Matt! put a nice bright brake light on the tip of your boom! not only would it look cool, your towed vehicle driver would be able to see it easily no matter what the angles. Food for thought.

except when trail driving you would be on the brake a lot to control your speed. It won't help that much as you would think. They better start and bring their communication headsets like Rory uses them form Trailmater.

Also, bring a couple of boat bumpers along with you to go between the boom in the hood of the car your towing. In this video as you were towing the Jeep, it looks like it came within a half inch of smacking.

Had that problem with fuel gauge accuracy on a restoration project. Called in my buddy to find problem. He is diagnostic expert and found the problem. The voltage of the sending unit must be same as gauge. After he inquired of dealer(all parts of fuel system were brand new) he discovered that the electrical values were not the same. We could match the value of new tank unit to original dash cluster fuel gauge. I wanted to replace old gauge with new cluster for ease of reading etc. In my 45 years of restoration of vehicles i try to get oem equipment but this project was an old and very cool step van food truck. Hopefully that helps someone. You're never too old to learn something new. Really nice to have accurate fuel reading, especially in areas where fuel might not be as accessible. Love your videos. Watching from Ontario Canada.

Dear Matt. From I got my first Border Colly then I was 6 years old in the late sixthies and I lost my preliminær last one in cancer as a 13 year beautiful lady 2 years ago, I have loved these dogs behavior, intelligence and demeanor. I love the nice contact between you Matt and the dogs where you can see Peanuts Joy shining in her eyes over being a part of the recovery team. You can clearly see that Matt is a nice man who loves his dogs and understand what this dog-breed needs. They get all the water they want, and Matt understand that they need stimuli both by running and for their heads. They are known as the world's most intelligent dog breed and can easy learn more than 1000 words. After a good relationship like between Matt and Peanut, where we as their friends are talking with them daily and are showing them the meaning of what we are telling them, they will after some time gradually understand most and sometimes more of what you are telling them (after your behavior). It's a bit scary how much they can understand.
And no one need to doubt that Matt knows how to take care of these dear friends like the rest of his crew.

If I were to compliment you on your dogs, you take excellent care of your dogs. I live in Texas and we have similar Temps but our humidity is much higher. You allow your dogs their much needed exercise, and let them run when they want to run, and you always show you are giving them water breaks. Ignore the loonies that have no clue how to take care of a dog other than papering them like an infant.

So many positive comments from people who understand dogs accumulate to the environment they are in. They know how to care for themselves.
The dogs also know that area better than most people do. They know where the water is, and there have been many videos of them coming back to the vehicles soaking wet.
Matt, the crew at MORR, and the dogs have been doing what they do for years now and none of the dogs have ever appeared abused, neglected, or in any danger.

Putting them in the drivers seat and taking lead where they can will give them the confidence to grow and continue to learn. Mistakes happen. Life gives you tests first and the education after. The confidence your younger members show tells me you are doing it right. Give them room to grow and they will.

The flex is the only wagon/suv that was the best they ever built but didnt sell to many. Only way not to break the tubs off the 60 is to triple weld the tubs

Matt you need to start saving your old fuel level senders off of old cars because they usually all have different ohms and you test each one hooked up to your gauge out of the tank and the one that reads the closest full and empty is the one you run in the tank with!! Then cut some ⅛" weld wire to the right length with the float on it for the tank its going into!! My dad taught me that when I had that problem on my 1973 j4000 jeep!! Now my tank is full when its full and empty when its empty!

13:56 my brother's farm dogs are like that in the summer, which can be blistering in that mediterranean climate he's in, especially these last years. And you can always tell the older dogs from the younger ones, because they haven't been able to adapt. The young ones run and run and run for hours, the older ones even tho they're in peak shape (my brother's wife is a veterinarian), they're not able to do as well, proportionally.

Is it really that hard to make the gauges work correctly? I have a fuel cell in my race car and I modified the float to work with the tank by measuring the sweep and extending the bar. My stock fuel gauge for my 99 Trans Am reads perfectly. Although 2 passes at the drag strip and it's empty anyway. Startup/warm up, 2-step test, burnout, 2-step with 12PSI at launch and a full run, equals about 5 gallons. 12 gallon fuel cell. I think we need a whole show dedicated to fixing all the fuel gauges across the fleet. I challenge you! :)

just look to the marine industry, there is all sorts of types to measure tank content, use of float dont work well in a boat tank ,so they found other solutions to the problem, and most of them is adjustable, and well suited for a fuel cell.

Yesterday a YT Short from VinWiki popped up and I watched on things going wrong off-road, from about 2- years ago. It was where you retrieved a Jeep that rolled over and seriously injured the driver. It even had a video clip where the incident happened. It badly damaged the Jeep, it had a fiberglass top and no roll bar. Just shows how dangerous any off-roading including your recoveries can be. Lucky you and your extended 'family' of staff are so skilled.
Indeed that broken axle was bad. Guess taking 28 feet in air isn't a good idea and tends to break things. Badly.

Not necessarily. It is common to cut the casting 2" shorter on that drivers side of the housing to expose axle tube to weld links to. I have seen other SD dana 60s break like that.

You got to have one ton axles but you also have to have a brain I've been running a Chevy K10 with Factory 10 bolt axles on 35-in tires in a warmed over 350 for years and never broken axle yet because I use my brain when I'm off-roading when this is proof that you can break anything even Rockwell 5 ton axles I'm so sick of people saying that you've got to replace your half ton parts what you need to do is replace the brain and your lead foot

Katelynn needs to master omnivision. I learned to do this when I read where Sterling Moss used it when racing. This technique allows you to read your gauges at the same time you are looking at the road and your mirrors. You look straight ahead all the while taking in the surrounding area. It's not easy, but with practice you can manage it.

I still think it be beneficial to come up with a hard tow bar for more traditional tows (for example when in a non-rock crawling situation) to alleviate the potential of the towed vehicle from smashing into the wrecker. I’ve noticed a number of situations where that would just make things a lot easier and safer. You could have one that flips down when needed or stays flipped up and stowed when not like on a traditional wrecker body. Then you could use your ropes/straps when they make more sense.

I don’t know if it’s possible with the ground you have out there. But here in the uk on the dirt trails there’s a guy who made a rake that goes on the back of his 4x4 that after a day of ripping up dirt he goes over it and flattens it out on the way out. Almost like a trail repair.
