Enjoyed the reaction! Fellow guitar nerd here. Yes, in this video, Hazuki plays an Ibanez Prestige RGD. But she managed to land herself an endorsement with Ibanez, so she plays J.Customs now. The other guitarist, Saki (they trade off on lead), has her own signature model "Killer" guitar called "The Empress". The Killer brand was started by Loudness guitarist, Akira Takasaki, and is built and distributed by ESP. My favorite of theirs is "Adabana".
Great reaction. Nemophila has no boundaries. They play metal, hard rock, ballads pop punk, rap... you name it. Oiran live at Naon Yaon is a must . No bad songs!! Adabana is their peak so far. Life is one of the best ballads you will hear. Hypnosis has bone crushing riff Revive is a thrasher Enten and Zen from the new album will simply rip your faces off
I second, or third the Oiran video. The vocalist Mayu is just a great live as in the studio. Actually all of the women are. The woman introducing them in the Oiran live video is Keiko Tarada. She is the vocalist for the band Show-Ya who in turn are considered the grandmothers of the female metal scene. They started in 1981. She is also a producer (I believe) for the Naon Yaon festivals and friends with all of Nemophila. Saki guitarist on the right, Hazuki guitarist on the left and Tamu Murata the drummer have all performed in those festivals, before Nemophila.
When you get time check out the Guitar Girls Collection from Naon Yaon. It showcases a shread fest of about 8 guitarists each year. Hazuki performed in 2018, but I can’t find that one on TH-cam. 2017 and 2019 are easy to find.
There really is no Naon no Yaon festival without Keiko Terada. When she left Show-Ya for a number of years, Naon no Yaon also stopped. When she returned, Naon no Yaon started back up again. Keiko and Saki have known each other for many years. Mary's Blood probably performed at the festival more than any other band and Saki is the guitarist that created the World Guitar Girls Collection.
@@michelm.6033 I think "no" is the Japanese pronunciation and in English means "of". Awhile back I tried to translate "Naon no Yaon" and the best I could figure out is that it means something like "Women of Wild Music" which I guess could be "Women of Rock Music". Maybe someone will see this comment and let me know how close or far off I am.
This is one of the bands to watch, no question. They just started in 2019 and are blowing up fast. As you can see from the gang vocals, they don't take themselves too seriously-Hazuki even winks. They almost seem to be enjoying a private joke, that goes "Hi, we're a bunch of cute, fun girls and we are going to rip your face off, and you are going to like it.” Nemophil-a (not “Nemophil-i-a, you got it right) were founded in 2019. They are a supergroup composed of: ex-Mary's Blood guitarist Saki ex-Lipstick vocalist Mayu ex-Disqualia guitarist Hazuki (also plays with Lisa-X) ex-Hölderlins bassist Haraguchi-san, and ex-Soramimi drummer Murata Tamu Initially, they were just a side project, co-organized by Mayu with some help from Saki, largely to keep busy in the early days of the pandemic. They started by posting metal covers of well-known rock, pop and metal songs. Then they began posting originals, starting with “Oiran” th-cam.com/video/eyb2NtPwcxc/w-d-xo.html The viral reaction seems to have convinced them they were onto something potentially big, so they’ve been putting a lot more work into it, including some successful live-streams and an appearance at the annual Japanese female rock festival NAONのYAON. They tend toward hard and heavy, but also do ballads and some pop covers. Drummer Murata Tamu took time off to give birth to her son, and on her return, the rest of the bandmembers gave her a welcome back that resulted in an extremely moving moment captured on live stream: “Life” th-cam.com/video/HFnEYhbEAqg/w-d-xo.html After Oiran, others to check include "Dissension", which will fry whatever is left of your circuits: th-cam.com/video/26aMuahxz8c/w-d-xo.html and “Raitei”, which means “Thunder” in Japanese, and yes, they bring the thunder: th-cam.com/video/lh-dVLKP314/w-d-xo.html More recent drops that showcase their intensity and versatility: “Adabana” th-cam.com/video/AxYiOwsu6wU/w-d-xo.html “Style” th-cam.com/video/Aph5GON6rPc/w-d-xo.html (written by their bassist, Haraguchi-san) “Seize the Fate” th-cam.com/video/4tpgLyckVYg/w-d-xo.html Saki is the only one who had been with a breakout band before (Mary’s Blood); Hazuki and Murata-tamu are also considered elite musicians and have worked with a lot of other top artists. Hara-san is the youngest but is clearly a great talent and has been developing in front of our eyes. She has already written several songs for the group. And of course Mayu is quickly establishing herself as a great metal vocalist.
