I still listen to X Japan all the time. I wish more people over here would discover what there is to offer. I'd love a chance to see so many bands. These ladies. Gacharic Spin. Maximum the hormone. So many amazing groups. Tons of generic studio created groups too,. But if that's the price of the absolute amazing talent we see here, so be it
Nemophila is a band formed in 2019, but actually each of their members is from a different band, so nemophila is like a super band type, and they are a very unique band, each song has different elements, Both guitars are 7 string, and of course 5 string bass,Two guitarists: Saki and hazuki are very famous guitarists in Japan, drummer tamu is one of the best drummers in Japan, she not only plays rock and metal, she is also a very good jazz drummer. next one Please react to 《oiran》or《raitei》🔥🔥🤘🏻🌸
They made themselves known by uploading covers to their TH-cam Besides writing their original stuff. Each of them are brilliant and fun to watch. They covered songs from bands like: Helloween, KISS, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Motley Crue, BabyMetal, Linkin Park , etc even the Banana song/Minion song from the animated movie Despicable Me :D Do not dare to binge watch them! We need reactions! :D
Nemophila ROCKS!! Check out their songs Raitei (original) and their cover songs of Iron Maidens songs The Trooper and Aces High, they did both of the cover songs in a small studio, they did Iron Maiden proud. As other commenters have said, check out the band Hanabie, the song We Love Sweets, holy shit will leave your mouth on that one for sure!! Keep it up guys, loving all the female Japanese rock bands, best in the world at the moment as far as I am concerned. Whats not to like, excellent musicians, originality, pretty women, and they are always having fun instead of trying to look rock star cool.
Re your query, the bass looks like a Sadowsky MetroLine 21-5 Vin Mo Candy. The guitarist on screen right always uses Killer guitars. Nemophila are great. They have only been play together for just over eighteen months and play many different styles. The drummer and guitarist on screen rught are like rock royalty in Japan.. Tamu the drummer has played in other bands and is a much sought after session drummer and has her own YT channel. The guitarist on screen right is SAKI who also plays in band called Mary's Blood (which you should also check out) and is known as the queen of shredders. Quitarist on screen left playing the Ibanez 7 string is fast becoming one of Japan top guitaists and Haraguchi-san the bassist is everybody's favourite because she is always laughing and making funny faces. You could also check out another Japanese band called Serenity in Murder if you like screaming vocals.
Heavily produced?? Well yeah it's a professional music video LOL. But if you are meaning the instruments or lead singer Mayu's tone and screams.. if you see them live it's not far off from this. They are the real deal. Production may be their only weakest point. They are independent and not signed to anybody. Japanese groups Like Love bites, Babymetal, and band-maid have high-end professional production teams. But it it is kind of a good thing too, because they can do what they want. For being together just over a year-and-a-half oh, they have put out a lot of material. Whether it's covers or Originals, they are all good. Check out their recent online concert. They open up with this song and you can see there's not a lot of overproduction. th-cam.com/video/wgwyGvyWtCA/w-d-xo.html
He didn't mean it as a criticism! The production is extremely tight and focused so the dynamics are razor sharp, and everything's super clear and up front. It's not a sound you can really achieve live, it takes careful crafting in the studio to carve out that hyper-pristine mix. It's a stylistic choice and it sounds frickin awesome! It's like Mayu's screams - that kinda high whistling distortion they've added fits the aesthetic so well - they didn't have to do that, they could have left it more raw and "natural", but it just compliments the sound they went for and makes it extra *chef kiss* , y'know? I think he brought it up more as a contrast to other Japanese metal bands, and how this has more of that modern sound he's used to in western metal, not as a dig or anything
I think he means Very Well Mixed. No doubt this band sounds 100% live and they are quite an energetic and Fun band. They are so well versed in Multiple genres it would blow ones mind.
