke to Engineering saying 'what's the status of X?', I don't think anyone would have more of a right to respond 'shit's fucked, yo' than Geordi.

Side note: the canon name for the Ferengi homeworld is Ferenginar. Either the devs didn't pay attention or nobody at Paramount thought it was important enough to tell them this.

Okay am I insane when I say I absolutely love it when Pat talks about Star Trek? Seriously, they should just get Pat, Matt, and Plague in a room and just have them talk about Star Trek for like an hour and a half, I'd love that shit.
Whenever Pat talks about the really, REALLLY trash episodes and the crazy stupid shit that happens that doesn't make sense, or a when a character does something that's ridiculous, I actually do love it, it's sometimes my favorite part of the podcast.

My god, it's been 21 years but I still remember this game. I completely ignored the objectives and flew straight to a romulan prison planet, fucked shit up with Worf then ran into a borg ship and got the captain assimilated. I'm amazed watching this that I managed to get off the ship. Holy crap it was complex for a SNES game. Loved/grew up watching TNG. Yes it had some ridiculous and contrived moments but still hella fun to watch. I'd absolutely marathon a full series of these guys playing it.
Right, I'm gonna go ahead now and assume the ending will be that the Romulans betrayed everyone, just like they always fucking do.

Geordi and Data can see in the dark. Geordi has green night vision, and Data has blue thermal vision. Data can also breathe on planets without air. Data and Worf deal more damage with their phasers, while Beverly Crusher can heal other team members.
It's not a faithful TNG game if Data isn't OP.

You'll be able to enjoy the jokes in Red Dwarf more if you watch Star Trek. It's kinda' what half the jokes in Red Dwarf are about.
Red Dwarf is like "ST: Distilled Bullshit edition" so if you want to see similar bullshit trickled at a slower pace totally watch it. Also to everyone else go watch fucking Red Dwarf! Yeah!!

I had this game growing up, and I got about as far as they did! I think after years of having it I finally go past the derelict ship, but there is another ship fight right after and I could never get past it! Hard game.
4:35 No, that area of space was particularly torn up from people warping through it, but it was a problem everywhere. Later Trek series just didn't mention it again because having to go everywhere superslow was annoying.

Whenever I see Star Trek I always imagine the show as just a bunch of people stuck in an office who enjoy reading the fine print of contracts, all while staring at screen saver and calling it warp speed, hell even the briefing room, not so much the chairs but just that image looks so hilarious to me.

The Genesis version had way better music and somehow controlled better. I got about half way through the game and gave up because the puzzles were way too hard. You had to spread your team out to different parts of a map and coordinate switches to doors and turning on computer terminals. Shit made the summoner trials in FFX look like a cakewalk.
