Okay I have a serious question here --- Do any of the checkpoint organizers not know what a clipboard is ? I have been watching all of these Alleycat races and every time the rider gets to a checkpoint the chekcpoint person is always disorganized , surprized to see them , and is always fumbling and failing to write things down on their fleshy knee in ballpoint pen. You can see the frustration in the eyes of the racer as he has to lose precious seconds (or even minutes) because the checkpoint person seems to have smoked too much weed. If they are running races with dozens of racers on $6K bicycles --- perhaps an extra investment of $1.28 clipboard from the dollar store would save a lot of frustration.
Camera doesn't seem to be good in low light conditions > leads to under exposed video. There are more sensitive cameras for dealing with low light situations such as the Sony Alpha 7 Mk iv or the Canon EOS R6 Mk ii.
Is it mandatory for bikes to be fixed ? I ridden one for 2 years around queens and never found the confidence to let loose. Back to rode bikes for me 🖤

nyc police don't care that much about recless biking. in most european countries police would chase you down and fine you 50 to 250€ as soon as you do a redlight or they catch you without breaks and reflectors
Sounds like Australia to some extent But as someone else said, they have to catch you. Sure you can’t ‘outpace them’ but you can certainly lose them in the traffic, ducking down alleys, etc etc Just don’t get caught
The instructions should be clear and legible on the paper. What's this bullsh*t black ink blotches scrawled all over the page. That poor girl was stressed out on where she needed to go and crashed as a result of this. Organizers better get it together and re-think how they convey the instructions on paper.