Nemophila is pure 🔥🔥🔥. They play a variety of styles and excel at all of them. I recommend Revive or Adabana next. Mayu is amazing and can switch between banshee puma screams and cleans (with or without grit) at will. Try Oiran live at Naon Yano 2021 for a fantastic live performance. m.th-cam.com/video/19VQ9tkWksQ/w-d-xo.html
I agree with everything Jesse said. Note however, that the live performance is taken from a livestream, so the sound quality is not the best, but it's pretty good.
Nemophila is a blue, five-petaled flower found in California. NEMOPHILA are touring the US in March. Go see them if you can. Watch all their videos; each song is different, and they’re all good. To start, go back to the beginning, with the demo version of OIRAN. th-cam.com/video/eyb2NtPwcxc/w-d-xo.html SAKI also plays in MARY’S BLOOD. Check out MARIONETTE. th-cam.com/video/MLM2unV0kwU/w-d-xo.html
There best bands nowadays are coming from Japan. There are amazing bands like Baby Metal, Band Maid, Gacharic Spin, Lovebites and more, but Nemophila are the supreme queens right now, they are beasts in a good way, theu are the best. I just love them so much. You can try with Revive or Oiran (live) next.
Nemophila are perfection. Not a single weak link in the band. Fucking monster musicians and funny af. Seriously, just go and watch ALL of Nemophila's videos NOW. They do the most kickass metal you'll find and everything else too.
Great reaction and welcome to the kick ass world of Nemophila. You are going to love them!! One of the hottest bands out of Japan. They just released their second album in December and its killer just like the first. Mayu has that great Banshee Scream and raspy clean vocals. She is Amazing. Saki and Hazuki on guitar are shredders and amazing musicians. Same goes for Haraguchi-san on bass and Tamu on Drums is one of the best female drummers in Japan. You just hit the tip of the iceberg with this song too. They have many good ones and also done some amazing covers during the pandemic time too. You should listen to Oiran official Live so you can hear her scream live. It is more gritty live and even better. She does not scream in all their songs which is also cool because her cleans are so unique and beautiful. Also I understand the comparison to BM a little being a big fan of them too but this band is far different but do use those cute voices and are a little poppy sometimes but mostly metal and hard rock. Other songs to try besides the Oiran Official live are Revive, Adabana, RAITEI, Seize the fate, Monsters, Hypnosis. I could go on and on. You have come across an amazing band and they are just getting started. They played their first US gig at Whisky A go go last July and Aftershock in October and Will be touring in US again this march. IMO the best top bands out of Japan right now are Love Bites, Band Maid and Nemophila and Japan has many cool bands. Anyway Can't wait to see you guys react to more of them.
Formed in 2019 by lead singer ,Mayu, when she went looking to put together a backing band. She called her former classmate, bassist Hariguchi-san. Saki(ex-Mary's Blood) and Hazuki on guitar, and drummer Tamu Murata. Originally supposed to be a side project, they decided the lineup was too good not to continue. Since they are all female, they wanted to name the band after a flower. They just released their second album, Seize the Fate, in December. The title track is the first single from that. More to try: Raitei, Adabana, Oiran, Style, Revive, Life
How the band pronounces their name ... I also suggest you check out their live performance of the song Oiran at the 2021 Naon no Yaon festival. Another commenter has supplied the link. There is also a video of them at the same show performing Dissension. I think that Mayu sounds better in the live performance because her screams in the mv for Dissension was over-produced. I discovered Nemophila when the video of their cover of Iron Maiden's Aces High showed up in my recommended videos. I have been a huge Iron Maiden fan for about 40 years (I am 62), so I was very curious how they could handle the song. I wasn't really concerned about the instruments because I had already seen some very talented all female Japanese bands - Band-Maid, Lovebites, Gacharic Spin, Mary's Blood just to name a few. Whether for a reaction or not, you should watch that video - th-cam.com/video/IoQAvpiIdNw/w-d-xo.html You should also experience Lovebites, another all female Japanese band with world class talent. They are a metal band of the speed, thrash, power kind. They will be releasing their 4th full length album in February and they have a music video for one of the songs on the upcoming album. Both the song and the album are called Judgment Day. I am confident that you will be blown away - th-cam.com/video/m3uGjp-P7DI/w-d-xo.html
My favorite band...going to see them live for the second time in March. They are, incredibly, even better live: along with the technical excellence they display in the studio, they charisma level live is off the charts.
Excellent review guys! Check out their newest release "Seize the Fate" It is off the hook, and Mayu the singer was pretty far along in her pregnancy and still managed to sing at her best as always. If you want to go old school, try their live in studio covers of Iron Maidens "The Trooper" AND "Aces High" they crush both songs, I am an old fart and grew up with Maiden, so hearing these ladies do flawless covers of songs they love from the 80's is just mind blowing. They are all top-notch musicians and very creative, no singular sound, but whatever they do seems to work, every time!
