I had an interview a few days ago and I'm really not sure how it went!
It was meant to be 45 mins and it was 1 hour and a half!! 😄 they did ask me little follow up qs with things I did mention previously in the interview and it did feel very casual and relaxed. We got on straight away and it was very comfortable so hopefully it was a good sign! 🤞☺
UPDATE: I GOT THE JOB :D

Same here hope to hear back this week or next. The interviewer said "I will reach out to you" and gave a time frame. When I applied a month before (same position within my company) those of us that didn't get it had a round about time frame and all did not match saying they will reach out when it is done and the ones that got it had a more specific time frame. He was prepared with my resume and the interview went over by a half hour.

The hiring process has grown to be a nightmare, back in the day you looked for work in a newspaper, applied in person & usually hired same day. Today it's apply on line, but if your resume doesn't have the right "key words" it's never viewed by human eyes. Then there's multiple interviews, psychological testing, background checks, credit checks, drug, alcohol & tobacco testing, they'll also be checking your social media. You also need to be the right age, ethnic, gender & race. These requirements are to work at the lower paying jobs, it gets far worse the higher you go. Happy job hunting everyone, it's a jungle out there, be well armed.

    • @amasion2882

hattie nuff : A huge problem is excessive choices (both of employers and applicants). It’s possible to apply and interview for 10+ jobs and not be hired. It costs time, money and emotional and intellectual energy to interview knowing you’re less likely to be hired. In the past companies only interviewed candidates they were seriously considering for a position. The interview alone was a good sign you’d be hired. Not anymore.

    • @MiniSpears

I agree I got a jobs they want my Social Security number upfront to do a background check and credit score check before even bring me in for an interview and to make sure I’m a legal US citizen. Racist. they don’t need your Social Security number before an interview they need that after an interview or upon hire or job offer. Background check cost money and no job will pay that til you accept a job offer. Then there are other jobs that they want you to sign a form for credit score because of your credit score is bad they will not hire you and I don’t feel comfortable having a job check my credit score because that has nothing to do with my job performance and some jobs say if you have bad credit score they think will steal from them or you’re irresponsible but honestly my credit score is bad it’s because I’m lacking the funds to make ends meet

I just had a second interview with the Department Head of the company that I'm applying for and it lasted for more than an hour. The interviewer knew that I was underqualified; I knew the basics but this job requires more than just the basics. So he kept on asking whether or not I have the passion for banking and whether or not I want to keep improving in my career enough to put in the hard work and effort. He also taught me a lot of different concepts and he also gave me different perspectives on the banking industry...
Let's just hope for the best!

My suggestion for anyone reading this would be to NOT sit and wait on one employer for a job unless you can financially afford to. Keep it moving on other job interviews and if an offer comes up that you like even better than take it. I have sat around and waited many times waiting on a job to hire me and they did NOT, and I lost emotionally as well as financially.

This is not true at all... Honestly I would be worried if I got a job on the spot, as that can sometimes mean desperation on the part of the potential employer. Most reputable employers wait a day or so to see if you send thank you notes or otherwise follow up with them, and then if they are truly interested in moving forward they check references. The whole process can take weeks!

It has happened to me that when recruiters start talking more specific about the job and responsibilities is a good sign. Also, if they start saying like: when you are working for us this and that will happen... they use “when” instead of “if you get the job...”
Also, when they introduce you to people in the office or walk you through the office to meet the environment. Also, when they ask you if you have any other possible job offers landing, and when they start discussing start dates.
When they answer your follow up note (email) fast is a good sign.
And finally, when they start selling the company to you. Explaining all benefits the company has for you etc etc

When they tell you to "take care" at the end than you won't get the offer and "We'll get back with you next week". If they act all bored and rude than honestly I wouldn't want to work for them anyways. Some employers intentionally keep a straight poker face as to not give anything away, lol.

Thanks for this video. I find it important to practice reality, rationality, sanity, and logic about judging the success of a job interview or now after the fact and while pending the employer hiring decision. One would not wish to be crazily incensed about the interview and then come to find out that they are not extended and invitation to fill the job position.

