Enthusiastic, dynamic and talented choir director who rehearses with self confidence and poise. Communicates with humor and clarity direct vocal examples of his desired outcomes of diction, tone quality, blend and musical expression. You can hear the choir instantly responding to his positive immediate coaching and promptings. Lawrence Laureano is demonstrating the real reason people want to sing in a choir, to be directed and guided into the emersion of their voice with other voices and become part of a uniquely human choral sound. God’s graces and blessings on this gifted young man and for many, many years to come, may he enjoy his chosen musical career.

In high school we sang this at a national choral contest in Manila along with Baleleng and Ako kini si angi /leron leron sinta and wonnnn. Am a proud Filipino/cebuano. Hearing this made me cry and remember such happy days as a child. I wonder if they understand the words. It is a very happy folk song about Rosa's life. Coming from the mountains selling stuff at the town market , to get by. She joins the town bonding or gathering which was a common tradition in the Philippines, without planning , people would gather to sing and dance. But Rosa is talented with BALITAW , an extemporaneous exchange of verses or words about love , done with graceful dancing , with a man who would challenge her for balitaw. Because she is really good at it , she wins over the man. And the man ends up druelng over her beauty and wishing he could win her love.

I'm so happy watching this video, foreigners singing our folk song. The way the conductor teaches every voice and the correct pronunciation of the visayan words and his happy gestures really bring life to the chorale group.😮

This is just a very beautiful song. This is the best version by a foreign chorale. The diction and enunciation are on point. I hear no accent like it’s being performed by native bisayan-speaking singers.