Nemophila shreds, suggestions made previously, especially Revive all excellent. If you're going down the Japanese Rock/Metal rabbit hole, LoveBites is a can't miss, just dropped a new one 3 weeks ago - Judgement Day, but their catalog is excellent, Holy War, Break the Wall, Set the World on Fire and really not a bad song in their catalog. Cruise on over to Hanabie - We love Sweets and Pardon Me, I Have To Go Now. That Band-Maid rabbit hole is deep as well.
Both 7 Strings. Since you seem like a guitar guy, Hazuki (Thigh high boots) is signed with Ibanez (using a RGDR4327 Prestige here) and Saki (fishnets) is playing her own Signature Killer Guitar (KG-Fascinator Seven the Empress). For live, look at their Naon Yaon 2021 performances on boobtube. They are doing a Japan Tour now and will be doing a US Tour in March (California, Texas, and New York)
Awesome reaction as always!!! Now, you guys gotta complete the journey by discovering LoveBites!!! These three bands, LoveBites, Nemophila and Band Maid are the big 3 of Japanese female bands and they are all incredibly amazing with distinct styles. You can start with Holy War (live Zepp Divercity Tokyo). Rock on 🤘 and peace ✌️ bro!!!
Its time to look for J-ROCK/METAL, another TOP all Japanese female Rock/Metal Bands other than BANDMAID/NEMOPHILA LOVEBITES - new song Judgement Day, live songs Set The World On Fire, Raise Some Hell, The Hammer Of Wrath, Break The Wall, Holy War.. HANABIE - new song Pardon Me, We Love Sweets, NEET GAME.. TRIDENT-JAPAN - songs Voltage, No Regret.. ASTERISM(female guitarist) songs Dawn, Rising Moon, Blaze, Church.. UNLUCKY MORPHEUS, MAXIMUM THE HORMON, MARY'S BLOOD, SCANDAL, BRIDEAR, GACHARIC SPIN...
Two heavy songs live from Naon no Yaon Festival: Dissension, you already know studio version, here live th-cam.com/video/6zH045LdjBo/w-d-xo.html Oiran - heavy knock out live version th-cam.com/video/19VQ9tkWksQ/w-d-xo.html Seize the Fate from last album th-cam.com/video/4tpgLyckVYg/w-d-xo.html Not every song is that heavy! Thay also have beautiful songs like my favourite Game Over th-cam.com/video/PQvj_JUFSvI/w-d-xo.html
Firstly.. Welcome! This is a truly awesome band. Unusually, they do LOTS of covers and they are all epic. My choice would be Shime, a Maximum the Hormone cover.. Just so good. Monsters Revive And many many more! Enjoy! 🤟🏻🤟🏻
For lovers of Metal and who play guitars Nemophila are just sent From Heaven 2 full albums out now and they only started in 2019 .Dig in Boys your in for a surprise.
One thing to mention: you've said the leading guitarist has the same guitar as you do (Ibanez prestige). Well, there are two guitarists. And both of them are leading guitarists))) It is as it is 💁 The one you're talking about is Hazuki. She always plays Ibanez (as far as I know she even has a contract with the brand). The other one is Saki. She always plays Killer.
Las mejores sucesoras de SHOW-YA, 1banda femenina de heavy metal japonés y madrinas entre otras de Nemophila, Mary's Blood, Gacharic Spin, Scandal, etc (Fairy, Look at Me, Genkai Lovers, One Way Heart, Gambling, Kurenai, Battle Express, Shooting Star, JAM, Emotion, etc)
This band started as a "project" band of all things. All of them are very very well known musicians in the Japanese music industry. Mayu (v) started the band with Saki (g on right) as a project. Saki is the most famous of the group - at the time of formation, Saki was still a member of Mary's Blood. Saki is the queen of shred. I kid you not. Hazuki (g on left) is the "librarian" of them LOL. She has another project band "Li-sa-X Band" with Li-sa-X. With them, she literally looks like a librarian. She can shred and is a fabulous musician. Haraguchi-san (bass) is another fabulous musician. Then you have Tamu Murata (drums). She started out as a Jazz fusion drummer. She used to be with a few bands but was a very sought out session drummer. Her personal channel has MORE subs than Nemophila and has over 45 million combined views. She can play any genre. Yeah, she is special. Nemophila is a fantastic band. Only thing is, Mayu's vocal is not my cup of tea so I don't really listen to them a lot. You might want to check out Unlucky Morpheus. They are out of the world.