As you were asking about the bass: That is a Sadowsky bass that Haraguchi-san (aka Happiest Bassist in the World) received just shortly before this video shoot, it's their first video you can see it in. Before she was using a Bacchus. The other guitarist plays a Killer btw.
I'm late as usual, but I want to add that "Dissension" is BY FAR Nemophila's most aggressive song to date. I think you would love "Life". It's their least aggressive song to date, but it's incredible, and you really see the contrast in what this band is capable of. Also, "Life" is pretty special because Tamu (drums) was away for a while to have a baby, and So Nemophila carried on with guest drummers, which was amazing in it's own right because they did covers of legendary Japanese bands with those legendary bands' drummers filling in for Tamu. But when Tamu came back, they were so happy and I won't drag it out too much, but the short version is that they all turned toward her and Mayu sang the song directly to her, and it's just an incredible powerful video and it made me fall in love with the band. Actually that part's not true because I was already in love with the band. I am trying to make it a habit to supply the link when I recommend a song, so here is the link to Nemophila - Life th-cam.com/video/HFnEYhbEAqg/w-d-xo.html
Satomiwa! Right ON! These 5 ladies aren't merely the pinnacle of music perfection, they're really wonderful people, with compassion for each other and everyone else! You can see that in the "Life" music video. Thank you for posting it here! Russ
Nemophila is amazing, they really are, Between them and Lovebites I'm in fucking metal heaven. I love seeing these bands pop up that are highly technical, and know how to write outstanding music. It's one thing to throw a song together, but the best bands spend so much time on the composition and arrangement of their songs which just makes the music flow so much better. While I do love other Japanese metal bands, I can only handle them in smaller doses, whereas with Nemophila and Lovebites I can listen to them all day without getting bored of them. I can't wait for Nemophila to get a larger catalog. Definitely recommend checking out Oiran, which is my favorite, so much fire in it. If you ever get back to lovebites, check out Break the Wall (Far and away one of their heaviest, think Slayer)
No "ish" about how heavy they can be, Harry. 🤣 They're including an all-English version on the extended version of their album, released in the next few days. Hazuki and Saki are my second-favourite Japanese guitar duo, close behind you-know-who. 🤘😉🐺
Thaaaaaaaank yoooouuuuuu. A great reaction to a band/song I really admire. I love Band-maid and Nemophila completes my music life. A great band with great songs and some highly talented and not to forget beautiful Ladies. One of my dreams is, that this two bands commpose, write and perform a song together. I'm sure they all would have fun. Will not come true, but you have to have dreams.
One of the girls actually lived and studied in the states for a while. I think it was Saki. Guitarist on far right. That would have a influence on their music.
Honestly, though...my two favorite rhythm sections, from ANY country! I'd be remiss if I failed to include Haru and Natsumi from Bridear as well (and another shout-out to Misa and Akane from the 'Maid) 🤘🥰🤘
Let me add yet another terrific metal rhythm section from the Japanese female metal scene: Ark Royal's Marsa (bass) and Meg-chan (drums). Thunder from the North (they're based in Sapporo...)!
yes it is a really great production, but they also bring the horsepower "live" to the stage, as is usual with Japanese bands, they are all very well trained top musicians. It was just a side project, but it turned out to be too outstanding. They have clearly positioned themselves internationally, a real super band with a great musical range, with Mayu as the singer they hit the bull's eye. Haraguchi-san (bass) now plays a Sadowsky MetroLine Bass 😋🤤, before she played Japanese Bacchus basses (also great instruments) Great Reaction !!!
Been waiting for this and you guys did not disappoint. Great reaction. This is their most extreme song but the rest of the arsenal is equally as good. They can rip you to shreds or put a tear in your eye. Been in this Japanese rabbit hole for over a year now. I have tied weights to my feet so I cannot climb out
As others have said : check OIRAN next. It's pretty much a one-take live recording in their rehearsal studio, so not much (if any) editing :) Also, Tamu, the drummer, was 7 month pregnant when they recorded that ;)
@@radioraffa oh .. then the info I had was wrong. Well ... still 4th month;) Anyway, considering they seem to be playing over the amps (hard to say as their ears are mostly covered all the time) that kid had an extremely early introduction to good music ;)
To kind of introduce themselves they were doing a bunch of different cover songs (It was so cute for the one KISS song they did the whole face painting) and it was like mind-blowing and now this song and a couple of the others that are their own mind-blowing.