Nowadays, these signs are difficult to gauge. I did an interview yesterday that lasted 2 hours! I had to do a written situational "questionnaire" with 4 scenarios with subset questions. I was told it would only take 15 minutes. It took me 30 minutes before I felt comfortable submitting my written responses! I met with the accountant first, then the Administrative Supervisor then the VP of Finance. It was the most arduous unorthodox unconventional interview I've experienced. This was for an Administrative Assistant position! My enthusiasm waned everytime I saw a new person. But I asserted myself during the interview and made a point of duty to sell myself. I won't find out until next week.
With regards to hiring, these actions can be either positive or negative. One HR friend of mine says the fact that several management personnel met with me is a good sign. However another HR manager says I shouldn't rush to conclude I'm hired since they didn't hire me on the spot and they may conduct interviews for probity. Which means they already hired someone internally but for formality must advertise the job post externally. She even says she's been in interviews for 2 hours where the conversation flowed organically and everything went smoothly. She was confident she got the job. However, she was sent a letter the next day saying the position was filled by another candidate. So you never know.
All the best to everyone during this capricious/ unpredictable year due to covid. I hope we get the job/ careers of our dreams and continue to excel at everything we do.
    Love from Canada 🇨🇦.

Well basically, trust your gut when you leave the interview or do a test or anything related you will feel in your gut! If you make her think about situations and make yourself memorable it’s easier to get hired. To do this dress different over dress is a good thing, talk about something that may relate to the job if you don’t have one! Example- no experience wants to work in McDonald’s- interview question- why do you want to work in a place that provides pressure on you everyday- answer- I like the pressure I use to be in a soccer team I would be screamed at verbally abused put on the spot and I got out of that I came out with the win and I felt a sense of amazement that I did it that feeling of pressure makes me want more and this jobs applies that well trust me I will win

The problem is that knowing if the interview went well is still not a guarantee that you will get the job. I've had some good interviews and didn't get the job, and I've had some bad ones as well. I do agree with body language or the uninterested demeanors. I find that some of the interviewers can be quite unprofessional and there should be videos on how to conduct an interview.

It went over 1 hour (1 hour 15 minutes to be exact), and I noticed they listed, well engaged by following up with little questions, also they gave me some new ideas. It felt like a conversation of 3 people getting to know each other. I really hope i got the job. They were very professional and not pushy or stuffy. After investing several weeks of my life, the job offer was forthcoming after my 2nd interview, when unbeknownst to me, the job description changed. How do I know this? Well after doing the recommended follow-up phone calls, email, the billing manager had given me her cell #. So I texted her one morning last week, and that's when she told me they filled the position and the job became more focused in another area someone else had more experience with. And then the phony apologies, I thought HR called you and I should've called you. Sorry, we'll keep you on file. I can't begin to tell you how crushed I was.

Love these four signs you called out. Yes, time length is a great sign. However, this is dependent on criteria... one being if it's, say, a large corporation. They don't tend to go over the time limit on an interview. They're too busy and likely have to head directly into another meeting. But, yes, as what you said, the interview will go 75% to 100% of the interview meeting time if they are extremely interested in you. Small companies and nonprofits do tend to go over interview time if they consider you a strong candidate.

Hi Ms. Linda. Hope you could help me with this. After my online job interview that lasted for 1hour, the HR message me in my social media that they forgot to ask me 2 things, my asking price and if when can I start. Do you think it is a good sign that I pass the interview? Considering that base on your signs, I got 2 out of 4 (because its online, I dont see their gestures so Im not sure about the 3rd sign :)) Thank you

I noticed that the Operations Manager was 5-7 minutes behind due to tech issues and the second interviewer didn't have a copy of my resume. I had a 45-minute interview, which is the average duration they usually go for. I prepared thoroughly for the technical questions but neglected to focus on the behavioral ones, which turned out to be a significant mistake. As a result, they had to coax the answers out of me, and despite sensing their interest in hiring me, I didn't present myself well in that interview. Didn’t land the job.
In a setting that favors extroverts, it can be challenging for introverts to effectively demonstrate their skills and abilities. Without adequate preparation, it becomes difficult for introverts to come up with quick answers on the spot.
