I bought a 2018 X1. It’s an S Dr. model with the premium package that stickers for 41,800, But the dealership sold it to me for 34,400. At the time I was moving back to the US and I had to buy two cars at the same time for my wife and I, and I kept telling myself if I was only buying one car I would’ve bought an X3. But since then I’ve considered upgrading, gone and test drove X3s, even the m40i, And while certainly there are some more fun engines in those cars, I’m still really happy with the X1 for half the price. It’s quick enough to Be a little bit fun, and it’s really not that small inside. It’s very practical with the seats lay down for hauling stuff.
Nice review. I have the 2020 X1 and this model looks to be the exact same. I wanted a compact SUV but one that looked like a small SUV and not a hatchback or crossover. This fit to bill and it is a lot of fun to drive. It may not quite be the cup of tea for car enthusiasts but it is perfect for me and I am very happy with it! The price point was also very nice. I am prepared for maintenance costs and have factored that in. Overall great vehicle

I have the 2021 X1 MSport (25i) which looks fantastic, drives beautifully and is really roomy considering it’s “small SUV” label. Go the MSport if you can - it looks much better than the x-line model.
I noticed a $45 up-charge listed on the price list for a “BMW First Aid Kit.” What exactly does that include? I can’t think of a time when I’ve ever needed access to a first aid kit in my vehicle or anyone else’s vehicle as a passenger.
My coworker bought a 2020 BMW X1 and when he took us for a ride in it for lunch I could clearly see everywhere BMW cut corners to meet that price. It was like all the “BMW” was diluted to a point I think an equivalent Japanese compact SUV would be a more pleasant place to be.
I agree. My aunt had a ‘17 X1 for 1 year and got rid of it because of its lack of luxury and refinement. She was very sick for many years, and after she was better, she felt she deserved something nice, and bought herself one. She quickly changed her mind after a short while because it was really awfully produced with no soft surfaces anywhere. Traded it in for a Honda Passport Elite and she is much happier.

Sorry but Audi q3 is better. My dad said he had that car and it didn’t change much over the years, so he got me the Audi Q3 S line for my first car since the BMW was kinda a let down when we went to the dealership. Plus I hate it when they put the screen on the top as a afterthought and there is not much technology as the q3 does
wish i bought this instead of the GLB250. GLB is pretty cheap feeling inside once you spend more time with it. Also quite loud with wind and tire noise. BMW is more intuitive also. MBUX infotainment is annoying to use and i always accidentally touch the trackpad by accident, changing things. I just didnt wanna get a 2021 X1 only for them to do a full refresh in 2022.
also, if you get the GLB make sure you get the adaptive suspension. It's so bumpy and I was not expecting it to be that annoying since MB is usually known for luxury and comfort