They have other songs and live concerts and they also do some great covers of Iron Maiden and lots of other bands and they are making quite a reputation for themselves just for that and part of the reason for this is the fact that all these girls are from other bands. The girl right of screen is from Mary's Blood and that's another great band. She also hosts an annual guitar festival for women and she is a bit of a celebrity so people discovered NEMOPHILA almost immediately. Fun fact they do a version of the banana song.
I wish I could fly you guys to the States for their tour this month. Saw them last July and they blew the roof off the Whisky a Go Go! Oops I kinda said that already...☺️
Listened to two songs and fell in love. My personal favorite is "Raitei" th-cam.com/video/lh-dVLKP314/w-d-xo.html beside "Life" maybe. But you can't really compare the two songs. Album is on the way
03:05 ...and they are just warming up.... 😂😂😂 Long live Nemophila! 😂 🤘 🐺 Lovebites, Nemophila, Chaos Control: What do they put in the water in Japan? 😂 5:34 Well, who does _not_ ? 😂
Tamu is absolutely on spot with her drumming, Hatzuki and Saki burn with their guitars, Haraguchi-san hold a bass beat like a goddess, and Mayu`s vocals are some of the best in the world.
Love watching people react to this tune. IMO their best video yet, Mayu has a great voice. Nemophila is really a super group. All the girls are like the best of the best all from different well established Japanese female groups.
He he. I never said OVERproduced. I just meant that they use very modern recording techniques and equipment and utilise the functionality of said equipment and techniques to perfection...😁
Hechar un vistazo a Fairy y Kurenai ambas canciones con Nemophila (Kurenai sólo Saki y Hazuki, guitarristas) Gambling, Shooting Star, JAM, Emotion, Look at Me, Genkai Lovers, One Way Heart, Battle Express, etc
I'm so glad y'all have our sound turned up some of these guys doing reviews you can't even hear it I don't know what the problem is but y'all are fantastic to watch and listen to and you're checking out all the groups that I like check Ningen ISU heartless scat be sure and put the lyrics on because it's in Japanese that's a killer group three guys
I've been meaning to check this band out next on my own Japanese band discovery, so glad to get some company. Not a bit disappointing, enjoyed the clean vocals more then the high screams personally but the music was heavy af. I also love Japan! Cheers from Canada!
That bass is a Sadawsky Custom 5 string. They've got a few other great tracks as well, Sorai being my favourite. The guitarist Saki's (red hair, painted Marshal cab) main band Mary's Blood is also well worht checking out, Marionette being a good place to start.
Nice, been waiting for this in months, finally it's Nemophila spotlight! If you react to Nemophila, you should also react to Hanabie - We love sweets 🧁🌸🤘🎌
I love you 2guys ! I am sending this comment from Japan. Now it's a bit difficult time in your country too. But you 2 guys always say that good metal musicians are good. I hope you 2 will come to Japan and en
Ok so you need to go down their rabbit hole. They have some awesome raw covers in the studio just having fun. Linkin Park, Kiss, Babymetal, Nickleback, ACDC, IRON MAIDEN and many others. Also their other originals, Raitei, Orian, Life, Monsters. Awesome reaction!!🤘🤘 I knew you'd like them too....
I love you guys 😊 Dissension is so heavy for a female band and I loved it 😍 Raitei is amazing as well!! Wait for it…. Wait for it…. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also sang by Nemophila!!
