    I had second thoughts about commenting and knocking the counter up to 70 but wanted to say as someone who it finding his feet on Signalhouse, Creek & Saville’s, it’s awesome to watch them ridden so slick. Also to see some of my lines climbing Creek Track are evidently not the right lines! Thanks for the video.

      Hi mate. Comment away. And thanks for the kind words. It’s been a while since I’ve been able to get down to the RNP for a ride as it’s outside of my 5km radius unfortunately but when restrictions ease I look forward to hitting up Savilles creek, snd Signalhouse again! 👍

    Great video, good to see you climbing. Most dudes on here post videos of going downhill, they not even sending. Way more satisfaction climbing up a tricky rock garden. Rode down Savilles Ck DH Link on the weekend and then back up the Savilles Creek rock garden closest to the highway… good times, we rode across to Bobcat’s from the top… Enjoy your videos mate, keep up the good work 👍🏻

    • @FiveMinuteRides
      @FiveMinuteRides  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks bro. I also originally ordered a Spectral but changed my order to Neuron after some further research based on my personal riding preferences. Both great bikes. It just comes down the type of trails you like to ride. For me my local trails are pretty raw with lots of rocks and roots and climbing as you can see from my videos so I decided the Neuron was probably a better choice for me. Absolutely loving it and very happy with the choice. It’s a great bike.

    Fantastic video mate. You've just helped me make my final decision.
    1 question, would you replace the handlebar to a 20 - 30mm rise bar with a slight back sweep of 5 deg or so. I love the look of this bike as is, but the handlebar looks off... what do you rekon?

    • @FiveMinuteRides
      @FiveMinuteRides  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes mate I did exactly that with a Nukeproof carbon bar. 25mm rise. And I shortened the stem to a 50mm. Thanks for watching.

      Don’t do them much but here and there I’ve ridden on the cycle way. It’s not awesome. Wide tires drag and gears aren’t meant for it. But still fine for a cruisy ride

      @FiveMinuteRides  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mine is a large. I’m 183cm tall so I’m on the boarder of M and L. I’m fairly comfortable on it but have ordered a 25mm riser bar and 50mm stem to replace the 60mm stem and I think this small tweak will make a big difference on longer rides.

    • @FiveMinuteRides

      Stock Suspension was fine. But I changed the 130mm fork after 12 months for a 150mm fork. Second year of ownership I didn’t get to ride as much but for some reason the rear shock seized up and I had to replace it. I’ve not heard other people having that issue tho.

    Great video! Do you really feel that the 67.5 degree head angle is steep? I'm currently riding a scott spark 710 with a 68.8 degree head tube angle and i'm leaning towards getting the neuron as i'm no longer racing competitively. Will the neuron be more confidence inspiring on the descents?

    • @FiveMinuteRides
      @FiveMinuteRides  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Can’t say as I’ve not rides a Spark but compared to my previous bike which was a Giant Talon 27.5 (so no comparison at all) it’s way more confidence inspiring on all trails. 😎

      @@FiveMinuteRides dont you ever consider the Stoic ? its a all around biek with a pike fork 140 mm , 2.4 tires and cheaper than neuron and better spec, not Full Suspension , but my experience demonstrate that thats not matter almost the time i ride, my last FS bike ( specialized ) had a more harsh ride than my Canyon Stoic , i use low psi in the rear and its a beast of a bike. dont know if its the modern geometry . i waswith the neuron 6 in the basket also, but changed for the better specs stoic 4 , and less 100 euros . I ride Trails , some XC , some rought terrain, step climbs , and i like stoic better than my specialized FS . wayyyyy better

    • @FiveMinuteRides
      @FiveMinuteRides  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ricardo Sousa no I was only interested in a full suspension bike. I looked at all the options in my price range and Neuron ticked all the bikes for me. I do believe it’s a personal thing tho. Everyone has different needs and ride style.

  • @MauriceG85
    @MauriceG85 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I'm thinking about buying this bike but I'm not sure. In every review I hear "conservative geometrie". What is the downfall of the old geo compared to the new slack geo? They are making mtb's for a while now so there most be something why they were sticking with the old geo.
    If it's not going to be a neuron I'm thinking about a Izzo but I can't decide :(

    • @rjsvids
      @rjsvids 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      i was looking also for the neuron 6 , but for 100 euros less i bought the Stoic Hardtail with a 140mm pike at front , so i think i made a better choice even its a hardtail those big tires with low pressure it feels like Full suspencion bike , and its a beast , the better stoic (4) have better material than the cheapest neuron 6

    Great Vid! My bike is due for delivery soon to the UK. Can I ask, what seat or covering are you using?

    • @FiveMinuteRides
      @FiveMinuteRides  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The seat the Neuron comes with I found really uncomfortable so I switched it for the Giant Connect Upright seat my Giant Talon had, which I liked better. It’s purely a personal thing. You may be happy with the original seat. My only issue with the Giant one is the red stripe - doesn’t color match with bike so I’ve actually ordered another one with a grey stripe to finish the look of the bike off. Very exciting you’re getting yours soon too. It a really great bike, I’m really happy with it.
