Nice video folks, very helpful and informative. I did however struggle to find the Speedfit fittings at your store in Cape Town and the process became painful. Please ensure that store carry appropriate levels of products you promote.
Hi Paul, we are sorry you had difficulties finding the product. Thank you for your feedback and we'll make sure we notify the right department about this. NM
You should have designed the piping such that there is a passive flow through the tank, like a hot water heater or expansion tank, when the municipal supply is online. This ensures that you always have fresh water in the thank - as it is now, you would have to remember to flush the tank periodically for it to remain potable It looks like a tropical climate in this video, but another thing to consider for other people - piping the tank in series with the municipal supply can actually save energy as well if the tank is placed in a climate controlled environment such as a basement. Water sitting in the tank would warm up a bit in winter months before use, and the hot water heater will not have to work as hard
@@conradpaul6100 Could really make my own video to do it justice 😅essentially pipe tank and pump in series with main water line entering house instead of in parallel. All home water flows thru tank regardless of city water status. You would need a check valve on city incoming before the tank, and might need a bypass in parallel with the pump (depending on type of pump used), so that the pump does not have to run when city is online.
Hi just a question what activities the pump when you open the tap. Is there a flow switch in the pump. Looking at getting this system to use on my gas geyser.
The tank and pump should be raised from the floor, what about complete automation when municipal water stops and starts again also considering water pressure...
I hooked up this setup, however municipal water pressure is too low to get water up to the tank (it’s in the roof). I added another small pump to pull water up and fill my tank. Now I have a new issue, the tank fills 99% and the float starts to slowly close the valve. Pump kicks off but valve is slightly open. Pressure drops, pumps turns on, then off, and so on for about 2 hours. How can I fix this?
Have visited both Builders Express and Builders stores in Pietermaritzburg, none of the staff have heard of the Tallas water pump with variable speed. Are these pumps still available and where can one purchase them from?
Thanks for the video! Can you please explain the electrical supply you used for the pump? For example did you use a separate breaker for running electricity to the pump? Do you have any recommendations? Once again thank you for the great video and any feedback you can give.
Hi Austin, Andrew connected the pump to an existing plug point. The don't draw too much power, so a separate breaker is not needed. Check out the range of Tallas pumps that Builders has to offer here: goo.gl/7oRYsy. They really are fantastic pumps :) NM
Hi. I have read elsewhere that speedfit (and pex generally) is not uv safe and cannot be used outdoors. If used outdoors it will perish within a few months. Can you please clarify this.
Do I need pressure tank? Im already buying a 600L tank + watwr pump but they're insisting that I should buy it. We don't have second floors and the source of water is less than 9 meters. Please help. We need tank coz the water is only available at night.
Hi Sal, there is only one supply connection to the house where the pump is. The other connection at the main is an outlet supply to top up the backup tank. I hope this helps. :) NM
Would you guys install all of this at my house or at least help me identify all the required items as well as give me directions to connect properly? Will builders in fourways, Joburg be able to help?
Hi Sal, normal household pressure runs between 2-6 bar. To maintain the same pressure, 10m = approximately 1 bar, 20m approx 2 bar, thus your tank would need to be quite high to reach the higher pressures. However, if the tank is above the level of the house then the water will flow at a lower pressure. That's where the booster pump comes in to increase the pressure of its needed. Many older homes still run on a gravity fed geyser situated in the roof which also works fine. It's all about the pressure you require at the end of the day. Hopefully this helps :) NM
hello,is there a way of ensuring that the pump ONLY runs when there is a NO water coming from municipality? coz mine runs as soon as i turn the taps even when the municipal water is there
Nice video but perhaps post a list of items you need for this installation that links to your online store.

Great stuff - now how do I do the electrical connection?
Is it safe to leave the pump out at the elements of the weather ?
Very useful and easy assembly fitting. Where can I purchase the speedfit accessories.

Nice idea about using passive flow through the tank. How would you do the piping in your scenario?

@@IncognitoVideosInc Have you made a video on this as I would like to setup my system like this.
Hi great video. I have a question. Does the pump work all the time or only when the city water pressure fails or is low ?
Can I possibly get a parts list for the connectors and valves?
Very informative but how do I know which pressure pump to buy?

You should put a shopping list in the description with all the items. What size pipe and fittings do I buy?
💯
Hi There, What size PVC pipes do you use from the tank to the pump?

Hello 👋 is there details for a builders warehouse plumber in Pietermaritzburg that does the water pleasure ?
I like this how much for the pump?

for what diameter pipe is the speedfit fittings
So if you have no main supply the pump will recirculate do to the water tank ball valve staying open. Right ?
U have a link for the pump
Hi ,has anyone here connected the system and then have the Geyser pressure valve leak whenever the pump goes on ?
Hi there sir what is the cost of this system you installed please let me know
What type and size pipes did you use? Our water contains a lot of chlorine. What is the best pipes to use underground?
Thanks for the video!

Is it not necessary to put it on a separate breaker because it’s outdoor? Or on its own earth leakage

Can you please clarify this.
Speedfit & John Guest fittings are UV resistant and are compliant with SANS 10252/54

u need a tank with a ball valve like ur toilet cistern
A bit confused...is the musical water first going into the tank, then via the pump into the house or what...
Does builder's sell this as a kit? I dont see it on your website.
Connecting pumping machine with to poly tank one down one up
Why is there 2 inlet to the house inlet pipes?
One from the pump and the other from the T connection from the main line.

Hi Trish, we would be happy to assist you. You can call your nearest Builders with your request and we'll take it from there. NM
Do i need a pump if I have my tank at a higher level than the house? Will gravity force be sufficient to constantly supply the water to the house?

Yep, there definitely is a way. But I would first need to know what is your system comprised of? And a rough schematic if you may
That is actual a very good question. I would like to know also how to stop that with the same system shown here.

could I ask the name and specification of the pump that Andrew uses in this video. I see its a tallas, but which one?
Hi Mike, Andrew used the Tallas D-EConcept 1000 Vsd Pump