They have like 6 or 7 originals that are metal well, life is a ballad sung to the drummer who had a baby and they are a bit emotional, and they have lots of covers from pop to rock to metal and they just will leave you wanting more and more! Originals next.. Oiran or Raitei or Life. Covers... newest is Motley Crue Shoot at the Devil but fun them just having fun and a totally different side of Mayu's voice is Make You Happy, which I listen to just about every day to put a smile on my face! Thank you for reacting to my favorite band!! was Band-Maid but these ladies stole my heart!
@@mr4lergia That's a pretty limiting comparison, actually. Lovebites are pretty diverse and mostly take from older European metal bands. But they have actually toured with DragonForce.
@@cepho8349 What I mean is that, like Band Maid, the members seem to be very nice, extremely talented, beautiful and lovable people who genuinely enjoy playing. They also seem to really like and care for each other. As does Band Maid.
Dude....these girls have taken over!!!! What else would you expect from Saki?? Go watch the live version....obviously not as precise in the vocals....but still awesome. Big into fashion too and all beautiful. They own Japanese metal along with Lovebites, Band Maid, and SO many others now! So pleased I got their autographs before they hit the big time. So many top level Japanese guitarists.....Tomo-Zo, Narumi Suzuki, Hanabe, Syu, Saki, Hizaki, Teru, Hazuki......on and on....phenomenal.
I’m so happy that you guys loved Nemophila!! I love as well! Next up Nemophila: Raitei and I Japan ( English version). They cover a lot of different artists as well. Hanabie is another all female Japanese group you might like as well!! Love you guys so much!!! Keep it up!!!!!!
You can see she can really scream without any effects in their studio live videos, I recommend OIRAN and the cover of Motley Crue's SHOUT AT THE DEVIL.
OK! OK! OK! Hold on! ! ! ! ! What the bloody hell is this old man listening too? Do you really want to hear my comments on this... Well you are going to get it... First time listening to them... All I can say is, this was AWESOME!!! Well done girls I Loved it. You have a new fan here. Rock On & Rock Hard... Listening from Southern California USA
great reaction. been waiting for you guys to get to these ladies.. check out their songs RAITEI, OIRON plus they do covers from Iron Maiden, KISS, MOTLEY CRUE.. they are always smiling and killing it musically.
How can she not damage her vocal chords screaming like that, ha. I like her voice when she is singing, not so much on the screaming, ha. The band totally rocks out, nice sound, clean, different.
Please react to the brand new song Revive by Nemophila, published a couple of days ago. By the way: You two belong to my fav. reactors - always so positive and likeable. Baie dankie van Duitsland.
Having so much fun watching the reactors hearing Mayu for the first time!! Did you count the number of strings on Hauzki's guitar (started the solo)? There are 7!! Tamu was a child prodigy and auditioned for Yoshiki! The other guitarist is Saki from Mary's Blood. Haraguchi is the bassist. They have done a number of covers, 1 you should react to Megitsune (Babymetal), not one most would try to do a cover.
Hi guys....yeah that was defiantly a head banging toon....the drummer was kicking a$$ great beat she had going there....I tell ya the Japanese lady bands just kick butt compared to other bands that we all know....must be some good rice wine (Sake) and sushi over there....lol....but still the lady bands over just are just as you said Harry , phenomenal....and always remember "Nunca pare la Musica"

Hi Char, regarding Nemophila's tune "Life." The drummer took a leave cause she was with child. They carried on with a fill in ( not even close to the band member.). After she gave birth and was able resume her proper role. The band wrote the tune to show her how much she was missed. You can see the drummer and vocalist tear up in the video. Awesome performance.
You should see that child play electrictronic drums. He ques up the iPad to his mom's band and keeps a steady 4 on the floor beat. My word, he's what? Maybe 3?!?
In Japan a lot of kids begin classical music or piano lessons at 3 - 4 years When they enter grammar school they continue music classes. After school there are music clubs similar to our chess clubs, French club, little league, football, ect; all sponsored by the government.
