My Dad worked for the Canadian Pacific in the 50's
Another great video of a passenger locomotive 🚂. Thanks Jason.
Nice catch of the CPKC steam train Jason. Love that they also had two F units in it.
That was cool!
Now that's a catch!
That was a super great catch!
Happy Fourth Of July ..Stay safe as have fun.
It's a great area to catch a train..... the hills of east central and northeast Iowa. The Mason City sub from Marquette westward to Postville is a neat area to watch the CP trains go through.
4th of July was made for steam locos
Iowa is a beautiful state from what I've seen of it. Some really pretty neighbourhoods. She was booking through Massey! Are you on the border with Iowa Jason? 🤔❤😊👍
CPKC love it
They had a pretty good move on the train considering all the twists and turns. This is one of those areas of the state where the towns are further between and the population is rather low. For the most part the Diesels are either there for the ride on level areas or just a little boost on some hills. On this line however they're there to help as emergency power to help get it to the next terminal or at least out of the way as this track now sees increased traffic since the merger. While some sidings are getting extensions and even a few new ones being built any kind of hang up has real repercussions
They def were using them at times to push it..
Are the other locomotives on there for emergency use?
And what fuel do they use in the steam engine? Coal or oil?
The 2816 originally burned coal but was converted to oil during the restoration.
@@JRNipper thank you!
The diesels are for emergency use, pulling assistance on some climbs & dynamic braking on downhill grades. Also on board 7013 is PTC equipment required by FRA to run trains on Class I mainlines.
@@BudmanPackfan Thank you!
So, who is riding on that train?
Spellbinding videos!!!
