The Philippines' connection with the Czech Republic is; the friendship between our National Hero Jose Rizal and Ferdinand Blumentritt who's from Prague. Blumentritt is a place in Manila named after him : )
It’s nice to know the friendship between the Filipino and Czech people was welded by Dr. Jose Rizal and Ferdinand Blumentritt a Czech!! The performance of the Czech choir is so impressive that caused my goosebumps to come out! Thanks to everyone and also for sharing!! MABUHAY!! (Long Live!)
As i understant, ferdinand blumentrit is from Austria. He is a friend of jose rizal and he was the one who lent money to jose rizal that was spent for the initial publication of his book "NOLI ME TANGERE".
I kinda made my own English translation to the original Filipino version. Ikaw ang bigay ng Maykapal (God gave me you and...) Tugon sa aking dasal (...you're the answer to my prayers.) Upang sa lahat ng panahon (So that in all of the seasons,) Bawat pagkakataon (and every moment,) Ang ibigin ko'y ikaw (I will always love you) Ikaw ang tanglaw sa 'king mundo (You are the light of my world.) Kabiyak nitong puso ko (You're the other half of my heart.) Wala ni kahati mang saglit (Nothing can divide my time...) Na sa iyo'y may papalit (...and no one can replace you,) Ngayo't kailanma'y ikaw (now and forever will be you) Ang lahat ng aking galaw (All the things that I do...) Ang sanhi ay ikaw (...is all because of you.) Kung may bukas mang tinatanaw (If I can see my future,) Dahil may isang ikaw (...I can see it because of you) Kulang ang magpakailan pa man (Forever is not enough...) Upang bawat sandali ay... You know that OPM is good when wven the foreigners are trying to learn and master the song.hope that other filipinos would appreciate opm like foreigners do.this show that the phil music industry is very versatile that even foreigners use filipino song in choir competitions.