I saw a video of Su Metal - 6 years old singing with a mic in front of a group of young people.
The drummer in Nemophila plays piano (of course) and began drumming when she was 8, turned pro at 15 !?!
Misa - Band Maid plays: piano, guitar, trumpet, trombone, bass, and sings . #$&@€✓£%!!!
Every member of lovebites plays piano. The gal stage right was a pro concert pianist, began plàying guitar at 18. Son of a €¥π©!
Midori ( blonde guitar) also began plàying guitar at 18. She played classical piano before. Studied at GIT Japan. Every member plays piano.
No small wonder they play Dream Theater and cover Yngvie in high school. I was robbed in my youth Fumbling through Purple, Beck, Bad Co, and Zeppelin in high school.
I am going to steal some licks now. Nemophila has a pop tune with a killer tasty solo. Something Carnival. The solo is 💯% taste. How can that child play so well?
I am here in the San Francisco, Bay Area, California, gigs are scarce. Blues is dead Rock is about dead.

try their first song "oiran", my personal favourite.. mix of modern hardcore, 80s/90s thrash metal and of course mayu's scream 🤟🏼
Not only my favorite Nemophila song but one of my favorite songs in many, many years.
As others have said : check OIRAN next. It's pretty much a one-take live recording in their rehearsal studio, so not much (if any) editing :) Also, Tamu, the drummer, was 7 month pregnant when they recorded that ;)
Not 7 months.. They filmed video late January.. She had her baby in May.
@@radioraffa oh .. then the info I had was wrong. Well ... still 4th month;)
Anyway, considering they seem to be playing over the amps (hard to say as their ears are mostly covered all the time) that kid had an extremely early introduction to good music ;)
To kind of introduce themselves they were doing a bunch of different cover songs (It was so cute for the one KISS song they did the whole face painting) and it was like mind-blowing and now this song and a couple of the others that are their own mind-blowing.
I LOVE JAPAN TOO ..BABYMETAL , WAGAKKI BAND , YOUSEI TEIKOKU , NEMOPHILA
おー まい ごっと!ねもふぃら
いっつ そー ぐっと ぱーふえくと
みゅーじっく。 ✨ 最高 ✨ 👍
Love this band. Mayu is incredible. She can sign vibrato but does not do the super deep vibrato like the European operatic metal bands.
So glad you both enjoyed it!!!! Love from Mildenhall and Kent
I sooooo wish you guys coulda been at their Western debut at the Whisky a Go Go! It was well, epic!
Yes it was, the first of many shows to come. Can't believe I've seen them 4 times now.
Listened to two songs and fell in love.
My personal favorite is "Raitei"
th-cam.com/video/lh-dVLKP314/w-d-xo.html
beside "Life" maybe. But you can't really compare the two songs.
Album is on the way
03:05 ...and they are just warming up.... 😂😂😂 Long live Nemophila! 😂 🤘 🐺 Lovebites, Nemophila, Chaos Control: What do they put in the water in Japan? 😂
5:34 Well, who does _not_ ? 😂
Now the next must be Hanabie with the song We love sweets or L.C.G.
Love from Luxembourg 💜
I second Hanabie 🌸
I love how they just dropped clips of them doing the Sway etc. and cheerleader chants in the middle of their most metal song...
They are so much fun.
En Japón están muy por encima de la media, impresionantes bandas, impresionantes músicos, impresionante música. Viva 🇯🇵!¡!!
Tamu is absolutely on spot with her drumming, Hatzuki and Saki burn with their guitars, Haraguchi-san hold a bass beat like a goddess, and Mayu`s vocals are some of the best in the world.
'Innocent girls' who can melt your face and chop you up into tiny pieces, and smile while doing it. :)
If you want to jump into the deep end of heavy Japanese music I would recommend Dir En Grey’s Different Sense or Kiri to Mayu(2013 version)
Love watching people react to this tune. IMO their best video yet, Mayu has a great voice. Nemophila is really a super group. All the girls are like the best of the best all from different well established Japanese female groups.
