Sour Cream Pound Cake

  • Hi Friends,
    This recipe was shared with me years ago, out of a book that I don’t recall. I hope you give it a try and enjoy it.
    “Big Mama’s Sour Cream Pound Cake”
    3 c. Flour
    2 3/4 c. Sugar
    6 Eggs
    1/4 tsp. Salt
    1/4 tsp. Baking Soda
    1 tsp. Vanilla Flavoring
    1 c. Sour Cream
    2 Sticks of Butter (pure)
    Cream Butter and Sugar until creamy. Add vanilla and eggs, one at a time, then add dry ingredients. Add sour cream and Bake in Oven @350 for 1 hour.
    Frosting
    1/2 box powdered sugar
    2 to 3 lemons
    Mix well and spread glaze on Hot Cake .

    This is a very delicious cake recipe.. Question: do you prefer all purpose or cake flour??? Usually I'm a cake flour girl, but I like this cake better with AP Flour.. your opinion:

      It is thank you… I use whatever I have. I can tell a huge difference when I use cake flour

    Hi!! Can you tell me how is to stiks of butter in grames?? I'm from Portugal and were the butter came in a package of 250grs. I'd like to be able to make this cake. Seems so good. Sorry for my inglish. 😜😜

      For the standard U.S. stick of butter: 1 stick butter = ½ cup = 4 ounces = 113 grams.