Go back to the start and do RAITEI. This song is what made me a fan. It was out just before DISSENSION. These girls have released their first two December releas albums the last two years and their isn't a bad song on either. They also did some cool covers for themselves and their fans during COVID lockdowns when they started. Try [Maximum the Hormone] "SHIMI" for some cool Mayu vocals. th-cam.com/video/R6Vw-QJp6YY/w-d-xo.html
Next REACT VOB_ KILLING IN THE NAME _(RATM COVER) VOB BAND ROCK 3 HIJABERS from 🇮🇩 VOB LIVE at WACKEN FESTIVAL.(GERMANY)2022 👍 AMAZING SUPER TALENTED 🤟🤟🤟
Next REACT VOB _ENTER SANDMAN ( METALLICA COVER) VOB BAND ROCK 3 HIJABERS from 🇮🇩 VOB LIVE at (FRANCE) TRANS MUSICALES DE RENNES 👍 AMAZING SUPER TALENTED 🤟🤟🤟
And of course the BIGGEST difference between Nemophila and Baby Metal is that Nemophila is an actual band formed by actual musicians playing actual instruments and writing much of their own songs, with assistance from a professional songwriter/arranger only if/when desired. Baby Metal is a manufactured presentation with replaceable session musicians and professionally composed songs created by a committee. I personally won't listen to Baby Metal.... because what they didn't a band thing, it's a musical theater thing, just in a somewhat metal type of genre.
I came across nemophila first time due their cover of Mucc Ranchuu (蘭鋳). Then I noticed their other covers (very well done all of them) and after that started listening their original songs. Really good band! Other older Japanese bands I would recommend is Mucc, Dir en Grey and Nocturnal Bloodlust. Especially live versions are very good.
HAGANE Do you remember ``JUNA,'' which completely copied the drums of Judas Priest's Painkiller? I'm a member of the JapaneasGirlsHeavyMetalBand called HAGANE and I'm playing there! That's so aggressive ♫ It's the latest MV, so search for it and watch it 👍 Tsuyoshi.Yokoi✌️🤓

Welcome to the Nemophila rabbit hole! Enjoy the ride … so much to discover 🤘 Mayu sounds like this live. Try a new song from them: Seize The Fate
+1 for Lovebites
Her vocals are wicked live too. Check out the live version of Dissension or Revive. You should also watch
Judgement Day by Lovebites.
+1 for "Judgment Day" by Lovebites
2 for Lovebites. If you liked Nemophila, you'll love Lovebites ! th-cam.com/video/m3uGjp-P7DI/w-d-xo.html
You guys should Listen to Adabana next.. It's ..just... sooooo... Epic.
Lovebites would be next. Start with (live) "Holy War" and/or "Set the World on Fire". The Wolfpack will then enlighten you.
I suggest Hanabie "We love sweets". I'm not sure if you guys already seen the name in the comments but they are amazing.
👍 just saw Nemo on the 8th and the Maids on the 9th. Best two days of ‘23. 🤘
Hi, if you like Band Maid & Nemophila you definitely need to check Lovebites ^^
Ya. Oiran live is the one.
LOVEBITES is another great band from Japan, favourite of mine. They got new video "Judgement Day", top notch stuff |m/
Awesome reaction as always!!! Now, you guys gotta complete the journey by discovering LoveBites!!! Firstly.. Welcome! This is a truly awesome band. Unusually, they do LOTS of covers and they are all epic. My choice would be Shime, a Maximum the Hormone cover.. Just so good.
Monsters
Revive

I recommend the reaction, Nemophila in great shape.
Nemophila is the best check out adabana 🤯 also the band Hanabie is great too you should check them out their new song they just dropped is 🔥
There is a live version of this song
One thing to mention: you've said the leading guitarist has the same guitar as you do (Ibanez prestige).
Well, there are two guitarists.
And both of them are leading guitarists)))
It is as it is 💁
The one you're talking about is Hazuki. She always plays Ibanez (as far as I know she even has a contract with the brand).
The other one is Saki. She always plays Killer.
Touring the States in March.
🤘🏽LOVEBITES RULES🤘🏽
Check their live at After Shock!
try out "Revive"... or "Adabana"... or blow your mind with "Seize the Fate."
Guys, watch the opening Rage of Bahamut: Genesis. Your will enjoy.
Next, Adabana. Period. You need it.
🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
They did a Babymetal cover of Megitsune. Saki the guitarist in right is a big fan of Babymetal..

HAGANE
Do you remember ``JUNA,'' which completely copied the drums of Judas Priest's Painkiller?
I'm a member of the JapaneasGirlsHeavyMetalBand called HAGANE and I'm playing there!
That's so aggressive ♫
It's the latest MV, so search for it and watch it 👍