Not really overproduced check out their last livestream they kill it the whole concert is great
I'm glad you listened to this song.
One more vote for hanabie,we love sweets, next!
Superb band! ❤️ check out their live studio sets. Shows them bringing the rock and the fun.
Good reaction. Another all female metal band from Japan you should check out is Hanabie. They are a bit different. The song is We Love Sweets.
I love you guys 😊 Dissension is so heavy for a female band and I loved it 😍 Raitei is amazing as well!! Wait for it…. Wait for it…. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also sang by Nemophila!!
first time hearing them, , wow, look forward to more, great reaction as always, keepem coming
Tremenda banda Nemophila 🔥 impresionante cantante Mayu ❤️ mí favorita después de Tamu !
Gran reacción amigos me gustó 👍
please next react NEMOPHILA RAITEI
Great reaction. You guys are always entertaining. Nemophila is my new favorite band and I love watching people discover them
I love songs. I love thongs. And i love Hanabie, please react to them. They are also a japanese all female metal band. Thanx
The Band Maid of metal in a very good way.
What about Lovebites? Or all the other all-female metal bands in Japan.
@@cepho8349 i heard Lovebites called DragonForce of Japan
@@mr4lergia That's a pretty limiting comparison, actually. Lovebites are pretty diverse and mostly take from older European metal bands. But they have actually toured with DragonForce.
@@cepho8349
What I mean is that, like Band Maid, the members seem to be very nice, extremely talented, beautiful and lovable people who genuinely enjoy playing.
They also seem to really like and care for each other. As does Band Maid.
@@powbobs I see. That is a good point. But be sure to check out Lovebites as well, in case you haven't already.
Hanabie "we love sweet"
I've been hearing that a lot of the groups are from Osaka that's where the world's largest ferris wheel is it comes out of the roof of a mall
Welcome!! 地獄のゆるふわ地獄が待っているwww
You can see she can really scream without any effects in their studio live videos, I recommend OIRAN and the cover of Motley Crue's SHOUT AT THE DEVIL.
Its produced, but check out the live version. Its a BIT rougher, but 95% sounds as good as here. It's real..
Only for your fun try the " Making of Dissension". You will not stop to smile
OK! OK! OK! Hold on! ! ! !
NEMOPHIA & BAND-MAID AFTERSHOCK FESTIVAL 2022
You guys should check out HANABIE " we love sweet ".... another one of the best all female band from japan 😊
Oiran, Raitei next or last Iron Maiden cover ... Personally I like Oiran "from the basement" ;) with many smiles of these girls (esp. bass)
NEMOPHILLA LOVEBITES NEMOPHILLA LOVEBITES NEMOPHILLA LOVEBITES
…I'm so busy everyday🎵
Mayu can do that scream live….
Blue wildflower in Japan is called Nemophila
Sounds like they add jpop hooks to their music like Bridear and Aldious.
U should also check out the song, SUTEI, and LIFE, yes this song is their heaviest song they do
Check out the Nemophila Channel!
Welcome to Japan's matrix!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥❤👍👍👍
Love it! What's the background song playing when they're both giving their reviews after the reaction?
Next Hanabie - We love sweets reaction please! :)
Japan and Korea are # 1 Period for music!
Great clean vocals, sickening screams.
Please react to Crypta from Brazil. Any song will blow you away.
NEMOPHILA June 22nd, July 20th, Japan time You Tube new song released
Hi guys....yeah that was defiantly a head banging toon....the drummer was kicking a$$ great beat she had going there....I tell ya the Japanese lady bands just kick butt compared to other bands that we all know....must be some good rice wine (Sake) and sushi over there....lol....but still the lady bands over just are just as you said Harry , phenomenal....and always remember "Nunca pare la Musica"
