You could test to put in a little more than 450ml (measure the oil level/aircamber from top) if you reduce the air camber hight (more oil) at about 10-20mm you get more progression at the last 1/3 of the travel because of more pressure from the compressed air.....
I can't find re recommended grade 2w/35 what's the best alternative? Found motuls 5W 10W 15W which is best for me. ( mostly on tarmac and some light off road).
I use 10W oil from Castrol. I've used 15W, but it seemed too heavy as the fork took time to return (too much damping for me). If you ride mostly tarmac maybe 15W would be okay. Some use 5W-30 engine oil - it seems to work fine and is cheaper. Maybe give it a go?
My view on this is that it depends on the sort of riding you are doing and the conditions. For example, my friend Skippy is a MX motocross rider. He changes the oil after every race; he changes the fork internal seals every 3 races. If you ride mostly tarmac on smooth roads in non-dusty environments, maybe 18000 km will be fine. Personally, I change my fork oil every 10000km and, for course, each time I have an oil seal problem.
If we had a pillion like all the time( not off roading all the time), is it best to change from 5w to 20w? and when we have to check fork oil and change it, how to monitor it like what are the symptoms that had bad fork oil or less fork oil?
bro from where do you purchase front fork suspension cover. Everytime i ask Himalayan showroon they say it is out of stock. I have been riding with a torn/damaged cover since many months now
I have made a mess of changing my FF oil,, I forgot to pump the leg to get out the old oil and when I refilled the oil level came near the top of the leg,, then when all fitted I had no fork movement,,, so I have to do it all again,,, I also used Motul 20w
That’s totally ok to make mistakes . Glad that you got into this yourself . Maintaining a motorcycle ( especially a dual purpose one ) is extremely important. So the sooner you get into the business yourself the better of you will be in the long run .
2 days ago I visited the service center for seal replacement .. and now it's bottoming out very easily .. I suspect less than required oil . Will have to do it myself .. thanks for making the video at the exact time I needed it 😂. Please tell me where to buy the gaiters. . can't find correct size aftermarket and service center is not taking order for it ..
@@ONTWOWHEELSBEN thanks .. I just confirmed . They've put only 800ml oil ( 4 bottles of 200ml is on the bill ) .. making excuses that not all the oil comes out etc etc. My mistake I guess . Should have been there while they were doing it .
it culd be your front brakes/pads. check them first . clean the pas with a decent brake cleaner. if you are a 100% certain about the forks then its time to service the forks.

Great vedio bro. Which is the stock oil from re?
Replaced it this Saturday. Old one was motul 20W. This time I tried out Yamaha 10W expecting nice results.
Nice work!
What is the price there for 20w motul and yamaha 10w and mention ml please. Thanks in advance
@@rajagenius5732 sorry not remember the price now. You can check it online these oils are not synthetic.

I usually use an old wire clothes hanger to hold my brake caliper. That way you are not putting a strain on the hose or fittings.

no need for heavy fork oil then. change fork oil when fork becomes too SPRINGY .

yes , it is a bit of a work with conventional tools.

At what rate should you replace this?
If you do a lot of trail/off road riding then 8-10k kilometers or 10-12 k kilometers
How much should i put the oil for each fork?
pls watch the video
🔥👍
👌👌
No air bleed is done...
Needn’t be done on conventional forks like these . Just pump it 10-12 times before you install the cap and that’s good
Using diesel is better....petrol gets vapourised quickly and its cheap...
Change your forking oil. 😂🤣
