Have you guys considered putting a camera on Peanut?
Might want to throw a GPS tracker on Max while you're at it.
😂
Peanut cam!
... and some protective cactus needle resistant booties, and a water coolant backpack. Oh, and a helmet with a strobe light. ;-)
Do it!
Matt! put a nice bright brake light on the tip of your boom! not only would it look cool, your towed vehicle driver would be able to see it easily no matter what the angles. Food for thought.
Good thinking 99.
There's even wireless magnetic mount brake lights that could be a good option
except when trail driving you would be on the brake a lot to control your speed. It won't help that much as you would think. They better start and bring their communication headsets like Rory uses them form Trailmater.
@@edewaal97 I like "Chatterbox"
Also, bring a couple of boat bumpers along with you to go between the boom in the hood of the car your towing. In this video as you were towing the Jeep, it looks like it came within a half inch of smacking.
Matt tells Katelynn to watch Rhett. Rhett proudly says that is like watching 3 or maybe 4 toddlers. Epic self-awareness.
More likely just a joke. I doubt he is that difficult to watch.
Being supervised allows one to blame the supervisor for mistakes 😎😂
Rhett looks like he could watch others to be honest.
I think I found a new way to explain myself
not much to worry about when Dad handles all of the liability ♥
Old homie sent that rig with all the beans LoL
110%. It's very impressive to snap a Dana 60 lmao.
I think he was proud of that 28’!!
Old dude still
Hammerin’ it!!
Got a kick out of that guy.
@@shcaskey you know hes gonna get her rebuilt and go again lmao
@@paradiseprod6153 Damn right. The only thing good about being old is (usually) you have plenty of money for repairs. 🤣
Having seen Peanut in action for many months, she is not of concern. She respects the rigs and space they need, she knows how to regulate her own needs, and is just a lovable character with great body language and attitude. Such an awesome lass!
Yeah, those cow/sheep dogs are damn smart and really good natured too.
Audio mixing at 7:27, 7:47 and 7:55 gets a little funky. Accidentally overlayed some extra guitars-of-doom over the really nice laid back music theme... 😀
I thought my phone was glitching, glad it wasn't my fault
Happens to the best of us.
That was where the subliminal messages where put in ✓
When I tell you I was checking several browser tabs looking for the source lol
same i thought i was hacked and it was being funky
Had that problem with fuel gauge accuracy on a restoration project. Called in my buddy to find problem. He is diagnostic expert and found the problem. The voltage of the sending unit must be same as gauge. After he inquired of dealer(all parts of fuel system were brand new) he discovered that the electrical values were not the same. We could match the value of new tank unit to original dash cluster fuel gauge. I wanted to replace old gauge with new cluster for ease of reading etc. In my 45 years of restoration of vehicles i try to get oem equipment but this project was an old and very cool step van food truck. Hopefully that helps someone. You're never too old to learn something new. Really nice to have accurate fuel reading, especially in areas where fuel might not be as accessible. Love your videos. Watching from Ontario Canada.
This is a comment just for Rhett : your driving of Morrzilla was exemplary. Your dad's explanation of how you learned to pick out a path and judge the vehicle's balance was interesting, and answered the question of how you gained the skills at an unusually young age.
If I were to compliment you on your dogs, you take excellent care of your dogs. I live in Texas and we have similar Temps but our humidity is much higher. You allow your dogs their much needed exercise, and let them run when they want to run, and you always show you are giving them water breaks. Ignore the loonies that have no clue how to take care of a dog other than papering them like an infant.
So now he's expecting us to watch a recovery without knowng what the weather's like
😂😂😂
Expecting Fonzi to cruise through on waterski’s anytime now.
That old guy was really excited to see you.
Yeah he got on the show, but it will cost him out of his wallet and his body . To bad it was not on video like the white Jeep roll over the video before .
I think he was more excited about getting his one and only 15 seconds of fame!
Dear Matt. From I got my first Border Colly then I was 6 years old in the late sixthies and I lost my preliminær last one in cancer as a 13 year beautiful lady 2 years ago, I have loved these dogs behavior, intelligence and demeanor. I love the nice contact between you Matt and the dogs where you can see Peanuts Joy shining in her eyes over being a part of the recovery team. You can clearly see that Matt is a nice man who loves his dogs and understand what this dog-breed needs. They get all the water they want, and Matt understand that they need stimuli both by running and for their heads. They are known as the world's most intelligent dog breed and can easy learn more than 1000 words. After a good relationship like between Matt and Peanut, where we as their friends are talking with them daily and are showing them the meaning of what we are telling them, they will after some time gradually understand most and sometimes more of what you are telling them (after your behavior). It's a bit scary how much they can understand.
And no one need to doubt that Matt knows how to take care of these dear friends like the rest of his crew.
