Remember the Titans! It is good to see the Titan get some love. With the rear and cockpit entry is nice.
Yeah, the titan has some smooth to it now, in flight and in combat (for what it is, it's impressive). Making it an even stronger choice for the best starter ship.

There is a German youtuber who refers to the Cutter as "The Strugglebus". I couldn't agree more. It has personality, but more like your first car with the hatchback held in place by rope running from your parking brake. The Titan is an all around excellent ship.

Only thing I feel sad about letting go of my cutter was the QT fuel storage. It was such a good courier because you strap a VK-00 in there and you get anywhere in minutes.
I always recommend the Cutlass Black as a starter to every newbie, it is the best overall package of all starter packs. You can trade (46SCU are at least worth it), bounties, invite a roc, take a second player with you, have two beds, 4x S3 cannons and an S2 shield. It's not for nothing that everyone who knows what's good loves the cutty. If there were the C1 Spirit then that would be the second best choice and if you have 300 dollars left over you should go and put the Queen Andromeda in the hangar. However, due to its size, it is quite demanding.
If you want to spend as little as possible and still have a well-rounded package, Drake is also the cutter of your choice.
The Space Pengiun is a nice little ship from the beginning, good for combat, lousy for trading and in the atmosphere like a blue whale in free fall.
It flies fantastic now. It's also the best starter for the money. The $110 is a little demanding for a beginners first ship trying out the game. Imo the cutty black is more of a stepping stone rather than a starter. Plus I'd hate to have a buddies first experience be in a drake. Don't want them to need a Tetanus shot after they are done.
The path for new players remains the Titan starter package on special sale like now, then a Cutty Black. Some greats never fade, and those two ships give you really everything you might need as an early player: crash one, pull the other, different strengths and weaknesses, both insanely versatile and capable for their price points.
Plot twist, it's always been the best starter. I think the only one that actually outclasses it is the Nomad, but really that's only because it can do just about all the same things but has even greater versatility. I'm a little surprised they lowered the Nomad's HP though, even with the 3 shields it's not really that durable anymore.
I know I was able to do HRTs with the Titan before, I'm going to have to try them again. The biggest issue before was just not having enough burst damage, but a nose size 4 Omnisky sounds like it'll slap.
ngl tho, I miss the old custom nose turret/gimbal mount for the mantis. I was kinda hoping they'd keep it but give the Titan's nose gun better gimbaling or something. Though I will take a size 4 over a size 3 with rule of cool anyday lol

There is a huge potential for an Avenger Titan rework. The components can all be in the back of the cargo bay walls, and the entire wall opposite the bed can be converted into a toilet, kitchenette and weapon rack, and more storage lockers above the bed. As a gold pass I hope they do this as right now there’s a load of wasted space in the Titan and it can easily be brought onto a par with the Cutter.
I've done a lot of bounties in the past couple days, and I gotta say they really went overboard with the particle effects of you hitting your target... so much so, that I often lose track of the pip because of it. It's like 4th of July out there ffs!
I completely agree. As awesome as it looks it's totally blinding. The ship markers and names need to be shrunk down, too
The Warlock is hits wayyy above its weight class in arena as well. Even with the F7A mk2 being so dominant. If you catch on off guard, drop it’s shields and pop that emp. You often have enough time to smoke it.

OneNut, whats up? So the reason why it screams Phantom to you is because of the wing tips and how they angle back up. Reminiscent of the F4.
At this point the avenger is the king of all starters. It’s at the top of everyone’s recommendations.
Vids are getting really good. I always recommend titan as a starter. Drake is a better maker for sure, but the titan is fine.
Tell me about the bugs because I get a lot of stuttering in the showroom. I was checking out the ships last couple days with fleet week and I could barely move around the showroom. Is this typical of the game?
Frames typically drop on those showrooms because of how many assests are in close proximity. If you're running anything less than 32gbs of ram, you're gonna struggle to move in there.
@@OneNutSupreme Specs: 5800x3D, 64GB of DDR4 ram, 3090 which has 24GB of vram. I tried adjusting nvidia control panel settings, I tried Vulkan, I turned off any unneeded apps in the background. Still getting stuttering in the showroom as well as walking around from my apartment. My first spaceship flight was fairly smooth though. I keep getting enticed by these cool ships! Maybe the 4.0 release will be better optimized.
It will not do VHRTs 100%.? ...Sounds like a challenge. Although 3.23 is making all bounty hunting substantially harder and pushing people towards ships like the Corsair.
The VHRTS now are like ERTS from before.
You can do Vhrt with the Titan. At least you need another loadout

MM and new HUD icons are terrible.
New hud is amazing. I just need slider to change the size of hud elements because they are a little too big. Master modes also change the game for the better.
To each their own but I disagree. The new HUD elements are oversized (and we can't change element size, so it is what it is) and a lot of the space taken up is unnecessary (weird bevels and dropshadows etc) and messier than the old ones; e.g. the missile lock indicator, and target indicators are pretty significant downgrades from 3.22.
I really dislike MM for a few reasons, but most of all, it's just not as much fun to fly in combat anymore. What's worse is it's all due to artificial limitations that don't make any in-universe sense.
It's a change I really hope they revert. I'm not going to quit or anything if they don't, but the amount of time I spend in game is directly proportional to how fun it is, and this makes it less fun.
On another note, the Avenger really needs an internal rework, and it's disgraceful that a ship so old has not been given a component/gold pass yet.
What about compared to the 300i?
