    How to know if the interview went well (8 signs to look for)
    Interview processes are exciting and stressful at the same time. The world would be an amazing place if there would be instant feedback and a hiring decision after every interview. But unfortunately, we do need to wait for the interviewer's decisions. A gut feeling can be misleading as there are so many emotions in play at the same time (outside of went ok and I completely failed it). Here are 8 signs that can indicate that you did well in the interview.

    At this point, it's like going threw the motions. I've done so many interviews that it's almost as repetitive as my current job. Knowing it will be a fail will make the next fail easy to handle. It's helped me realize that getting interviews don't really mean anything. They don't signify if they are TRUELY interested in hiring you. It's basically just a system for them to scan as many applicants as they can they find a perfect fit. It's literally just chance.

    This place I interviewed for said they had been doing interviews all day so I already know there's multiple candidates, and only one of us is getting hired. So nerve wracking.

      Just be well prepared and do your best. There are always several candidates for a position, do not worry about that. We just have to aim that we convince then that we are the right candidate for them.

      These things happen all the time, do not worry. This just means that the company was not worth it and now they don't even know what they missed. Next target and full speed forward 👍

    I had a virtual interview today we did have a natural flow conversation lots of smiling and open arm conversation, eye contact, he read off a series of questions, I am the one in the beginning that asked if he could tell me more about the role in detail and he explained it in detail, then at the end I asked could you tell me what the hiring process involves and he went into detail that he stills has a few more candidates then the potential candidate will meet with 2 other people from the Company and it says with his 2 weeks of vacation this month that hopefully everything will be by Jan.
    What is your feedback on this?

    I had an online lecture demonstration with one of the universities (2nd step). My demo was scheduled for 30 mins but it took almost 40 mins. After completing the whole demo at end subject expert didn't ask any technical question instead he asked about my in progress PhD and wished me best of luck for final thesis defence. From the HR person I asked about the expected reply and she told me to wait 1-2 week. So no serious question from expert. In online demo I can't see facial expressions.
    I am still confused if it's a good or bad sign??

    what are the good signs while complete interview process happening in remote and virtually especially times like Pandemic

    • @LassiAlbin
      @LassiAlbin  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Many of the signs mentioned in this video are also fully valid for virtual interview situations.
      - Interview knows your profile well
      - Questions get deeper in nature vs. generic just to kill time
      - Active promotion of the position from their side
      - Interview goes extra time
      - Next steps are clearly explained
      - They ask about other processes that you are involved in
      - Body language is harder to spot but the tone of their voice and facial gestures are there for you to pick up.
      - Remember that, in most cases, the harder the interviewer pushes you, the more it indicates that they have found a potential match and want to test you more and with more horsepower.

    I completed 3 rounds of interview with a company. The second panel interview was scheduled for 45 minutes but went on for one and a half hours. The third panel interview, we spent nearly half of it just asking personal questions and one of the panelist did not ask a single question but according to her, she enjoyed listening to my point of view. It was like a podcast to her.
    After not hearing from the hiring manager for a week and a half, I reached out to him for an update. His response was that he is very interested about me but they are still wrapping up some interviews which will take another week. The last question he asked was if I had any offers. Are these good signs? Thanks

    • @LassiAlbin
      @LassiAlbin  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Mesbahul. Although nothing is for sure in this world 😊, I would definitely see those as positive indications. Spending a good amount of time in the panel interview, returning with positive feedback and asking for other offers are good. There is really no reason from an interviewer's side to behave in this way unless they are truly interested in your profile. That said, there will always be a competent talent pool to choose from and 1.5 week is still quite a short time to make a final call. So know that you have done your best and conveyed the top version of of you and that now it is up to them to decide. Regardless of the outcome, you have delivered. Finally, in panel discussions, some members can act as "observers" not necessarily asking questions but observing your non-verbal etc.

      It means absolutely nothing. After doing a bunch of interviews, from what I can tell is you're a last resort and they want to hold on to you as an option just in case.

    Recently I had a interview with hiring manager and what ever tip you have mentioned all happened to me. But manager said IF I LIKE YOU then with in a week you might have next round of interview so hope for the best. So I am literally confused in this answer. Can you help me with this question?

    • @LassiAlbin
      @LassiAlbin  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good thing is that you spotted the signs during the interview. What comes to the Manager's somewhat confusing response, there seems to be some self-confidence challenges on the other side. Normally there would not be the need to phrase responses in this way. Even if you get the offer at the end, make sure that this is a manager you want to work with and that you will learn from. This type of behavior is not normally one-off situational behavior. This is my opinion for this.

    • @LassiAlbin
      @LassiAlbin  ปีที่แล้ว

      Very true, your own preparation and interview performance is one part of the success. Sometimes it solely defines the end result, other times there are factors like internal references and HR preferences that influence the result. Regardless, what we can do is to give the interview the best effort that we can, then it is out of our hands.