I'm your fan in Japan! Originally from Utah though and I love seeing the old country. Very much impressed with your young crew and how much trust you put in them. Kids deliver when you let them!
Your name sound more Dutch to me hahaha I’m a fan from Netherlands
Oh yeah I’m totally of Dutch stock. The first VC came to America in early 1600’s. Just living and working in Japan these days!
I could tell those dogs LOVE their desert runs. Keeps them young too.
Great recoveries
I like how far Rhett has come
He’s not a kid anymore
He knows what he’s doing
Your wrecker is a triumph of purposeful design. What a great machine.
I love watching that vehicle evolve.
Rhett is the man!!! Layed back, no worries, just having fun and making it work!!!
Breaking the center section of a Dana 60 is definitely a “Hold my beer.” moment.
I’ve seen videos of front axles breaking in the dunes and they were all really moving and launched hard.
Not necessarily. It is common to cut the casting 2" shorter on that drivers side of the housing to expose axle tube to weld links to. I have seen other SD dana 60s break like that.
You gotta love Peanut! That's one great dog!
Impressive sound from that Jeep. Someone has done an outstanding job on that rig.
LS conversion. Nice! Robbie in LV did a conversion on my 08 JKU a few years back. Did a great job.
win - win for that guy. he got to flippin' send it and see Matt while already wearing the shirt 😆
glad everyone was safe
I’m familiar with dogs too, glad you explained to those that may not have Working Dogs. As it’s unfamiliar territory for most people to see their dogs WORK!
Peanut wouldn't want it any other way!!
@@ThatGuyFromArizona Amen!
Thank you for taking the time to teach properly. Too many people simply say watch what i do. Putting them in the drivers seat and taking lead where they can will give them the confidence to grow and continue to learn. Mistakes happen. Life gives you tests first and the education after. The confidence your younger members show tells me you are doing it right. Give them room to grow and they will.
Peanut always looks fine to me. Its great that you make water available to her all the time but a dog like her would most likely tell you if she wanted water. I love that you speak her language.
Loved Katelynn on Rhett watch!
Love how Katelynn has been able to get to so comfortable on cameras and share who she is with us!
It was nice to hear her natural laugh and smile instead of the forced ones she was using when first being filmed
She hasn't shared anything, but I can't blame her.
Lizzy for the win though.
There will never be another Lizzie, She is legendary! Unfortunately I struggle to transition to Kaitlin.
Rhett is...once again... Awesome!!
Two years ago Rory and Matt welded up this jeeps front axle..... there is even a video on it trail maters channel...
That is really interesting! What part of the axle was broken then?
@@jdougn2255 iirc the hydro steering bracket tie rod. video was titled So Matt Got A Call, Perfect For Trailmater.
By this axle do you mean this particular axle or just an axle?
Love it, Matt. Dogs cool off the same way humans do, with short pants.
"short pants!" lol
Love the way how relaxed she's sitting in the drivers seat and steering the monster wrecker....
Help Rhett out put a small brakelight on the boom since he cant see over the hoods when you lift the vehicles. Also great job guys.
Watching all the way from Kenya 🇰🇪 Much love to the MORR team
I love Matt's Off Road Recovery videos and watch every one of them. He has 1.72 million followers of Facebook. This video features an impressive 'old boy' saying he went airborne in his Jeep for about 28 feet in the dunes and this was the result. Matt's 'Worlds Largest' off road wrecker including the frame was hand built by him and his crew in his workshop.
I have to agree that the difference between men and boys is the price of their toys.
Ouch is the word of the day coupled with the look on Katelynn’s face. 😂😂😂. Keep it up MORR
It's fun watching the kids grow up. A great learning environment filled with love, humor, and endless streams of things for them to learn.
This is the best part of having kids. My oldest drove my (6 speed) car to the ice cream shop last night while I followed on my motorcycle. The boy has really taken to having a third pedal 🥹
Matt, I really appreciate the way in which you are empowering your team through on the job training!
I just dont understand how every one of these people have such charisma and the production value is amazing. Well 1.73 million thats pretty obvious but the whole family and every person on here is a natural on camera its just unheard of.
Matt’s off-road recovery is my Top Gear replacement. Love Matt’s off-road recovery.
The grand tour is the top gear replacement and nothing will ever replace either one.
Hoovie and Tavarish’s show was “we have Top Gear/The Grand Tour at home”
Rhett nailed driving the side by side up the hill.great recovery 🤙😎
I agree and Rhett was showing the owners how to do it without rolling over.
It’s always great to be able to see your dog’s needs, and knowing their environment.
Your dogs have the best life. You take great care of them.
I love how Katelynn has carved out a spot for herself on MORR. Lizzy's departure left so many of us heartbroken, but Kateynn is her own special brand of spunk and competency. It is a short list indeed of those who can pull off mechanical and driving competency along with endearing humor out in the rugged outdoors or shop while wearing pink trousers. Katelynn dominates that list!
Matt you are great with your dogs. You are just getting comments from people who are clueless and shouldn't own animals themselves. As a very rarely known bit of information about dogs. They do not cool down only by panting (even humans pant) dogs sweat through their paws we just don't see it. Panting helps them as much as it helps us. Love the videos thank you.
I am so impressed with Katelynn and her abilities, she and Rhett (and Peanut) bring the channel to a new level.
Katelynn, "I'm on Rhett watch".
Rhett, "that's like watching 3 or 4 toddlers."
I love these kids.
Happy Friday Offroaders!🎉
I could tell that it was Friday because Katelynn was wearing pink.
Need a brake light on the boom for Rhett 😂
So glad they built the heavy wrecker. The wrecker makes difficult jobs look painless. Way to go team!
Love peanut being part of crew. Kaitlyn is growing into a great part of team. Her driving abilities are great.😊😊😊😊
Matt, I never ever once thought you were abusive toward your dog never you’re just not that kind of a person. You’re a good guy and peanut. She’s a sweetheart. The whole bunch of you are good people. This is six in a row.Jim from Kennerdell PA oh and the guy before me who suggested to put the little brake light up on the boom good idea
Good video and KaitLynn got to drive the big wrecker! Good job getting them both recovered and on their way!
Matt, you are a superdad, you make your kits learn so much, and you are such a wonderful teacher. I can see that your kits trust you and are learning well. And Rhatt is a smart son, he has learned so much from you. love your videos. Best wishes from Germany.
Nice to see Safety Director Peanut working hard.
The old guy who broke his Jeep was pretty proud of his accomplishment. Rightfully so.
I'm impressed with that guy sending his Jeep 28 feet. I believe it from the broken axle.
What an idiot
If jeeps could fly, they would have wings! Can you imagine what it sounded like when it landed?
Flying 28 feet = long enough to recite the alphabet according to Matt ! ! !
Love the scenery. Love the recoveries. Love the projects back at the shop. Love watching Kaulin, Kaetlin & Rhett demonstrating confidence and competence in everything they do. Great family & businesss.
We REALLY need a Peanut cam video! Great as always!
We need to chip in and get Rhett a phone book 😂! Sure enjoy seeing him in a more active role lately!
Is it really that hard to make the gauges work correctly? I have a fuel cell in my race car and I modified the float to work with the tank by measuring the sweep and extending the bar. My stock fuel gauge for my 99 Trans Am reads perfectly. Although 2 passes at the drag strip and it's empty anyway. Startup/warm up, 2-step test, burnout, 2-step with 12PSI at launch and a full run, equals about 5 gallons. 12 gallon fuel cell. I think we need a whole show dedicated to fixing all the fuel gauges across the fleet. I challenge you! :)
With TH-cam, comments = currency. If the gauges were fixed what would everyone talk about? Just guessing...
100% piece of cake to fix the gauges.
just look to the marine industry, there is all sorts of types to measure tank content, use of float dont work well in a boat tank ,so they found other solutions to the problem, and most of them is adjustable, and well suited for a fuel cell.
Tom Tom could have but it's more exciting to drive out in the desert not knowing for sure .
You say that talking about the guy who has five unfinished work vehicles (the Bombi, the Wrecker, the Morvair, the Banana, and the Samarai), an unfinished potato truck, at least six unfinished Corvairs, and an unfinished shop. Literally the only thing done in that yard is the Golden Nugget. And you’re suggesting that it’s surprising he hasn’t messed with fuel gauges?
-
after watching this video, and seeing all of the different angles, steering obstacles, terrain, traction issues, i finally see what you originally had in mind when you wanted to build this wrecker. i dont think people realiize how much thought went into this before you said this cab is what i envision,,,,,,,,job well done sir!,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Matt... What you described is a borken fuel gauge... 🤣
For a fuel gauge to work it needs to move and point to an indicator letting you know how much fuel you have. Technically the gauge does all it needs to, just in a really bad way.
You can get a gauge or sending unit starting under $20 kits with both starting under $30. I'm sure they have at least 3 colors of wire on spools in the shop.
You can buy the gauge and sending unit to match. They all say what the resistance is empty and full when you buy them. Just buy the matched sending u it for the gauge.
A few years ago I found a guage that was adjustable to match whatever sending unit you had. They aren't that hard to set up. It would drive me crazy to have a guage not reading properly!
Your kids are great, including Katelynn, Your great, and your dogs are great too. Pity more parents don't give their kids real responsibility these days like it used to be. Loved the present of a clawless hammer Tom Tom left you as well !
Peanut was the co-pilot in the wrecker. Nice.
A tired dog is a happy dog.
jumped a stock, v6 1989 Montero that far with zero issues.
All about the angles. We had a nice, low line.. perhaps two feet up at the apogee.
Cap
Lol you should go visit Cannon Beach, Oregon! I'm pretty sure our dog was the only one walking. The rest of them were in strollers! My little 13 lb Silky Terrier does 14 mile hikes with 5k elevation gain. Dogs are no different than people with respect to exercise and endurance.
I live in reedsport Oregon but drive to Newport every day.
I bought my lifted 4x4 73 F250 with a tubed front axle. It had a closed knuckle axle and the previous owner had been jumping it and broke it. I took a high pinion Dana 44 from a 77 F250 which gave me disk brakes and an open knuckle front axle and also set it up with a true power steering instead of "power assist."
Yesterday a YT Short from VinWiki popped up and I watched on things going wrong off-road, from about 2- years ago. It was where you retrieved a Jeep that rolled over and seriously injured the driver. It even had a video clip where the incident happened. It badly damaged the Jeep, it had a fiberglass top and no roll bar. Just shows how dangerous any off-roading including your recoveries can be. Lucky you and your extended 'family' of staff are so skilled.
Indeed that broken axle was bad. Guess taking 28 feet in air isn't a good idea and tends to break things. Badly.
We need an entire channel dedicated to the dogs and their adventures
I like the DJ Scratching of the music tracks on this one.
Someone was learning how to edit :))
Anyone else want a longer shot of that broken axle? Fascinating!
Looks like it was not welded properly.
@@alanwaters2799 Looks like it was the primary point of impact when a 4-door wrangler sailed 28 feet through the air.
2 Good crews and 1 excellent teacher! Matt gives them life lessons that they will take with them long after we're gone.
It doesn't get any better than that! Thanks Matt and team for a good video!
That's called a hard landing!!
Yikes! Cracked the diff housing!
Did he just Whiskey throttle it over the top or not see the top ? And His neck will be sore tomorrow.
Peanut is such a good girl.... miss my Border Collies
Very nice...glad to see Matt get everyone involved in these recoveries...learn while doing.
2:22 Peanut is like....Dudes! When are you going to let me out so I can run? 😂🤣😂
Matt , Rhett is such a good young man , You & Jami raised him well !! I LOVE YOU ALL @ M.O.R.R. !!!!!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
❤ from South Africa. Your rigs are amazing.
Katelynn has in to her own. She does well in front of the camera. Her confidence really shows, especially when behind the wheel.
Matt, the affection you lavish on your hounds clearly shows you're a top-notch caretaker for them.
Greetings from the Yukon Territory and purrz from Bob-0-Lynx 😊❤😊
Thats awesome old boy out there just sending it lol
I know dogs, and I can tell anyone that Peanut is living her best life. When she jumps in a vehicle to go on a job, she knows exactly what she is doing.
Peanut is a dog that is living it's best life, just getting to be a dog and doing what dogs love to do. You can tell she is happy by how she behaves around everyone on the channel.
MORR Crew to the rescue.
You got 'em out.
Peanut on shotgun in the wrecker! Your dog is so spoiled. ;)
Thank you Matt and crew for the adventure , seeing some beautiful scenery and amazed at the broken housing !
Mat and Peanut are joined at the hip.❤ He will always make sure she is taken care of.
I can see Matt is becoming a director, telling his crew what to do instead of doing it himself. Pretty soon there will be rolling credits on these videos!
Wonder if yes gonna gusset his front axel next time
I would love to watch Katelynn do more competitive off-road driving. She seems like a hell of a driver.
Matt has mentioned this in past videos. She and her dad do competitive events. They have a mean looking buggy/rig. She is very experienced in the off road field. Now, like all the other people who have worked for MORR, she could or should have her own channel and videotape what she and her dad do.
Peanut is one very happy and loved dog! And Peanut tell us what kind of people y'all are! Y'all pass muster....
Based on how that axle looks, he wasn't exaggerating on that jump😂
This ol' guy is just out there living his best life!! Kudos to him, shame the axle broke, but he was killin' it!
I love them old IH R models I use to drive them when I was a volunteer firefighter many moons ago. They both had 501 straight 6 engines that had 4 barrels on them but all straight cut gears in the transmission so you had to double clutch every shift.keep up the good work guys.
Miss Katelynn seems to be just a natural driver regardless of the vehicle, but she knows when to learn more. A great asset to the team.
Rhett is such a pro driver for his age.
What did that Jeep driver think he was in, the General Lee?
Yeah he was going way too fast. The dunes can surprise you easily though, and have sudden cliffs. But yeah I'm surprised he's not injured.
Yeeeeeehaaaaaaa!
Forgot to buy the Plot Armor the General comes standard with.
I was looking for this comment!
The sense of humor in this family is just amazing
What a great video...that old timer launched that beautiful jeep..and the rolled side by side ..the nice thing everyone was ok..Matt and team to the rescue and peanut
